User ImageOathkeeper wasn't sure what to do. She hadn't seen Coldstreak recently, and her head was spinning in all the thoughts that she couldn't seem to sort out. I didn't mean for this to happen. It wasn't her intention, she didn't ask for this. If anything, children, mates, all a little too fast. Oathkeeper had hardly even known her own mother, she didn't even know her name. So much responsibility on her shoulders now, and she wasn't sure what to do.

Perhaps that was why she found herself in some far flung corner of the swamp she'd never been in before. The doe stared into the water, hoping that some kind of answer would present itself, or at the very least, stare back.

There is a certain patch of the swamp near his den that, this time of year, holds a large berry bush that he is quite fond of visiting. However, he's yet to visit it and can't quite seem to remember where he'd last found it. As he scans the area for the telltale flashes of red, So Bad spots something else altogether -- red, yes, but certainly not the berries he'd been looking for.

No, he grins to himself and moves quietly closer, something much sweeter. Clearing his throat softly to himself, he steps out from behind the cover of the bushes so that the doe might spot him.

"...Someone so lovely shouldn't wear such a long face," he remarks quietly, a small smile dancing across his expression to light up his pale eyes. In a smooth motion, he leans down to pluck up a flower bright as the sun, and steps close enough to lay it gently at her feet. "A smile is far more fitting."

The buck catches her off guard. Startled, the doe's front two legs slip into the black water. Half of her front legs are soaked and her hooves sank into the rich mud. Looking back, Oathkeeper realized the buck had placed a flower at her feet. The yellow was bright, and warm, and mellow, it was a pretty thing.

"I…err, " she said as she pulled her legs from the water, "thanks?" Oathkeeper was somewhat unsure of what to make of the situation and clearly flustered. What an embarrassing way to meet someone, she could almost feel her ears burning with shame as she bent to pick up the flower.

So Bad honestly hadn't meant to startle her so badly... and a sense of dismay washes over him as he watches the pretty doe slip into the water, muddying them, up to her knees. At least, he thinks, the water isn't too green or otherwise gross...

Still, her blush is a pretty thing to behold, and Bad grins a bit as she bends to pick it up, her embarrassed thanks pulling a soft laugh from him.

"You're welcome, of course. Tell me -- if you would-- why someone as pretty as yourself looked so distraught just a few moments ago?"

It wasn't like Oathkeeper to startle, she usually kept her wits about her. But recently the doe had been more than a little on edge. The buck's gentle laughter was soothing, he had a charming air about him that Oathkeeper appreciated. Normally, she was a very private doe. She didn't like talking about overtly personal things to bucks, or does even, that she'd just met. But Oathkeeper was at her wit's end.

"It's, erm, complicated." She placed the flower on the ground, it was hard to talk with something in her mouth, "And boring. It's not interesting at all. I don't want to waste your time."

So Bad smiles again, something softer and a bit more gentle this time.

"Sometimes the things that seem most difficult are the easiest," in So Bad's opinion, very little about life was difficult unless one made it so. But then, he had a somewhat... unconventional view of things. Still, it sounds rather optimistic, and he does honestly believe it.

"Besides, I was only going to find my favorite berry bush. If you want to share a sweet breakfast with me... well, I certainly wouldn't mind listening. Especially not to such lovely company."

The way So Bad talked was calming, almost soothing. Oathkeeper was reminded of sunbeams, for some reason. She looked at the buck. He was well-built, a fact that she wasn't sure why she picked up on.

"I'll go with you, if you don't mind." Oathkeeper felt a flush creeping into her face, she wasn't used to receiving compliments.

"Well, it's about a buck. Well kind of, not really, sort of." She was stuttering, rambling. It was uncharacteristic but Oathkeeper needed to tell someone. "I don't know what to do, or what state our relationship is in. I haven't talked or even seen him for a while."

The grey buck nods a little at her explanation, and begins leading her to said bush. He hopes he's going the right way.

Uh oh.... is his recent interest in love with another buck? This might be more difficult than he'd initially realized.

"Why don't you tell me what happened? Maybe I can be of some assistance, though my name may not lend that same conclusion," he grins at her once more. "I'm So Bad. What's yours, pretty lady?"
