WHERE: Athene's shop in NHC!
WHEN: Midevening
WHAT: While out gathering new material for her book, Zeylla stops at a fashion shop to do some backwards windowshopping watching.

New Hemisect City. It was a definite change from the slow traffic of Four Fronds, and even more drastic a shift from her quiet marshside hive. Crowds of trolls flowed through the streets in the bright, full moonlight like blood pulsing through the veins of some great beast. Zeylla tucked her hands into her sleeves and kept her head lowered as she walked, eyes darting this way and that as trolls rushed past.

She almost dared to question why she had come here in the first place, but the thought was squelched. She was here to study new trolls for her book. Four Fronds had been interesting again as of late, but now there was an almost non-existent flow of interesting characters there, and so Zeylla had decided to travel to NHC to get a glimpse at some new specimens. Of course, Leechmom had been fed before she left, and was most likely resting her catacomb waiting for her troll to come home safely.

Some days Zeylla wished her lusus could leave the safety of their hive and travel with her. This wishful thought was also crushed quickly as she continued on her quest to find the most interesting troll.

Thankfully, the city was full of wild-looking trolls and a seemingly endless supply of drama and action. Sadly, it was also extremely loud. Zeylla had learned this the hard way the first time she came to the city. Why, she had ended up hiding in some garbage receptacles until her temperament was under control(a freakout in the midst of the busiest Alternian city would be highly unwise). This time around she had brought a pair of rather old but still good mufflers to dampen the excessive noise. Some might wonder if this hindered her ability to listen to those around her. Those who wondered this obviously don't know how well the greyblood could read lips.

So far she had watched a group of purplebloods teasing a blushing tealblood at the corner of a brightly lit neon theater, some redbloods crouched off to the side of the walks, playing some sort of dice game while a snotty nosed blueblood demanded that he be repaid for something as a burly-looking troll muscled him out of a store. Of course, these were the interesting things she had seen. There had been a brownblood picking her nose when she thought no one was looking on that park bench three blocks down, and the two trolls getting a little red hot in the alley she had been walking down.

She continued to travel, her mufflers tight to the sides of her head, along the walks, at least, until she got to the main shops. She couldn't help but become a bit of a window shopper when she walked past them. Here was a shop full of husktops, and there a shop selling sweets to get ready for All Eggs Day, and yet another offering weapons and FLARPing gear. But the one that made Zeylla stop was the one with the clothing in it's window. A fashion shop, how...interesting.

And nearly empty, with a large glass window through which she could watch others peacefully. Zeylla didn't even bother to think that the troll who owned the shop might not want her standing there staring at people through the glass like some terrifying mannequin. She didn't bother to think it because she already knew that she honestly didn't care, really.

A cheery bell rang softly as she entered, but Zeylla didn't look for whoever it was who was supposed to greet her. No, she walked right up to the little stage in front of the glass window, and stared idly out at the crowds, her mufflers now around her neck as the ocean of voices outside where dulled to a point she could handle now. A distant roar on the other side of a door.

Athene stared out of her shop's big window, staring at the somewhat normal scene laid out in the city before her. Nothing out of the ordinary tonight, it was classic troll culture being played out in the moonlight, beating ups, gambling, romance and everything in between. Her eyes glanced back down to the shirt she was repairing in her hands, extensive rips up and down the somewhat frayed shirt as a half naked redblood stood in front of her anxiously waiting for her to finish the sewing. A couple of blank shirts he had already purchased laid in a bag and this was her last job to do for him and sadly, she was nearly done. Her eyes flickered back up to the window before back to the troll before her, glancing him up and down.

It was obvious the troll before her had been in a rather violent kismesis moment, his shirt was torn to threads with long glases up the side and back, ones that she was barely able to fix. Red blood, dried so it looked darker than it should have, crusted around his nose but he hadn't obviously cared enough to wipe it off. A black eye accompanied his face, it ringing in a startling array of red to purple hues on his face. But what gave it away the most were the "bruises" that adorned his neck and torso and quite honestly, his lips that were torn to shreds from what Athene assumed was violent kissing. Not that any of this information had been given to her, of course as her policy was no questions asked, but it was pretty evident. If Athene had however, been a little less serious and if it wasn't a professional moment, she might have even smirked at the so called "bruises" around the troll's neck. But none the less she tossed in a red scarf in the bag, knowing the troll would have to hide it sooner or later.

Shirt finished soon enough, Athene tossed it to the troll in front of her, bag soon following. He had already paid and so the redblood scampered out the door quickly, Athene watching him. Not a few moments later a purpleblood slunk up beside him as the redblood struggled to get his shirt on, a smirk adorning the other's face. The pair began to bicker as they walked away and, Athene noticed, there seemed to be a red colored spade on a ring that the purpleblood wore. The red was extremely similar to the color she had just serviced and a smirk flickered across Athene's face as she realized how well she had guessed. Returning back to her knitting, and realizing how peculiar that ring was but nontheless pretty, she sighed somewhat contentedly as she realized how peaceful and normal today was. Everything was in order, from her clothing orders to her dyes and she had been having a steady stream of customers today. Yes, everything was perfect.

Settling into the soothing rhythm of her knitting, when her door opened once more she called out a simple "Hello." and finished her last row, looking up at the troll to come up expectantly. But instead, there was a beeline made to the window and a rather confused Athene looking at the now observing troll. There was a pause as Athene waited and observed, wondering if the troll was going to buy anything or just stare out the window. But as the minutes ticked on, and Athene's annoyance grew, it became somewhat apparent this was the troll's intent. Standing behind her counter now, she said "Miss, are you going to buy anything or simply stare out my window all night? If the latter, could you please leave? You are probably scaring away my customers."

