Pretty soon I'm getting a refurbish laptop from my school and I'm gonna download GIMP and i need tips on drawing and coloring on the program
personally i don't draw the stuff on the computer but that's just me I hand draw it first for a base then i use gimp to edit it... here is a set of tutorials I have made specifically for gimp feel free to use them
smile tutorialsAlso here are some
Gimp Hot keys (short cuts)
Ctrl C = Copy
Ctrl V = Paste
Ctrl X= Cut
Ctrl Z= Undo
Ctrl Y= Redo
+ = Zoom in
- = Zoom out
Ctrl S= Save
you must hold both buttons at once ^^
except on the zoom keys which only have one button
Those are the basic ones I use
HUGE TIP!
If you aren't done with the picture you are working on only save it as .png or .xcf
.xcf saves it perfectly as is and will even save the selection you have right that second which is amazing.
Antializing is bad always click to unselect it! it makes a horribly blurry outline anywhere you select which makes detailed coloring a huge pain! (however it is great when photo editing)
other than that just play with the program its a ton of fun.
