I read somewhere that there's some bill in Tennessee (or something like that) that will allow bullies to bully others for their sexual preference. I lost the link where I read about it, but... what... the... f*ck?

I am a huuuuge supporter for gay rights, and reading that pissed me the f*ck off. Nobody should be bullied; not for religion, sexuality, color, race, anything. Who the F*CK thought they could make a bill that'll make bullying alright? Tons of people die from bullying, whether it be in the process of being bullied or the victim commits suicide. So what sparked in that sh*tfaces head, whoever made this bill, to make him/her think that bullying is alright? What if they were gay, and they were bullied constantly because of it? WHAT THE F*CK THEN?!

I hope that worthless piece of sh*t bill gets turned down, and that waste of oxygen sh*tbrain rots. My faith in humanity drops each and every day that I'm alive, and it never seems to stop. I mean, whatever happened to "America - Home of the free"? "Liberty and justice for all"?

And man, I was having such a nice day.

It's weird, technically during school freedom of speech is already lessened due to bullying issues, so why the heck do only 'religious' people get to speak out against gays because of their beliefs? Shouldn't Muslims also get to speak out against Christians because of their beliefs?
(One of their strongest beliefs is to not have religious imagery, such as how Christians have the cross, depictions of Jesus, Mary, saints etc and to only worship and pray to one God, not idols) It's a similar concept, just instead of speaking out because of a person's sexuality or lifestyle it's speaking out against how they practice their religion, and allowing them to do so because of their religious beliefs. I'd be willing to bet money that no state would allow that law to pass even though it's the same concept.

Was it this article?

Just in case anyone's wondering, I'm a deist and I also support gay rights. I might talk to one of my friends
who is an active Christian to see how she feels on the subject. This is one
of those sorts of hot-button issues that I love to talk about.

Yeah, exactly. It's not fair. It's ridiculous, it's pathetic. This is pretty much one of the many reasons why I hate most people and why I'm losing faith in humanity. I hope to see the day when homosexual people are respected and accepted by EVERYBODY.

Hm, I don't really remember actually. I've been on the lookout for the post I read about all this bullsh*t. I ain't stopping until I find it.

Ah, well I hope she's not one of those homophobic Christians. Those are annoying.

One of my best friends nearly died because of bullies. A few times back when we were in middle school, and then last fall from others. I really doubt anyone would be stupid or heartless enough to pass a bill allowing it. But like you my faith in humanity waivers at times. People surprise me all of the time. I think the problem will be the freedom of speech. But on te other side you start to hit harassment. So hopefully whosever voting on the bill thinks clearly.

Yeah, and that's a serious issue. My heart breaks whenever I hear a story about someone who takes their own life because of some bully. I have a friend who I love dearly who is gay, and I fear that fateful day (should it come) when a bully pushes him way too far. I doubt it too, but you never know. Most people are stupid, heartless, pathetic worms who only care about themselves. (Don't know if that's true, or if that's just my hatred talking) Freedom of Speech - what is that anymore? It's like it doesn't exist. America is supposed to be a FREE F*CKING COUNTRY! I hope so too, but I don't think there's enough clear thinking people out there anymore. So... if this bill gets passed, I'm just gonna... I don't know... this is seriously pissing me off.

It is a free country, that's how people can make bills like this and bully. Unfortunately peoples hate and narrow mindedness make it so something like being free to be gay is not so free.

Mmm, well... for all who will read; THIS is exactly why I'm so bitter.
If I was able to, I would make a push to stop all of this nonsense and chaos. But I can't, because I'm too young. All I can do right now is voice my opinion, but my screams, pleads, and voice are unheard.

I hate that ESPECIALLY politicians only seem to care about people
like them (White, Christian, and middle to high class) and put everyone else
on the back burner. A lot of people do it, sometimes unintentionally, but
it's my belief that things like racism, sexism and sexuality-ism won't end
until we all quit making special rules to protect each and instead have basic rights
and rules for everyone and quit trying to protect just one group of people at a time. When
there's just people looking out for just their people that's part of where
these issues spew from. Break the race/orientation/gender barriers and just look out for humans.
(And well, animals and the environment too.)

My theory is: Do we need to write a special rule that says allow all gays and lesbians to marry? No, just amend the rule to allow all humans to marry as long as they're at the legal age.
No single race or anything needs special treatment and it works both ways, how right now only straight couples can marry in most states, well gays don't necessarily need special treatment either.
They need inclusion into the law.
Inclusion of every race, orientation, sex, gender, religious affiliation, nationality etc in the most basic laws instead of making special laws for each seems to be the best way to go IMO.

She's not a homophobic Christian at all. The fact that her parents are such
stereotypical non-accepting Christians that think they're so high and mighty and look
down on people that are different religions, gay, or have different views
made her that way. I'm glad she's open minded and I can't
wait to tell her about this Tennessee bill.

TL;DR To politicians: Focus on the solution, not the issue. Fix it quickly and
quit parading the issue around because it's a straightforward solution:
Humans are humans. We don't need these specialized barriers that divide
society to no end. Streamline our differences because we're one of the few
countries that is such a diverse melting pot.

Oh... wow. Her parents are the kind of Christians that make all Christians look bad. And that's good that she is open minded. I like her. Heh, I wonder what she's gonna say about it.

