No, really, they are, fuzzy little balls of pure unadulterated evil. We are only fortunate they are smaller than us, otherwise the hunters would be the least of our worries. Some cats however, some are more evil than others.

There was a crash, followed by an angry growl, a growl that was met by an equally angry hiss. Sheridan was seriously questioning why he had missed his cat at all during his week away on the island of war. Come to think of it, the week there had been peacefully free of stolen cookies, torn pillows, shredded books, and most importantly bitten tails! ARRGGG!!

"Stop biting my tail, you little monster! That is my fish!"

Really, he just wanted to eat his favorite fish, the fish he had specifically gone into town to purchase when he'd returned to halloween, the fish he had bought for himself. He just wanted to eat his fish in peace, was that really too much to ask?! Apparently it was!

Now in his natural form, Sheridan crouched on four legs, his head lowered as he growled at the cat who was not in the least intimidated, returning the growl with his own. Clearly what we have here is a failure to communicate.

The hissing and growling continued, the dragon and cat facing off as they circled each other, both glaring at the other with menacing intensity. Tails lashed, fur ruffled, fangs barred, oh what a sight they must have been.

"Cat, I will--"

It was a familiar threat, the cat suddenly bristling that much more as he knew the dragon's intention, recognized the freezing tinge on his breath. But that didn't mean he was backing down! Not a chance, that fish was his damn it, he'd found and stolen it fair and square!

But the freezing breath didn't come, the dragon's turned toward the door at the sudden interruption. His expression softened as he saw Angenora, what must have been a smile spreading across his maw.

"Angenora! Hi."

Then Sheridan was in his student form, stepping toward the door to catch his friend in a hug.

"It's good to see you, how were your classes?"

He was pleased to see her here and to know that she seemed to be doing well, he had missed her.

Sheridan's eyes lit up as he looked in the basket. Spookies, how did she know he liked spookies so much? Yes, the best treat ever invented, it'd be wonderful to have some spookies after the long week prior.

"Ah, thank you!"

He was already rummaging through the basket, curious to see what type of spookies and drinks she had brought, though he was not so impolite as to dive in and start devouring them (a politeness they would soon find was not shared by a certain cat).

"We learned about using weapons and how to fight even when we can't use our FEAR or natural abilities. It was exhausting but I learned a lot. Those training dummies hit really hard, I think I still have bruises from it."

He would have said more, but he was soon interrupted as the cat of EVIL made his presence known again. He had been stalking, waiting, oh how he wanted the spookies in that basket, they would be his! His tail lashing, the cat pounced, aiming straight for the basket!

Sheridan had not missed the cat's charge, his head snapping to level an angry glare at the cat. Oh no, not this time, you already stole my fish you cannot have my spookies! A growl, back off cat!

"Don't even think about it!"

Too late, he'd already thought about! And even thought the ghoul had moved to block him, Tanaka was not giving up so easily. There were spookies in that basket, he intended to have them! Little claws emerged, a hiss as he leapt at the ghoul instead. He bet if he bit her she would--oh, she had more spookies? Spookies for him? Well okay, maybe he wouldn't bite her then.

Nevermind that biting her may have led to one evil cat suddenly being turned into a very frozen cat if that glare Sheridan was giving him was any indication.

"You have no idea."

If ever there was an understatement, it was to say that Tanaka liked spookies. Alright the cat had pounced on the bag of spookies, trotting over to his favorite perch on the window sill. This was immediately followed by tearing through the wrapper to voraciously bite into one of the delicious spookies inside. Okay, she could pass into his domain, so long as she brought him spookies.

Meanwhile Sheridan, his basket now safe (for now) from the spookie stealing cat, was again rummaging through the goodies.

"Hmm? Don't worry about it."

He hadn't really even noticed the door until that moment, now looking up with a chocolate spookie in his mouth. It was just a door, easily repaired, it wasn't the worst damage his room had taken.

"These are delicious."

It seemed the wasn't the only one who really liked spookies, the one he had taken from the basket having already been devoured. Turning he stepped back further into the room, setting the basket on his desk. The room was especially large and the ceilings high with multiple large windows. Stepping inside, the air was cold, thin, like that on the high mountains. On one side of the room there were several floor to ceiling book cases overflowing with various volumes and texts. There was no bed, but instead there was a large pile of pillows that showed obvious signs of a dragon sleeping in his natural form. For all the commotion of earlier, the room was surprisingly neat, with only a few scattered books and pillows.

"Please, make yourself comfortable."

Chocolate in the middle? Sheridan had paused in mid stride, turning immediately to dive back into the basket. His tail twitched excitedly as he searched through the basket, he absolutely had to find one of the spookies with the chocolate!

"Hmm? Ah, yes, I think I've read all of these books at least once."

Having found the spookie he sought, he had taken several steps to stand behind her as she looked over his collection of various books and text. The overflowing shelves could have easily passed for a library on their own. If she were to examine the shelves closer, she would have found they were neatly arranged by type, subject, and then alphabetized by author and title. There were several works of non-fiction, texts on physics, astronomy, chemistry, and higher math as well as various other subjects, as well as numerous works of classic literature and fiction (including those of the science fiction variety).

He nodded, taking a bite out of the spookie in his hand (mmm...delicious chocolate).

"I find it far more comfortable than a regular bed."

A pause, several more bites and the spookie had been devoured much like the first. Then he moved to sit on the pile of pillows and cushions beside her, having already selected another spookie from the basket.

"Well, most people would say I'm a Celestial dragon, but my clan uses the name Cosmic. Either would be correct."

A nod, followed by another bite of a spookie.

"Some of them more than that."

Several of the books, especially those in the astronomy and theoretical physics section looked especially worn, as if they had been read many times over. Those that bore the most obvious signs of this had the names Hawking and Kaku on the spines.

There was one book that was very notably out of place, or maybe its place simply was not on the bookshelves but in fact on the table where it rested, beside the telescope set by the window. This book was large, hardbound, and judging from the cover fully illustrated, a guide to the stars, planets, and other bodies of the universe.

"I think both suit us well, but Cosmic sounds more mysterious don't you think?"

And perhaps hinted at a relationship to time as well as space. There were stories of ancient dragons moving beyond the limits of the material plane and various dimensions of existence. Whether or not this true, Sheridan did not know for certain, it may have very well been just a story and nothing more.

"That can be easily remedied, I would be happy to know more about you."

And whatever questions she had for him, he would do his best to answer.

"I can't fly that far, not yet."

He was still too young to reach into space, especially to so far a distance. But one day, one day after a lot of growing, training, and refining of his skills, then he would reach that far. Perhaps some day he would reach even further, but such a feat may have been a lifetime away. He had only heard of ancients reaching into deep space.

"You should never apologize for being yourself."

He gave her a warm smile as he munched on a spookie. He had not judged her on her appearance, nor did he seem surprised by her intelligence. On the contrary he seemed quite delighted, enthralled by her shared love of science and geekdom.

"That book was written by ancients of my clan, but one of them taught me how to create charts as well. Though my attempts certainly pale in comparison."

The cat raised its head, shooting a glance at the ghoul as she dared to stand closer to -his- window sill. He now laid stretched out lazily on the sill, content with a belly full of spookies, for now.
