It felt good to be back. It might be a strange term, considering he hadn’t really gone anywhere, but Yayuka might as well consider it being back. His paw was, for most part, all healed. It still ached a bit, but that probably couldn’t be helped, just time would tell. And though it was better, it hardly looked nice, covered in dark, ragged scars. Two of his pads were now deformed, and the dark male found one of his claws simply didn’t extend anymore.

But he could run again, and fight. Perhaps not to the best of his ability, or what it had been, nonetheless, he could run and fight. He wasn’t officially back to training again, but Yayuka found himself a little area in the sands that had a rather convenient, tall-standing rock, and was just sparring with it. Sure, it took a little imagination to spar with a rock. He was mostly just trying to figure out what his body could do now, after so much downtime. The lion didn’t really care if he looked amusing, just dancing around a rock, swiping at it, rolling. It was honest practice!

Her mind had been much busier now than it normally had been ever. No matter what was going on it never really lasted that long in Aithne's mind. Never at all really, if there was one thing for sure it was some one who made her angry and even then it didn't last that long she normally turned away not that long afterward and she would normally carry on with what she was doing and keep bothering others when she could or fighting. But there was something that seemed to cloud everyone's minds at this point and she was almost in the middle of it to a point. Her sister's son had died because of the fighting that went on and she was at first not that bothered by it but over time it was starting to hit her. it didn't really make her that angry however on the other hand it did make her pretty angry.

Nur was some one that she grew up with. She enjoyed spending with him and her other nieces and nephews when she was younger. She was a little older than her older sister's litter and she grew up with them because of that him being young and dying made her pretty angry. She just wanted to hurt some one because of it. She was trying to put it behind her and find something else to be concerned with orto at least distract herself. But she was having a hard time finding anything that could take her mind off of it and to focus on something else. Today she was off deciding to find something else to do.

That was when she looked up and something caught her attention, and the thing that caught her attention was the male that she had met before not that long. He was an interesting male that was for sure and right now she just wanted to talk him and bother him. "Well, well, we-... What are you doing?" She asked arching a brow at him and making a face.

Even though rationally, Yayuka figured he had nothing to be ashamed of (he was, after all, training), he hardly wished to be come upon at this time. Particularly by the lioness that had shown up, but it seemed fate had made a habit of screwing with the one-eared lion. He also stopped in a rather ungraceful position, because he had been surprised, so her more-or-less just flopped onto his rump. He didn't make a face, though, so he could look like he had just decided to sit down, dramatically. "I'm practicing, what's it look like?" He said, childishly, even while he panted a bit from the exercise.

"... Aithne, right?" He asked, even though he knew exactly who she was. Yayuka was trying to play it cool a bit, but he remembered her perfectly well. If she was going to try to mess with him, he might as well try and mess with her right back! Even if it was a totally crappy strategy.

Aithne looked at the male and then laughed. She was such a pain in the butt some times that was for sure. She knew it very well and she also knew that she was a pain in the butt. She liked being a pain in the butt that was for sure. But there was something that was far more interesting about bugging this male then bugging others. She couldn't put her paw on it though. She flicked her tail around behind him as she started to wander closer to him. "That is my name." She decided to answer his question first. She was thinking of what to say to his first but the second was much easier.

She paused and then smirked at him. "Well it looks like you're just being dumb at the moment and making a fool out of yourself." She stately simply and then started to laugh a little more. She smirked even brighter before flicking her hair out of her eyes. She had a feeling that he didn't find it as amusing as she did. She was actually almost certain of it. "That was some sad practicing."

He nodded slightly at the answer he'd already known, but figured they were simply past that point in the conversation now. "Har har." He said, and might have rolled his eyes. Yayuka ultimately decided against it, but couldn't help but quirk the edge of his lips upwards in a very fake smile. "Of course it's sad practicing. I'm practicing with a rock. It's better than air, but it's still a freaking rock." He didn't even feel it was worth denying that.

"But it's just warm up, I've been down for too long." He furrowed his brows, bitterly recalling the time spent recovering. That had sucked, terribly. "And you're one to talk. At least I'm trying to do something other than be a nuisance." Yayuka might have grunted, or huffed, but then a thought occured to him. "Say, you wouldn't fancy a spar, would you?" He didn't want to voice how very lame a spar it would be. Like it or not, his paw still wasn't one-hundred percent. Maybe something more like... eighty percent. Or seventy five. Well, it was done bleeding, anyways.

Aithne rolled her eyes at the male . He wasn't that great with the come backs was he? then again she was annoyed that he was even bothering to. She flopped down on her haunches across from him listening to him talk and what he had to say, her tail lashed around behind her, there was something different about him. She put up with him the last two encounters much better than she did everyone else. Oh she wasn't going to give him an easy time though.

"I don't know that paw of yours still doesn't seem to be in the best shape." She said as she pushed herself up and paced around him eyeing the foot. As she got around to the side she placed her front paw on the top of his, purposely stepping on it. "A spar could be fun but if I remember correctly, you owed me a race." She leaned on his paw a little more before walking away and turning toward him. "unless you don't think you can handle it, in that case you probably should just start wandering back to my sister."

