	Sorrel and her owlcat were stalking a rabbit, Sorr had a new plant she'd like to pair with it. Unfortunately rabbits were hard to catch alone, just as hard with an owlcat. They could hunt but weren't nearly as good at rabbits as other predators. Mostly because rabbits and owlcats were nearly the same size, and this one was a plump little bunny. Sorr crouches down a bit, hiding behind some bushes. Carnation was on the other side of the rabbit, ready to herd it right to Sorr.

	Rabbit was usually not her first choice when it came to hunting. They had a tendency to be skittish and too many were little more than fur-skin-bone. She would rather not waste her time catching something so unsatisfying but she was hungry -- right this moment -- and waiting for something bigger, something better, was not a happy thought. There were things like hunger -- gnawing and nagging deep in her stomach -- that outweighed patience and planning. She had caught sight of it and set her hound on its scent. A shot of glee had run through her body upon finding that it was going into the wind and would not smell either the kin or dog that wanted to eat it. And it was fat. She felt almost giddy at the thought of an easy catch that had meat on its bones. Not giddy enough to run up and attempt snatching it but giddy all the same. The doe had slipped into the underbrush while her hound crawled ever so slowly after the succulent snack. It had not taken her long to get into position and so absorbed in the treat she'd surely have, she did not sense the other kimeti or the owlcat that were, too, hoping to catch the rabbit. In fact all of them were so dreadfully focused on the rabbit none of them noticed a fetching cheetah had also taken an interest in the prey.

	Sorr had no sooner signaled Carnation to flush the rabbit then a cheetah came tearing through. In a flash it was all over, the rabbit now the cheetah's dinner. "Well that was a waste.." Sorr said, disappointed at loosing one of her favorites. She stands up, turning to look for a new path to follow, when she sees a doe. "Oh, hello there. You were after the rabbit too?" She asks, though it's obvious she was. Sorr is more using it as an ice breaker then being oblivious to the apparent.

	The long tail sped out of sight and she was not pleased. She rose from her crouched position and glowered, as though perhaps the cheetah -- wherever it was -- might drop dead if she tried hard enough. As wonderful as learning such an ability would be, the time she had to continue attempting it was quickly stolen. She found her head nodding in agreement; it was an absolute waste. The fact no one should have been able to speak with words had her narrowed gaze snapping to the direction of the voice, eyes softening a fraction upon seeing Sorrel. Well then, she wasn't losing her mind, only a meal of rabbit. The question begged to be answer sarcastically, she thought, but she held it back. "Naturally," she replied, voice dry and unamused, "the fat rabbit would attract...others." Competition simply did not seem the right word.

	"Yeah, should of thought about that. Oh well." Sorr says, giving a shrug. Rabbit may be her favorite, but she prefers vegetation over meat any day. "So, what else do you eat?" She asks with curiosity.

	Hunger made her disagreeable; if one considered baiting a stalking unfed caiman with a dead boar, disagreeable. In fact she found herself torn between turning the pathetically stupid doe that had lost her her rabbit into her meal or letting loose a tirade of such fury no kin would dare cost her a meal again. The latter was winning, her mouth open to tell this doe exactly what she should of thought of, when her stomach grumbled. A front hoof slammed down against the ground in irritation; she needed something to eat. She was still angry -- furious -- but damn if eating wasn't more important. With a huff, she wrestled the anger from her face though she left the irritation evident. She wanted to say, stupid does who cost me my meals, but instead she found her voice, laced with sarcasm, "Something that isn't running away."

	Sorr takes in the doe's irritation, and is slightly confused by it. Losing prey isn't that bad, at least it shouldn't be. "I've a garden with good things to eat, if you'd like. Or I can round up some of my mother's pack and we can go after bigger prey?" Sorr feels loosing the rabbit is no one's fault, but feels offering help would be the neighborly thing to do.

	venafydan Lull in Sunlight very nearly laughed -- a garden? That would not do. Vegetation was not to her liking, she liked meat. Very near to proclaiming the doe as hopeless, her eyes suddenly lit in interest. "A pack?" She had never needed one before, likely never would, but as she had an eaglehound -- her attention slid from the doe. Oh. She let loose a whistle, signaling her pet to return, before looking back to Sorrel. "Tell me about this pack." A request just short of a demand.
