Hi!
My name's Nui ('nu' - 'we' not 'new' - 'e' *I just wanted that clarified.). I'm fifteen, turning sixteen in a few weeks, and I love writing my way out of everyday. 3nodding (It's a long story on how impulsive I get even in class, anywhere really, when it comes to writing. It became merely a hobby...) I've been writing since freshman year of high school and have had interest in reading for just as long. I prefer writing poems and proses so most of my work would be either of those. Enough said. I'd leave further introductions of myself to my works.
I've only started to get familiar with gaia's forums these past few weeks so please bear with me if I ever do anything wrong.
I'd probably start on my challenge next week's Sunday .
stare Before I forget yet again... I like giving feed back and receiving ones as well. Also, don't be shy if you need help on anything. PM or quote me any time. *Sometimes, I need to be quoted or pm-ed or else I forget to post at all. sweatdrop
Here's a little taste of my style:
Strange Hobby
A bloomed flower sways, whispering unspoken love to strong gushing winds.

Okay. My first post. whee
I. New Beginnings
Tip Toe
I started tossing in my sleep, I have made my way through the night. My heart began to drum, I have been found.
Dark was the night.
I lay half-awake on the clouds, I have stretched time. My consciousness was left behind, I was defenseless.
Time went slow.
I trembled against the weight, I have fought for another breath. My mind refused to wake, I was back on my toes.
Nightmares never truly leave.
I reached for the first morning light, I have lifted the horizon. My hand hesitated for a second, I felt the cold breeze.
Colors beamed across the sky.
I glimpsed at the last stars fading, I have received the answer. My mind refused to wake, I was back on my toes.
I always await the break of dawn.
Random thing: I think I swallowed a watermelon seed... emotion_sweatdrop

They say a whole watermelon grows if you swallow a seed. .____. Heh, kidding. cx
I think what I enjoyed the most about the poem was how you made a non-traditional (to my knowledge, as I don't even try to pretend I'm any good at poetry) pattern/style for the lines work so well.
The images were really great. I've always kind of been jealous of poets for being able to describe with such flow. I guess it's the lack of constraint, should you choose it, compared to short stories. I really enjoyed the stanza of laying in the clouds and being defenseless. I feel it could be up to much interpretation, though my original view was that the narrator was half-awake, half-asleep (the clouds), and nightmares haunted the character there.
I really enjoyed this heh.

xVoldie They say a whole watermelon grows if you swallow a seed. .____. Heh, kidding. cx They do say poetry is the most flexible form of writing. There aren't much restrictions with punctuations and grammar... Spelling and vocabulary, on the other hand, can't have any excuses. Still, it's way easier than any other form.
emotion_c8 Yes, I did believe that when I was younger.

I like this. I don't know anything about poetry, but I really like the idea of being defenseless against our nightmares.
When I was little I remember one of our double-dog-dares was to eat a watermelon seed. I lost that dare. >.<

Oh... I found it easy when my tongue slipped and made me swallow a seed. Still, it felt terrible for an agonizing second.

I don't know where this came from... emotion_facepalm but it's true.
II. Cause/Effect
Unnoticed
I shut doors. I build up walls. I close windows. Those are how I hold my grudge.
The doors, I lock them. The walls, I make sure they’re high and unreachable. The windows, I rarely open them again.
I lose grip of what’s behind. I lose care of the changes that might happen. What’s worse is that I lose consideration of that possibility – that there’s still a chance something different could occur.
I feel myself turn ice cold, bitter and irritated. I last for months without ever thinking twice. Right and wrong becomes nonsense.
I don’t explain to myself any reasons or crowd my mind with any excuses. Neither is any good to anyone, once a decision is made.
I miss a lot as time continues to pass by.
