TRAINING FIELDS:As your student walks along the various charted districts, they notice several large areas with signs marked on them: training fields. Each one seems to have a certain set of instructions of how to pass them, but promises a rather impressive boost to the ego for anyone who dares to surpass the challenge. OOC [ HOW TO PLAY: ]- Your students can now participate in the TRAINING FIELD EXERCISES. - EACH DAY (once every 24 hours), your student can choose one of the training field exercises (as seen from the post below) and try it out! You will need to create a NEW THREAD for it in this subforum titled [TRAINING] [PRP] NAME HERE - You can participate in this SOLO or IN A GROUP WITH OTHERS. IN A GROUP still follows the SAME MECHANICS as SOLO, but you can competitively rp and gloat with ICly with other characters as you wish. - When 24 hours have passed you can REUSE YOUR SOLO/GROUP THREAD to post AGAIN for the next day. Try not to make new threads if possible. If your GROUP people are MIA in a GROUP THREAD, it is okay, you can just roll on your own, that is fine too. [ REDEEMING IN POINTS: ]- After you have completed the exercise ie: rolled the number of times you have asked, tally up the number of HORSEMEN POINTS you have obtained - You can now redeem them for FREE RAFFLE TICKETS OR MINIPETS PRIZES

The Stadium:There is a small stadium for young War Horsemen set up away from the larger training fields, several circles set out for pairs to spar against each other in. A rather rugged looking female stands, dark skinned, light haired, covered in scars and warpaint, her hair unevenly cut in the back to a short length and ridiculously long and braided in the front, wrapped around itself, several feathers tucked into both it and the dark stained fabric, bones from several different types of creatures weaved into jewelry she wears, her wings colored like a golden eagle. On one arm, she has several slashes of paint – what looks like hundreds, trailing down it. After staring too long she finally speaks up:
“There is one for each battle I have won.” She said simply, shifting the pole she held to her other hand before turning to show her other arm, which is spotted with paint of a different color – and much more numerous. “I have one for each battle I have lost as well. To become a true warrior, you must climb your way to the top from the very bottom, and the best place to start is practicing against those who may just be better than you.” She explained, before motioning to one of the circles and an individual that was practicing on their own.
“Go join them.” She says, “If you think you’re ready. If you win, you will be paired up with the winner of another spar. So on, and so forth. After five victories, a break will be allowed for the day.” She says, the only explanation she gives as she hands off a small staff.Mechanics There are 5 roundsRoll 2d8 each post First dice is how hard you hit Second dice is how hard the opponent hit You want to roll higher than your NPC opponent. If you roll a tie roll a tiebreaker between them (same as the above) If you lose a match any matches you roll -for fun- afterwards cannot be counted towards points, but you can keep rolling spars! Please fill in each of your posts with a small summary of how your spar went! It could be more than one hit, despite having only rolled one! Have fun with it! Horsemen Points Distribution [ Horsemen Points Distribution: ] (Select only one option based on your results) You win one point if you win rounds 1 or 2! You win two points if you win round 3 or 4! You win all three points if you win round 5 (or higher if you keep rolling for fun!)

Without his coat for this training exercise, Julian listened to the clanswoman, nodding his head when she told him to join the other practicing clanmember. He approached slowly, watching as the other male paused in his practicing so that Julian could join him in the circle. There was a moment of stillness between them as they stared at one another, a moment that was broken by nothing and everything at the same time. A blink of an eye, a twitch of a feather, whatever it was they were suddenly going at one another, determination in both their eyes. Julian wanted to prove to himself that he belonged here, no doubt his opponent wanted to shine. But then, was it right for him to judge?
Both landed solid blows, but in the end it was Julian standing over his opponent. He wasn't sure what the protocol was here, but Julian was anything if not himself. He offered a hand and helped the other male up before moving away to another circle.

BONUS NON-MANDATORY TASK When you return to the class area, Radha frowns at you thoughtfully. "You do not look as if you are comfortable with your mount. Have you ridden before?" She listens to your answer, considering before slowly nodding. "Even if you are familiar, practice would not be amiss. And if you are not... then now is a good time to learn." Radha demonstrates the basics, borrowing your mount and showing you how to make it walk forward, stop, turn, and run. They are the basic commands, but that is really all you need. And then it becomes your turn. BONUS TASK This is an optional bonus task that will not earn you any horseman points. You need to demonstrate the basics of using a mount. Please do these in a separate thread.Hey! Listen!- Roll 1d4. Even, your mount listens to you. Odd, it does not. Forward:- Roll 1d4. Even, it moves forward. Odd, it does nothing. STOP:- Roll 1d4. Even, it keeps moving. Odd, it stops. Turning:- In order to demonstrate your ability to turn, your mount will need to turn one full circle. Pick even or odd. Try to roll what you called twice in a row. - Upon accomplishing that, call even or odd again. Then roll what you called twice in a row again. Upon completing this bonus RP, you may now RP your mount anywhere within the War clan. Except in RPs that takes place in trees, because that is rather silly and the mounts are too big to fit in the elevators. This isn't Thunder Bluff.

Well, of course he hadn't ridden before. He was naturally an animal himself, so what need did he have to ride? Just because his mother did in her spare time... Okay, so it wasn't like he couldn't, it was just that he, like with most things, just didn't want to spend too much time outside. He watched Radha demonstrate how to direct his wolf before she brought his mount back to him. It was a tall, somewhat lean animal with reddish brown fur and bright orange eyes. It's, ah no, her fur was soft when he pulled himself onto her back like Radha had shown him.
"Okay, we can do this," he said, doing his best to remain confidant. Bad idea to show weakness, even if the she-wolf had been tamed.

And... she didn't move. She was smarter than that, at least he thought so. Maybe he should call her something, or actually address her, he supposed. Julian didn't like the idea of giving her a name, since for all he knew she had a name for herself already He would think it was rude if he was in his natural form and someone named him something silly.
So, instead, he gave her neck a pat and said, "Hey, are you listening?"

Still nothing. Julian patted her neck and reached out, scratching behind one of her ears. "Come on, I know you can hear me."

Julian's mount leaned a little into the scratching, but showed no signs that she was listening to him. Well, then, he had tried being nice. Intimidation had made her respect him enough to let him on her back, maybe he needed to keep it up. His hand fisted in her fur at her nape, tugging a bit as he hissed at her. "Are you going to listen now?" his tone was low, commanding.

The wolf whined a little and tilted her head, ears swiveled back slightly. Really? Was that the only thing she would listen to, authority? Well, from what he knew about wolves, he guessed that made sense. She certainly wasn't the type of wolf to respond well to kindness. "Good, now let's go forward," he said, leaning forward slightly in an attempt at direction.

"Good girl," Julian all but cooed, then sat straight again. "Now stop." The commanding tone was back.

Maybe she didn't understand the command, maybe it was too subtle or he hadn't been watching and hadn't gotten the moves. Either way, his grip on her ruff tightened and he pulled just a bit backwards. "Stop."

Julian let go of her ruff and patted her neck again. "Good girl," he said, though his praise was still laced with the no-nosense tone he'd been using to keep her in line. It felt so out of character to act like this, but wasn't that what his mother and father and brothers did all the time. Even now he was learning to be more like them.
"Okay, let's try the circle now."
