He rarely ventured out of the shrine, let alone at night. It wasn't that he feared the dark, but felt uncomfortable in the woods at night. Spirit activity was stronger when the sun went down, and his nerves remained calm at home. But tonight was different. It was the night a meteor shower and Cassiel wasn't going to pass that up! The tall exorcisma packed some sugar cookies, green tea, and water into a bag before he grabbed a blanket and left the shrine. There was an open field not far from his home that would have a perfect view of the sky. Smiling to himself, he almost had a bounce to his step as he ventured for his destination.

The field itself was large and trees surrounding it everywhere you looked. As Cassiel walked through the grass, he noticed the moisture collecting around his legs. Dew covered the grasses and night blooming flowers. It was beautiful, the way the moon reflected against the white petals kissed with water drops. It was the perfect home away from home for those that enjoyed the comforts of nature. Finding a nice flat spot in the middle of the field, the tall man spread out the blanket first before plopping down to get comfortable. The 'show' hadn't started just yet, which gave him time to brew his tea and nibble on the cookies he brought. His actions were fluid and relaxed, at least until he felt the presence of someone else near by. A majin at that! Golden eyes began to search the woods as he put his guard up, trying not to look uncomfortable.

"I know you're out there, so don't be alarmed. There's no need to keep your distance." Cassiel muttered out loud, knowing the other was at least within ear shot. "I'm not out here to cause trouble, simply to watch the meteor shower. You can join me if you wish..." Although this person was a Majin, he felt no ill will towards them. Majin were people just as much as humans were. Plus, he didn't feel any wrath or anger from the person, he simply couldn't pinpoint where the man was. "I have some delicious tea and fresh cookies here if you're interested." He was trying to give off an inviting atmosphere, hoping the other would join him.

Nighttime had always struck Bardhyl as an extremely potent, magical time. When he was young, it was the time that people put aside their work to play, to enjoy what his family labored to make, to come together as a community. Though his community had consisted solely of his family and occasional visits with farmers and barkeepers, he felt more connected when he looked up at the night sky. The stars had always been his companions, and as he glanced over his shoulder, he reassured himself that they continued to be there when he needed them.

Rezart bobbed along next to Bardhyl, a wisp of flame weaving through the trees. Above his familiar, he could see pinpricks of light above the canopy of the forest. They seemed to shine brighter than normal, and he took that as a sign that something was about to happen. "Let's find a clearing," he said softly. Rezart shimmered and changed course, emerging a few minutes later at the edge of a field with Bardhyl following close behind.

Once he reached the final line of trees, he paused, studying the figure in the distance. For once, Bardhyl didn't charge ahead, as he usually did when he felt people nearby. His pause wasn't out of shyness or a desire for solitude; he was always happiest when in the company of others. But that person looked different from anyone he'd ever seen before, and he was so taken in watching that it took him a moment to realize he was being spoken to. Moreover, he was being offered an invitation, and he wasn't about to decline.

"I'd be glad to join you!" Bardhyl called, quickening his pace until he was toeing the edge of the blanket. "If you don't mind sharing, that is. I'm afraid we didn't bring anything special." Other than themselves, which Bardhyl usually liked to think was quite enough. But he was feeling a bit outclassed by his new acquaintance, who was definitely interesting. He took in the ears and the unusual garments and brushed his sleeves together, eager to make a good impression.

Rezart brightened slightly as Bardhyl stepped into an elaborate bow, providing a makeshift spotlight. "Bardhyl Idrizi, at your service." One hand flapped at the star, which dipped in its own version of a bow. "My associate, Rezart." Calling him a Familiar felt like bragging, and while that was acceptable under certain circumstances, he didn't feel this situation warranted it. Introduction over, he brushed his sleeves together and took a seat on the blanket, stretching his legs out in front of him. The meteor shower would start at any moment, but now he was more interested in his host. The stars could wait; they always had.

Cassiel watched the man approach from the tree line, smiling softly as he seemed just as eager for company as Cassiel was. He didn't stand though, staying seated upon the blanket as the majin introduced himself. He treated majin and humans no different, and thus he smiled and extended his hand once his guest was seated. "My name is Cassiel. It's a pleasure to meet you. Well, both you and your associate. I have to admit, I am a bit jealous of your companion, he seems to sparkle like the night sky."

Shifting to relax back against his elbows, golden eyes looked up towards the topic of discussion. "I assume you came out to see the meteor shower as well? I try to see it every time it comes around. The area around my home is much too dense to see the sky so I come here." His eyes moved from the sky to his small tea kettle that announced rather loudly, that it was ready. Sitting up, Cassiel poured tea into the cup he had, and then offered it to Bardhyl.

"Since we're waiting... how about you tell me a little about yourself? I'll do the same of course. But I love to know about my guests. Although we're not at my shrine, you're still a guest to my, well, blanket."

If Cassiel was aiming to please, he was off to an excellent start. Bardhyl couldn't brighten in quite the same way that his familiar could, but he definitely perked up considerably and his smile became more genuine. Rezart was also pleased, taking the time to shine even brighter before Bardhyl looked and him and shook his head slightly. It was nice to be appreciated, but if Rezart kept it up, he would outshine the spectacle they were there to see.

"Thank you," Bardhyl said warmly, stretching his legs as Rezart came to rest on his shoulder. "We both appreciate your compliments, and your hospitality. You assume correctly, though I admit I had no idea that it was a regular occurrence." Much as Bardhyl loved the stars, he hadn't studied their patterns or sightings much. "I've always loved the sky, and the surprises it holds." Though perhaps not everyone was surprised as he was.

He took the cup from Cassiel with a deep nod of thanks, but hesitated before drinking. Despite the number of times he'd been asked about himself, the question never got easier to answer. There were certain things that he definitely was not comfortable sharing, even with a kind stranger, and others that were just difficult subjects to discuss. "I'm travelling," he said slowly. "We're travelling, I mean. To Lumena Castle Town, to offer our services. But we're not in any particular hurry. Nobody expects us, and we enjoy travelling, especially when it brings us in contact with interesting people."

Bardhyl winked and raised his cup. "To meetings! May they be beneficial to all parties, and may there be many more to come."

Cassiel smiled when he tapped their tea cups together. "To meetings." He echoed, bringing the cup to his lips for a delicious sip of his tea. But while he sat there, he couldn't help but glance at the man who sat beside him, glancing to the familiar every once in awhile. It must be nice, and possibly at times annoying, to have a companion always at your side. "Lumena is rather large, so I wish you luck when you enter the city. I was lost for hours when I traveled there, swore to never go back as well. It's not my thing to be surrounded by so many people. The atmosphere is not one that's pleasant to me and ... I had several bad experiences." He recalled the times when people stared at him, not only for his height and unusual dress, but his ears were rather hard to hide, and the refusal of sales simply because of his race. Humans were too frightened to see the good guy he truly was.

"Have you traveled far? I enjoy traveling myself but I rarely go far from my home. I prefer to stay within my comfort zone, and all of the towns are beyond that. I only go when I need to stock up on food supplies, or if I'm extremely bored." He explained, lowering the cup to rest it upon his knee. Again he was watching Bardhyl, curious about the man. There was something interesting about him; he just couldn't put his finger on it quite yet.

Tearing his eyes away from his companion for the evening, he looked up to the sky once more. "I live in a shrine near here. Though trees surround it so I can't see the night sky too clearly. Thus why I traveled out here to watch the meteor shower. My family used to come out here every year, but my parents left the shrine to me this past year and left to travel the world together. So now my days are quite and rather uneventful." Looking to Bardhyl again, he smiled at the man. "Tonight, however, has been full of many surprises."
