Agent Seraph

PostPosted: Sat Apr 07, 2012 11:22 pm

There was only one thing that would have gotten TR Grunt Seraph out of bed before 9 AM and that was her growling stomach. She hadn't slept very well the night before due to nightmares of her past (something she despised sharing to anyone-even her own pokemon). She stared down at her plate with a glum look on her face (something that was very uncommon for her). She cursed under her breath at something (or someone) before picking up her fork and stabbing one of the three fried eggs that she had. She really wanted to sleep but her growling stomach had prevented her to sleep in. If only she could get something to help her sleep at night. This was the third night in a row that she had less than 5 hours of sleep. Sighing loudly, she looked around the cafeteria, wondering what she was going to do. She had the entire day off today but she really didn't want to go back to sleep when she was almost fully awake. Shaking her head, she turned her attention back to her breakfast that was going cold fast.

Tambrey still had hints of a stiff, slight limp.
It showed up when she wasn't thinking about it; when she was tired or distracted.

She, perhaps for similar reasons to Seraph or perhaps because of something to do with her room mate, had also found her way to the cafeteria at a slightly earlier time than she likely intended.
She was uniformed already- apparently up with enough time for a shower or a swim as her hair was still slightly damp.

The Grunt walked stiffly across from the door to the counter, taking a bowl of muesli, a spoon and carton of juice (she really wish she could shake that habit- a month with juice packets and now she just picked them up...) with a slight wince.
Oh well.
Somewhere to sit then.
Tambrey found herself approaching Seraph's table- after the cells, she often found herself seeking company- and tentatively hovered her bowl over her intended space.
"G'morning, um... d'you mind if I sit here?"

"Huh?" she said, hearing a voice from in front of her near an empty chair at her table. She raised an eyebrow at the other woman standing at the chair. It took her a few moments to realize that the woman had asked her if she could sit with her.

Seraph waved her hand at the empty chair and nodded her head. "Sure," she said in a slightly more chipper tone of voice than she had used earlier. Not wanting to waste any food, she began to shovel the fried eggs into her mouth. Almost immediately she began to feel more like herself rather than like a grumpy teenager that she was 5 years ago. "So....do you have anything going on today?" she asked the other grunt curiously.

Tambrey smiled and sat, pulling her bowl a little toward her after sitting, then puncturing the foil-covered hole in the top of the juice with a short plastic straw.
"Thanks."

Hm. It wasn't the best breakfast in the world and yet... it was miles better, even after being back, than what she'd been eating; oatmeal and mashed potato were still off her menu for now.

She looked up from her food, having been thinking about the day ahead as she was asked about it.
"Oh... Uh. Beakers, test tubes... Spinning up samples." She grinned. "Exciting stuff like that. 'M in the labs. How about you?"

Uuuugh, nushnurgah.

This was more or less how Aulus felt as he limped into the cafeteria.

Thanks to a combination of painkillers and sleeping pills he'd had a restful enough night, but when the drugs had worn off he'd awoken feeling groggy and anxious. He knew Alex had been working late last night so rather than messaging him or going up to the elite's room to make himself feel better he had opted to seek out company and coffee in the cafeteria. There was bound to be somebody he knew, right?... And if not he could be anti-social and go bother Alex anyway.

Fortunately he quickly spotted not only an acquaintance, but somebody he counted a good friend. Tam was already sitting down with somebody but he was Mr No-Manners and would butt in anyway.... Once he had coffee. Aulus poured a large mug for himself and spooned in three sugars before moving blearily onto food options. Choice seemed far too difficult, and so he settled on the first thing he spotted; fried eggs. With some toast acquired too and brown sauce located it added up to a reasonable breakfast. Taking an orange too as an afterthought he made his way stiffly over to Tambery and the stranger. "Morning Tam," he greeted the familiar woman as he eased himself carefully into the seat beside her. He then turned his red gaze onto the unfamiliar woman and acknowledged her with a nod; the two seemed to be chatting already so he was probably excused not instantly introducing himself and if he wasn’t, he really didn’t give a toss.