Zeylla had not even noticed the greenblood(obviously greenblooded, look at the way she showed it off with her clothing) until she was spoken to. To be honest, she had been watching some very interesting trolls. That was what she enjoyed doing after all. A brownblood had just walked passed covered in what she assumed was his own blood. He was speaking rather animatedly to a blueblood who did nothing but frown and glare and seemingly wish the brownblood go away. It was terrible, all that blood, but she couldn't help but find amusement in the taller, stiffer looking blueblood's frustrated looks and angry gestures-violent points in random directions that she assumed to be 'GO AWAY' gestures.

She was leaning over rather far to watch to two as they moved out of the window's line of view when Athene had spoken. Now she stared at the troll and gave her the usual blank look that she offered to anyone who interrupted her watching. How was she supposed to get ideas for her book if all these stupid trolls kept talking to her?

"You are interrupting me," she stated blandly, giving the greenblood a look over as she spoke. She was very fashionable indeed, seemingly the owner of this shop from the way she talked about the window and customers, and Zeylla remembered the way that blueblood had been muscled from the shop before. She glanced to the side over so discretely, wondering if this shop had a large, rough looking troll hiding somewhere as well. She had no urge to get physical with anyone today, but neither did she wish to leave this store. It was so quiet, she could take her mufflers off and think calmly.

"Since I am trying to decide what I want to buy," she decided, finishing promptly before looking around and feigning terribly interest in the items in the shop. She wasn't actually much for fashion honestly, but if buying something would mean the greenblood would leave her be, she would get something.

In the name of literary advancement, of course.

Athene frowned, her mouth settling into a tight line as she stared at the other. Her blood color was impossible to tell from all the grey and while there was a chance she was a lowblood, someone Athene could get out of her shop without getting in trouble, there was an equal chance she was higher than her and could get in trouble. Irritating, trolls who hid there blood. She couldn't suck up and appear like she cared, nor could she at least give a little kindness to the lowbloods while appearing to be indifferent.

But she was apparently going to buy something, or so she said, and Athene could use the money. Business running wasn't cheap and while she wasn't scraping the bottom of the barrel, she wasn't exactly the richest one out there either. But blood color anonymity and money getting aside, she still could be a little firm in getting her away from her window. "While I do suggest to most customers to take their time when deciding, do note that all my wares are not by my window. There is plenty to look at along the shelves and even near my counter. Athene said, her eyes narrowing a little. She watched the other for a few moments, before her eyes going to the door as a customer walked in, followed by another. A purpleblood, which was unusual, swaggered up to her counter, clutching a jacket that was adorned with a number of holes, followed by an annoyed looking yellowblood that held a number of other clothing items.

The two didn't look to be in any relationship, except for maybe the purpleblood bullying the yellowblood, and the jacket was dumped on her counter, followed by a couple of words that sounded like "Fix my stuff and I'll pay you." Unphased by the request, she picked up the jacket with one hand and studied it, other hand reaching for her thread and needle while the yellowblood put the rest of the pile on the counter. Some holes looked oddly precise, like they were made by bullets, and a quick glance at the purple blood confirmed her suspicion that they were recent as the bandages on their arms matched up where a few holes were in the jacket. That must have been an interesting story. Threading her needle, she started repairing the jacket, while giving a glance at the pile left. It looked like a few shirts, common fare, with a couple of them being the yellowblood's. Maybe her thoughts on their relationship was wrong.

As she repaired the Jacket, she watched the purpleblood's hands with interest, looking for a possible ring, which had become popular on highbloods lately, or indication these two had done anything. Her eyes sought the prize and she was treated to a club, holding the purpleblood's evident color, the yellowblood's and then a brownblood's final. Auspistices were rare and already she was envisioning how their relationship went, as she finished the jacket and started on a shirt. Maybe the Purpleblood and Yellow flipped between flushed and pale? Or perhaps a kismesis that went out of hand between the yellowblood and the brown? Athene smiled as she worked on the shirt, envisioning ideas as the yellowblood and purpleblood bickered slightly about some odd topic she wasn't paying attention to.

Zeylla stared at the greenblood, listening absently to what she said. Not that it would be taken to heart or anything; she was quiet happy ignoring the shopkeeper's undertones. This might have caused more strife between the two if it was not for the second group arriving. The greyblood watched them idly for a moment, then took advantage of the moment to peek back out the window.

It wasn't all that exciting really. The large wave of trolls had passed as time grew later, and now everything outside seemed so bland. Zeylla was not entertained, nor amused. What was she supposed to watch now? She pulled her eyes away from the window and glanced around the store.

Of course, it was only the couple and the greenblood, and so she was left with the choice of leaving or staying. Leaving seemed boring honestly, and perhaps she would find entertainment in sewing, or maybe hear a snippet of conversation from a easy viewing point.

She tried to be discreet about moving over to the greenblood's side, but her presence was noticed almost immediately by the huffy looking yellowblood, who gave her a look and asked, "Does she work for you?".

So much for being unnoticeable. Zeylla frowned a little, just a little, and tried to ignore the yellowblood's comment and watch the shopkeeper stitch. She was extremely efficient and her hands flashed with the needle. It was almost soothing to watch, which made leaving very very do not want. So Zeylla perked up and-ignoring what ever the greenblood planned to say- said, "Yes."