Aaawwww thank yououuuuuuuu soo muchhh xD That means a lot, it really does. A lot of it comes from the fact that I've had experience with so many
different types of people and from Mrs. Kent's little speech about the census.

I went over to her house once...the entire time before I got there I kept
asking if they were going to do some like...secret initiation where
they'd ask me about my religion and hobbies and whatever. She tells
me about how they always complain about her doing normal teenager things
like being goofy, listening to secular music and whatnot, and I said
"Dude, if we switched homes for a week, they'd be begging for you back after an hour and
would kiss the ground you walked on xD"

It turned out that they didn't ask much but they did keep asking all
these nosy-ish questions and never really told me or my dad much about
themselves. Overall it seemed more like a faux attempt to
seem like the good ol' fashioned American samaritan and I
believe Kyle (that's her name) when she says that they are nothing like that
when no guests are over and they try waaaay to hard to make her into
the perfect little Christian woman when she's already
such a great person already. Her parents are so worried
about her becoming 'corrupted' that it makes both of us sick.

They really do give Christians a bad name
and it makes me sad because a lot of people assume Muslims are all
democracy haters when I've met several Muslims myself and they
were so friendly.. I don't like it when a few bad eggs give a whole
group a bad name.

Haha, you're welcome. c:

Ahaha, that's usually why whenever I was at my friend's house, I never dared speak anything about my religion or anything. I did one time, though, say that I was a big fan of Marilyn Manson, and since then... they were just all weird towards me/my family. Holy sh*t, Kyle's parents kinda sound like my friend's parents when it comes to "corrupting". They were so worried that I'd corrupt their innocent, little daughter into "devil-worshiping" music, break the law, abuse drugs and alcohol, when really... I was doing everything the complete opposite! I kept her away from the "devil-worshiping" music, I would never intentionally break the law, nor would I abuse drugs/alcohol, let alone corrupt her into abusing them.

Mhm, I have too. There was a nice Muslim girl at my school once, and everyone was just really judgmental of her. It made me sick. But, me and her got along pretty well before she moved away. I even tried to convince her to put fear into their hearts, but she said that it's really bad character and not a smart thing to do. xD

Yeah, that's exactly the same thing I was afraid of too, asking about my musical preferences and religious affiliation. At time time I never really got into Marilyn Manson yet. Technically I think Creed and Skillet count as Christian bands because some of their songs are related to God and whatnot. I'm not sure though. They'd probably prefer if I listened to the local Christian music station though, like they do rolleyes

In my history class there's a girl who's Hindu and a girl from Pakistan, even before
I met them I never really had any prejudices about Hindus and Muslims but
they really solidified my conclusion-- that they were people just like anyone else. There's good
and bad people everywhere of every kind. Heck my best guy friend is openly gay although he never really told me himself until this week, Lisa told me. I was surprised although there were times that I wondered about it since yeah, he's a bit different, I only thought of him as a friend like any other, not as my gay friend, straight friend or anything. It's too bad that he is afraid to
tell his parents and they keep pestering him about when he'll get a girlfriend. I feel
bad that I can't tell my dad the simplest of things and he has that issue hanging over his head.
Darn our stupid, stupid world D:

Yeah. Sometimes I regret ever blurting it out. It makes me wonder what they'll be like if I never said anything about the music I listen to nor my religion. And they kinda seemed a little weird when I constantly wore black clothing and had heavy makeup. But eh, they're in Florida now. They'll probably forget about me.

Mhm, exactly. People are people, good or bad. Just like one of my friends say, "Stop the hate and move on. If they aren't interfering with your life, then you shouldn't interfere with theirs." Aww, one day he's gonna have to tell them. If they give him bullsh*t and stress because he's homosexual, then you're gonna have to be there for him every step of the way. And I'll be there... in spirit form. Harrharrharr. It's kinda like my friend Kevin. He was kind of scared to tell me that he was gay because he had no idea how I was gonna react, but once he told me... I've always loved him like a child. I even boosted up his confidence that he should be proud to be gay, be open about it, and if anybody cut him down and pushed him in the gutter, he should stand right back up and show them that he's stronger and won't put up with any bullsh*t. That's what I say to a LOT of people who get picked on for any reason.

And yes, our world is very very stupid indeed. emo

Yeah, when he does I'll be right by his side the whole way, I know
how it feels to have parents that don't really accept who you are and I remember
how it felt when my stepmom would always tease me for how I am. I'm just really, really
glad that my school is more open about it. We have a Gay - Straight alliance club, an Equality club
and everything, it's pretty great. He's surrounded by friends that love him so I know that
if anything does happen that we'll all be there for him.

Weird, Florida seems to have a really heavy Christian population. Almost everyone
I know goes to church every week or so.
I really like that, "Stop the hate and move on" that's a great quote to go by :3

Ah, well my parents are always accepting. But, on the other hand, I have thousands of people who don't accept me for anything. So, I can understand how it is to not be accepted for anything. But uhm, yeah I'm glad that if your friend goes through problems, all of you would be there for him. I'm thinking of finding a local LGTB (LGBT... however the letters go) group and joining it. One of my friends said that I'll definitely brighten up the group if I do join. :3

Haha, weird. Mhm, I do. I only have a select few, and they're all really great. But most of them have moved away, and I'm here with two now. And we always have each other's backs. I especially have my friend Kevin's back since a lot of people pick on him. I swear, when he's sad/upset... I just want to cry a million oceans.
