 Uri yawned and stretched out the male had spent the greater part of his afternoon on top of a rock having a nap in the sun. Soon the sun would set and Uri would go out for a hunt, Uri liked bringing dinner home to his poor momma. Uri frowned a little thinking of his parents his father was always around taking care of his mother and recently had sat Uri down to tell him he needed to get out more and meet other members of the pride. Apparently according to his father Uri was spending too much time talking to his rocks and Uri's father seemed concerned Uri would turn out like her mother who was almost to frail to even leave the den.
Uri shook his head trying to push the thoughts of his parents put of his head. There was still time before he should leave to hunt perhaps Uri could meet someone and make a friend before he went hunting. He took a look around the pride lands trying to find someone who seemed approachable.

Rellik stretched upon a dune and leaned forward, letting ehr rear legs feel a gentle tugging as she felt her body limber up. She needed to hunt, find a source of water, nutrients, anything in this heat. But she also knew to be careful when around in the lands as the nergui were out beyond the borders somewhere. But this heat, where was the rain? Shaking her body, Rellik peered around and looked towards the sky. No cloud cover, again. The heat would grow worse as the day wore on.
Moving at an even pace, she walked upon the sands, ears swiveling trying to pick up sounds, perhaps that of prey, friend or foe, but it was tedious work, and she wondered when the rain would come.

The movement caught Uri's eye almost immediately he's pun around to face the lioness. He smiled pleasantly at her. She wasn't a lioness he knew but he found her stripes very striking. Dragging his feet in the dry sand a little Uri tried to find the words to start a conversation with her. To say that he was socially awkward would be an understatement.
"Hello" he muttered he was concerned that he didn't sound very friendly but he was trying very hard to seem friendly.... Not that many firekin were all that friendly.

As she heard a voice her eyes settled on a bright red male, with stripes all his own, she noted. Her eyes found his, bright, striking, and his mane was various shades. It was strange to see such a thing when she was used to males having one color, well, least those she saw were normally one color or tone all together.
"Hello," she said watching him, offered him a smile, "what're you doing out here? Are you...a water seeker? No, hunter?" she asked, trying to make it sound like a guessing game. He did appear nervous...she was trying to set him at ease.
"I'm Rellik, what're you doing way out here? Has the sun not gotten to you yet?" he was lucky if that was the case, the heat along with lack of water could drive a lion into hiding in shade.

Uri smiled a little trying to calm his nerves. She seemed to be a nice lioness one with perhaps even a bit of a sense of humor which wasn't something many firekins had.... they were a very serious pride, you had to be after all out in the blistering heat of the desert your survival could count on it. "No I am not a water seaker or a hunter, though I do those jobs sometimes." Uri said quietly. "I am a tracker." Uri was one of the few in the pride who held the title of tracker, he had good luck of finding things as a young cub something that went noticed by others. He had always thought it was his rocks that had helped him but that of course he kept to himself.
"The sun doesn't bother me really." Uri said looking up towards the skies, he had lived all his life in this heat so he really didn't know any different. "What about you why are you so far out?" he asked, he hadn't really realized how far out he had traveled though it wasn't out of the ordinary for him to be out this far he did like the quiet he could find away from the hub of the pride.

"You are lucky then, sometimes dark stripes can bait the sun to linger on your skin, least I think so," Rellik said with a shrug and a smile. He seemed, removed, almost, as if he was unsure of the situation. Did she make him nervous? She did not mean to by any means.
"Just out patrolling I guess, not much a soldier like me can do while in the wait," she thought though, wondering about the Nergui monsters. None had shown their faces recently, but she'd be on the prowl in case there were unfamiliar faces.
"Have to keep alert with the Nergui threat, so that's all."
