The Observation Point

General Setting:
The Observation Point is the highest point of the entire Clan structures, seated at the very tip of the highest tree. The climb up is precarious, and can only be managed for the flightless on a single, swaying ladder. Even then, the flight up is covered in thick and dangerously sharp branches, spears, and other weapons, just to emphasize facing the obstacles. In fact, it is so difficult to make it up, that one climbing must be aware of all obstacles, and overcome them before reaching the top.

OOC: EVENT ROLLS AND PROMPT MECHANICS:

- When your student has arrived in this setting, you can CHOOSE to roll a 100-sided dice at any point in time. They are NOT at the observation point top yet, they need to roll to get there. You can only do this twice per RP you make. Match your dice roll to the results below for a prompt/ small reaction that your student may discover. RP out results accordingly.

1-20: While climbing upwards with the ladder, as you do not want to brave the spears, you look down. The ground is so very far down. you begin to loose your nerve a bit, and remain stuck.
21 - 40: The ladder begins to sway and shake precariously, as suddenly a gust of wind billows to one side, causing anyone airborne to also grab a hold onto that ladder for dear life. You can practically see your life flashing before your eyes (again) as you almost get impaled by a sharp spear.
41 - 60: You finally manage to pass the first hurdle of spears, but nearly get pin-cushioned again as a barrage of arrows appear out of nowhere. Really now?
61 - 80: You see a lone clan member fly upwards towards the observation point, dodging all obstacles effortlessly. Sure, they make it look easy...
81- 100: You finally reach the top! At the very top, you can see a large group of War clan members filing out, heavily armed and equipped. They seem to be shouting loudly to each other as well, excitedly as they exit to the portal room. (see below for horsemen point prompt)
- Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here!

Aurian was going to get very fit staying with the War Clan, she thought. All day long it was climb over here, then down there, then back up over here. When they weren't climbing, they were fighting. At least no one could say that the War clan was ever boring!

She had overheard one of the clanspeople talking about the tallest tree in their city. Aurian was intrigued. Apparently it had the best view of the whole island. And not only that, but it apparently very hard to climb all the way up - it was something like a rite of passage to climb it without the aid of wings, or so Aurian managed to figure out. Both were excellent reasons to give it a go. So she'd passed the information on to Mai, Vaith and Lacie, along with her plan to try it out once they had some free time after class.

... Aurian hoped that they would show up.

But in the meantime, it couldn't hurt to practice a little without witnesses! Aurian grinned fiercly and approached the ladder. It seemed incredibly tall from down here. It almost disappeared from view. If it weren't for the larger observation town at the top, Aurian might think it was a trick - a ladder that went nowhere.

As she watched, a winged warrior soared overhead. The clanswoman leading neatly on the deck. Aurian pouted. Of course it was so much easier if you had wings. How unfair!

Aurian swayed from side to side, waiting at the base of the ladder. The others must have been delayed, she thought. They'd be here soon. Then they could take it in turns to try and reach the top. The view from up there must be lovely, she thought wistfully, staring upwards. But it would be even nicer if shared with friends.

However... surely it couldn't hurt to practice a little bit more while waiting for them? It wasn't cheating. Aurian was here first and would be the one waiting longest. She deserved some sort of advantage for that - it was only fair.

Nodding to herself, Aurian turned to the ladder and began to climb. She didn't even make it to the first obstacle when a shadow passed overhead. Aurian looked up to see another Clans member landing up at the platform. Suddenly Aurian had cold feet. If there was some sort of gathering going on up there, she didn't want to face it alone. Best to wait on the ground for the others, after all.

The next day, Aurian tried again. Even if she couldn't arrange a time with the others, that wouldn't stop her from trying to reach the top by herself. It was one of her goals for the week. So far they included getting up to the observation point, and actually surviving more than one round in the Stadium. Doing well in class was just a given.

Aurian took a deep breath and then started up the ladder. The first obstacle on the long climb was a swarm of spears sticking out of the tree, blocking the ladder in several places. Aurian swung herself nimbly around them, once or twice using them as hand- and foot-holds were the ladder rungs were inaccessible. She grinned as she left the spears behind.

A high whooshing sound was her only warning. A barrage of arrows fell from the open air. Aurian yelped and lost her grip. Back on the ground, she glared up. Really? Really now? It might have been an automated trap or it might mean that there were several bored Clans members constantly watching the ladder and just waiting to skewer people. Aurian wasn't impressed.

She wasn't impressed and she wasn't intimidated, either. Giving herself a shake, Aurian focused her eyes back on the ladder. She wasn't giving up just yet, arrows or not.

Aurian began climbing once more. She made the mistake of looking back down. The ground loomed, so far away and yet so close, swimming in and out of focus. Aurian clung to the tree and swallowed hard. She hadn't realised how high she'd climbed last time - and she wasn't even to the spears yet. For several minutes, Aurian could do nothing but rest her head against the bark and try to calm her roiling stomach. Eventually she gave it up as lost and slowly made her way back down to the ground. She was actually glad no one else was here to witness that...

"Yo Aurian---"

The reaper boil joined the ghoul, having spotted her up here awhiel ago. He just took awhile to make it here.

Nearly dying along the way. Dying on the way up too.

Vaith held onto the ladder with one hand, he was taken aback by the wind .. and a spear.

"OhJack, Aurian, what are you doing up here?!"

Vaith thought his time of death was nearing very soon.
