Tony was in the back room. There was a little sign on the front desk next to a hand bell that said 'ring for service!' in a happy, friendly font. He would hear it from the back, and come to help anyone who needed him as his job required.
It was slow in the library at the moment. Around lunch, it usually got quieter. Everyone was eating, or enjoying the high sun of a nice day, or hanging out with friends at school. Whatever the reason, it was usually a very peaceful time for the library, and thus the librarians.
Tony took that time to go into the back and rough sort some returns that had been piling up.
It wasn't as though he had not been coming to work. he had. He'd been there, but only in body and his work ethic had not been at its highest as of late. Before he had been sparked back into life, at least. So there was some back up, evidence of a lazy and distracted librarian, which Tony now grimaced at and chided himself for endlessly.
He was alphabetizing the books by author and subject, but not too specifically. He would do that when he was making a cart to take the books out and shelve. For now, it was just finding the subject, and then putting the B's with the B's and the F's with the F's.
Rough sorting was an easy, mindless job, and one of the many ones Tony liked. But then, he was literally in a room surrounded by books. How could he complain about that?
