The Open Canopy General setting: The open canopy is a series of simple wooden structures that may see at first, rather precarious, especially while climbing upwards. The structures themselves are actually rather sound and ironically, rather comfortable looking, similar in style to the dorm rooms, only much larger. Foliage and trees cover up a good portion of the view, but from the ground up, like all the other structures in the clan, the drop down would be rather far. OOC: EVENT ROLLS AND PROMPT MECHANICS: - When your student has arrived in this setting, you can CHOOSE to roll a 100-sided dice at any point in time. You can only do this twice per RP you make. Match your dice roll to the results below for a prompt/ small reaction that your student may discover. RP out results accordingly. 1-20: The area itself seems rather abandoned, though as you look a little past the area, you can see a few Clan members flying away, seemingly towards the portal exit. It looks like they're in a hurry, and heavily armed. 21 - 40: Black feathers are scattered all over the room. It looks like two clan members got into a fight here, judging from the heavy scratches on the ground, though what exactly happened? (see below for horsemen point prompt) - Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here! 41 - 60: You hear a strange shrieking noise, as you look out, you notice a series of bird-like minipets perched next to this place. They are staring at you keenly for some reason.... maybe they want food? 61 - 80: You notice a single painting in the room, featuring a rather bloody, but illustrative, depiction of several Clan members of war cutting off the heads of what look like humans. 81- 100: The small fireplace inset in stone seems to contain bits and pieces of burnt, charred notes. Only the edges remain, revealing - maybe some sort of map?

After her ... incident with the dummy in the crafts room, Danny had just run. She wasn't sure where she was running to, or what she was looking for. She'd just run. Eventually she found a vacant treehouse in the open canopy.
Someone had been there recently- you could tell because the fireplace was still going. Maybe it was the heat that had drawn her to this particular treehouse, but Danny didn't care. She'd take any small space right now.
The small space ended up being a fireplace. There had been some sort of map in it, but Danny hadn't even notice. She'd brushed all the ash aside and just sat next to the fire, head idly resting on the brick of the fireplace. She couldn't fall asleep though. Her one place that was best for nap times wasn't even workingg.
She just kept picturing those glyphs. Over and over, never stopping. The buzzing, humming, strumming, thrumming. It wouldn't stop. She felt like she was going crazy. Her eyes close and she whimpered softly to herself. She really wanted to be alone right now- no one could see her like this.

Alone was the one thing Rikki had never been good at letting her be. Not on purpose this time, but rather by chance, he ascended to the very house she'd found. He'd been on the lookout for more of those little round token things, wanting to compare the marks on them to the glyphs he'd seen. Finding afire demoness - his fire demoness - curled up in the fireplace hadn't been on the agenda.
"Danny?" He quickly went to kneel beside her. "You alright, Danny?"

Danny immediately fell into Rikki's arm letting out tiny whimpers as the glyphs nearly took over again. Her mind came back to the small fire and the treehouse, instead of far off under the observation point base.
"Rikkiiiii," was all she could breathe out as she fell apart entirely, squeezing him close to her, trying to convince herself this was the real part. She was so jackdamn tired, she couldn't tell what was what anymore. "Rikki it won't go away- they won't go away!"

Rikki sat on the ground and pulled her into his lap. He was frantic in trying to calm her, but didn't know what would work. He whispered hushed reassurances to her and held her as he rocked back and forth. He kissed any part of her he could - her hair, her forehead, her cheek. He even scooted a bit closer to the fire, knowing that was an added comfort to her.
"What's wrong? What won't go away?"

The hysteria had worn off for the moment and Danny let out a breath of reassured relaxation. Even the buzzing was fading now. As Rikki kissed her she felt herself melting into him, into reality, into warmth.
"Sorry I didn't meant to freak out like that," she said quietly, realizing what a spaz she must've looked like. She was really glad now that it was Rikki and not someone else. She might've scared anyone else off.
She sat there for a moment, her cheeks red with embarrassment, and then said, "Did you go in the cave .... the one under the ladder thing." She shifted slightly in his lap so he could sit more comfortably, rather than the mess of limbs they'd been moments ago.

He was relieved when she calmed, and he shook his head at her apology. He didn't care if she'd freaked out, as long as he could prevent it from happening again. He really did not want her freaking out anymore.
At the mention of the cave, room thing, he shuddered. "Yeah, I did. It was really creepy down there." He frowned and furrowed his brows. "You didn't go down there did you?" Please say no, please say no.

Danny adjusted herself until the bridge of her nose was pressed against Rikki's neck, and she could rest her head on his shoulder. Her arms crept along his chest until they rested gently near his shoulders, beneath the folds of his hood.
"I did. I keep hearing the buzzing- and ... and it keeps drawing me back Rikki." She squeezed him, reminding herself that he was there. "I just keep thinking that if I could become that energy ... I'd be able to protect everyone- especially the clan." She shook her head a little bit, but not enough to move it off his shoulder. "No ... that's not right I'm not part of the clan." She said the words like she was reminding herself of that fact.
She sighed and looked up at him. "See what I mean?"

He rubbed her back gently as she spoke and kissed her hair, and when he got too upset about how that room had effected her he held her tighter, frowning. "You don't need to protect anyone," he told her in a voice so low and so quiet that it was obviously just for her. "You don't need to protect the clan, you don't need to protect me, you don't need to protect any of your friends. You just need to be you." He framed her face between his dark hands and ducked his head until he was looking directly into her eyes. "No one wants you to be anyone but you, and this girl who wants to protect everyone? She's not you. So don't worry about the energy or what it can do. It's dangerous, and you just need to ignore it."

Danny nodded slowly, soaking up each of Rikki's words like they were from Jack himself. When he cupped her face, a light, more Danny-like smile crossed her face and she nodded, putting her own hands on either of his wrists.
"I will. I will okay!" she laughed softly and snuggled him for a moment, her eyes transfixed on the fire. It was then that she remembered the strange papers that had been there when she first came in.
She moved off of his lap and crawled into the fire (quite literally), pulling out the notes and half burned map she'd found. She backed up and showed the papers to Rikki. "Oh yeah, I found these earlier. D'you think they mean anything?"

Her diving into the fire freaked him out a bit, but he didn't say anything. He just silently rubbed his chest and waited for her to crawl back out with whatever was in her hand. He squinted at them until they were no longer glowing at the edges with heat, and then he took them from her to look at.
"Kind of look like map edges, I guess? Maybe it was a map of the island or something. Wonder why they burned it."

"Hm," was all Danny commented on the matter, tossing the map back into the fire, and crawling back into his lap. She could really care less about some map.
She noticed he was clawing at his chest again, and took his hand in hers, pulling it away from his chest. She smiled and said, "You should really stop that."

He looked at her with big innocent eyes and shrugged. "Stop what?" He asked, cuddling her to his chest. Like running his hand through his hair, rubbing his chest had become much just a subconscious habit. Perhaps one day, when he was older than his parents, or perhaps their parents, whoever they were, he'd be bald with a big old hole in his chest, a sign of all his stresses and the life he'd led.
"We should probably get out of here before a horseman gets back and gets upset."

Danny glanced back the fire one last time, and then gave a, "Yup," in agreement. She let go of his hand and brushed the extra ash off, leaving little black marks on her legs. Oops.
"Rikki?" she said hesitantly, "Make sure I don't go into that cave, okay?" She gave a frustration breath of air and then said, "Aughhh I wanna go home." She liked this island but, .... well she was getting homesick.
