Sometimes ********* wished she had money so she could spend it on important days such as this. One day after Easter, and all sorts of Easter treats were super cheap to get.
Of course, she didn't have money, so she couldn't exactly obtain the candies very readily. She had to rely on her adorable kitty face to get her anything sweet and delicious. So far, it wasn't doing her any good at the local convenience store.
People were walking out with their chocolate bunnies, candy eggs, marshmallow chicks, and jelly beans. However, nobody would spare the manx even a second glance. Eventually, she had to let out a miserable and nearly pathetic sounding mewling noise to voice out her frustrations.
Nope, still nothing!

He found her outside of a local convenience store.
Fritz, on his way home from the store, passed by the cat quite unintentionally. He had not noticed her at first - not, at least, until he had heard the familiar, pathetic mewling that indicated she was, in fact, hungry and wanted something.
And that something was apparently sweets.
Casually, Fritz stopped walking, standing directly behind the little Manx cat. Then he reached down, picked her up, tucked her into his free arm, and resumed walking back to his loft.
"Good afternoon, H ebe."

AIRBORNE KITTY WAS AIRBORNE!
Letting out a surprised mewl as her ears pinned back a bit, the guardian attempted to swivel her head to face whatever the force behind her flying was.
Enter Fredboberick of the Fritz! He easily stowed her away in the crook of his arm and began to walk.
Upon his initial greeting, the feline let out a cheerful mew. However, once they seemed to be in the clear, she had to ask "...why did you take me away, Fredbob? I was hoping to score some candy!"

He shrugged, glancing down at her. "No particular reason. I just happened to be on my way home when I saw you, begging like the silly darling you are, and figured I'd save you the trouble."
With the hand that held the bag of supplies, Fritz reached into the pocket of his pants and dug around until he found what he was looking for, pulling out a small bag of candy. He held it up to his mouth, used his teeth to open it, and then offered it to H ebe.
"What have you been doing today, my dear? Anything exciting?"

********* was purring in his arms as he pulled out something delicious smelling. And soon enough to be delicious tasting.
Even if it was a joke, she couldn't help but say in a sincere manner "It's like you're my knight in shining armor, Fredbob!" It was a bit ironic given the fact was that this boy was in fact a knight in his spare time.
The moment the candy was within her reach, she tried to get her little paw into the bag. Her other paw clutched to the bag in a selfish kitty manner, which in some sense rendered her unable to grasp the treats inside.
"...well... I was trying to take advantage of the candy sales today... without having to spend the money I don't have..." Yup, ********* had her priorities straight.

He rolled his eyes at the joke, which was a pretty bad one (but still funny) and let her grab for the treats, which she only seemed to clutch at and not exactly eat.
"So, the usual, eh?" said Fritz, and grinned. "Glad to see you're still the same as always."
He'd reached the building of his loft now and took the stairs up to the flat he shared with Tolliver. His brother was out of town for the weekend, on some trip to visit friends, so he wouldn't have to explain H ebe at all.
"Make yourself at home," he said, setting her down on the floor and stepping into the little kitchen to put away some things. "I do warn you, though, I have a cat of my own. His name's Crook, but I'm not sure where he is."
The signet ring on his hand glimmered a little as he opened the fridge, stowing a bag inside without bothering to actually unload anything.

********* trotted along next to the boy's ankles almost like an obedient dog when she was set down. "Hmmm... I don't think that your home is quite as spacious as my home... since the city is my home... but... you have a nice place to live, Fredbob."
The mention of another occupant caused the manx to chuckle slightly. "Cat's puzzle me... but that's okay in all honesty... since I am quite certain I puzzle cats!" The cats on Earth were completely different from Mauvians, but it wasn't exactly a common fact. Sue seemed to understand that, since he seemed to have a special understanding with the Earth felines. It had been a long time since she had seen him though.
From her spot on the floor, she managed to catch sight of something on one of the boy's fingers. She let out a semi-cooing sound at the sparkle. "Oh... that is a nice ring... are you in a relationship, Fredbob?"

"Thank you kindly," said Fritz cheerfully, and pushed himself up and away from the fridge, wiping his hands together absently as he searched for a towel. "And yes, well, I'm certain you puzzle a lot of humans as well, so there you have it."
Running a hand through his head of overlong hair (he really needed a haircut), he was about to ask H ebe if she wanted anything else to eat when she cooed at him, and he blinked, momentarily flummoxed. Then he realized what ring she was talking about.
"No," he said with a laugh, and shook his head. "I'm not in any relationship at the moment, silly goose. This is my signet ring." He smiled, and held up his hand for closer inspection. "Takes me to my wonder."

The feline let out an inquisitive sound at his proclamation.
"Signet ring?" With a tilt of the head, she asked "Don't signets usually have like... symbols on them?" He was holding it right in front of her, and she couldn't see anything but a smooth surface upon it. As if trying to feel the surface of the piece of jewelry, she pressed a paw on top of the boy's hand along the ring.
"I mean, it is wonderful that it takes you to your wonder... but... it seems soooo plain..." She patted her paw over the piece of jewelry before commenting "Your wonder better not be nearly as plain as this ring, okay, Fredbob?"

He smiled a little, wiggling his fingers for her inspection, and H ebe's paw landed atop of his signet ring as though touching it would make it somehow less plain.
"It does have a symbol on it," laughed Fritz. "Just not for eyes that are not my own," he added, with a wink, and straightened, idly smoothing down the front of his teeshirt. "And my wonder is rather lovely, if I do say so myself."
There was a small pause. Fritz considered the cat in front of him.
"Would you like to see it, perhaps?"

She took her paw back finally before trotting about his ankles, rubbing up against him before taking a seat on his shoe. "Well, you now need to prove that your wonder is not as plain as your jewelry... so let's go, chop chop, my dear Fredboberick of the Fritz! No time to lose!"

He lifted a brow, and then smiled.
"Well...as you wish, Lady Cat."
Reaching down, Fritz gently picked up H ebe, tucked her under one arm, and pressed his fingers gently to the signet ring. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath.
"I pledge my life and loyalty to Chronos and to Celsus.
"I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine."
There was a rush of gentle power, like a breeze, a faint white light, and when they opened their eyes again they would be in the Wonder of Celsus.

********* would have settled for taking the ride upon the boy's shoe, but instead she was soon enough airborne and then tucked up under his arm. Of course, this was not the same procedure as she had encountered with the Senshi she had managed to hitch rides off of in the past, who had to rely on their Mauvian cell phones and some silent concentration to get home.
Instead, Fritz spoke allowed a pledge of some sort, and then they were transported. ********* hadn't closed her eyes, so now her pupils were little slits compared to earlier due to the sudden exposure of light.
Such wouldn't last, for the feline squirmed and fussed until she was able to squeeze out of her companion's arms and land upon her four paws on the ground.
Like a strange cat-plant, the manx shot up in height quite quickly, taking on a form which the boy probably was quite familiar with. "Ah yes, this is quite cozy!" she said contently before pulling off her hat for a moment and spinning it between her two hands, looking about a bit. Her ears were standing straight up as she looked to the dark mahogany doorway.
She let out a low whistle. "Goodness... so this is... your outpost?" She took a few steps forward, stepping mostly to the bare balls of her feet before spinning around to face him, smile easily finding a place upon her features.
"Alright... now it's tour time! I get to be the tourist, and you get to be the tour guide, okay Fredboberick?"

When he turned around again, H ebe was a human again.
"Ah," said Fritz with a smile. "There's your adorable face again. You know, you really are quite endearing in both forms - though this time keep your hands to yourself," he added, with a completely straight face as though he were not implying butt grabbing at all.
"And yes." He spread his arms out, smiling. "This is my Wonder, the Wonder of Celsus. It's a bit, ah...well, it's a bit crowded, as you might have noticed. I think my previous ancestor may have been a bit eclectic in his gathering."
Sliding towards her, Fritz offered her the crook of his elbow.
"I would be delighted to offer you a tour. We'll start on the left side, beside the bookcases that provide a rather entertaining view of someone who clearly did not understand how to organize books in a proper manner."

Modesty was not her forte, and ********* rather easily dropped her hat so she could poke her own cheeks with both pointer fingers. Sticking out her tongue ever so slightly, she confessed "Guilty as charged!" Both of her ears stood straight up before they seemed to relax, flicking ever so slightly as she bent down to pick up her hat.
"Well, my dearest Fredboberick... if you have no snacks hiding in your back pockets, I think you should be safe."
As politely as her guide had offered her the crook of his arm, it seemed as if the Mauvian had something else in mind. Nimbly, she snuck around to his backside and with an easy hop, she had popped her hat on his head and clung onto his back as if she was a backpack.
"I think a tour-piggy-back sounds better!" she squealed lightly as she awkwardly scrambled to get into a better position for the ride she had just insisted upon.