To his credit, Yayuka didn't yelp when his paw was stepped on, but his lips did pull back awkwardly in half a wince, and his one remaining ear vanished within his flame colored mane. That hurt. "A race works, too." He said, somehow keeping his voice even. He would not complain, or pull his paw away. He wouldn't.

"Of course I can handle it, can you?" Frankly, in battle he'd sustain injuries and have to keep on going [as he'd done in the ambush], so he could hardly use that as an excuse to stay put. Yayuka didn't even want to stay put.

Aithne looked at the lion both surprised and amused. There was almost no reaction. She was completely amused that was for sure, he didn't move he didn't flinch. She wasn't sure if he was in pain but she had a feeling he was. Regardless she let it go, she was ready to race him since he thought that he was ready and able to go. She smirked, she was happy, a large smirk was on her face actually. She turned around and flicked her tail in his face. She couldn't help it. She was messing with him in every way possible.

She then turned forward before glancing back toward him before smiling. "So we go from here..." she paused staring forward and spotting her target. "To the top of that dune." She smirked ear to ear before looking at the male once again. She thought climbing up the side of the dune was going to be another interesting challenge to throw on top of that.

It took a bit of willpower, again, for Yayuka not to look too relieved when she finally released his paw. He blinked when she turned away, and wiggled his toes. Then she looked back at him and he found his best option was to go over and stand beside her. Despite what she had just done to him, Yayuka found she had a nice smile.

"Top of that dune? Right. Okay, so do we just go now? Or are we doing a countdown type deal?" He glanced up to their target, and tried not to worry about what condition he'd be in once they reached it. Yayuka was still young, and strong, he could do it. It'd just be a little harder. And he had no illusions that he might beat Aithne, but he at least didn't want to fail miserably.

So he kept himself ready to dash off any moment, just to make sure she didn't try and surprise him.

Aithne considered being a bit of a pain in the butt and taking off with out morning. But as he thought she had a nice smile, she thought that he was pretty cute himself. She smirked as she looked toward the dune. "Yep that is it!"

She prepared herself wiggling her toes, getting her footing right, she was ready to run. She glanced at Yayuka wanting to make sure that he was ready or getting ready. She wasn't exactly going to answer him by word but she was going to answer him in her own way. "5..." She started getting herself in the mood to run and get herself focused to run, her tail flickered behind her. "4... 3... 2..." She was starting to slow down a little glancing at him once again before finishing the count. "1!" She then found herself bounding forward extending her paws in front of her, she hated running in dunes but she was pretty good at it she had to admit.

Oh good, she was playing it fair. Yayuka liked that, even though he, himself had considered running off ahead. If anyone deserved a head start, it was him. But he didn't, of course. As Aithne began counting, the gray male did the same as she, and prepared himself. His injured paw flexed lightly into the sand as she slowed down, and he contemplated how much this would strain it.

Thoughts of his paw were lost when she reached the end of the countdown and shot off. He was right at her heels. For a few moments, Yayuka felt he might even stand a chance, as somehow he pulled off staying side-by-side.

That was all lost when they actually reached the climb, though. Here the strain on his paw was much greater, and, inevitably, he slowed down. He huffed, winded, as he pulled up to the top, a bound or two behind her.

"...I went easy on you." He deadpanned.

Aithne pushed herself as hard as she could. Making her way closer and closer to where she needed to go. Running through the dunes wasn't exactly something easy for anyone in the pride. The sands were heavy and if you weren't careful then the sand could get in your nose and make you cough so much you had to stop. Going up hill was especially difficult sands would barrel over your feet and weight you down, keeping you from making your way up the hill, you would have to move quickly enough to make sure that you could make your way up the hill. The sands would almost be too much for her.

But made her way up and she could feel him close behind her. She didn't like that but she let it go and she followed as quickly as she could. She reached the top and then turned toward him with a smirk. She was panting lightly but she managed a smirk through it. She let out a laugh to his comment. "Yeah yeah, I won you didn't go easy on me thats a joke." slopped down on her haunches and panted a little more trying to cool off the best she could

His paws felt heavy now. He's really been spending too much time 'down', as it were, and Yayuka could tell he was stiff and... maybe a little crippled. He'd definitely have to get used to these new limitations, but he would learn to overcome them. Someday!

But now he had to focus on Aithne. "Did too. Watch, I'll beat you to the bottom." He continued with the monotone, as he flopped over and, gracefully, slid down the dune. He didn't actually put enough in the flop to go to the bottom, but he managed to go the rest of the way with a bit of wriggling.

Yayuka didn't know why he had become so deliberately goofy all of a sudden, perhaps he had just given up, or something. But he smirked back up at her as if he were honestly proud of his accomplishment. He stood up and peered towards the top of the dune, back at her. "I'll beat you for real, one day! I won't be lame forever."

Aithne stared at the male listening to him with a smirk on her face. She was amused by all of this. He was fun company. She wasn't exactly one to have a ton of fun. She enjoyed having fun some times but then again most of the time she didn't enjoy some one's company either. He was an odd lion. He made her smile and laugh, she didn't know what to think about that. He was confusing to her but she was going with it at the moment. "You'll beat me huh?" After her question she saw him flop down and the scowled a little. He cheated that wasn't very fair at all.

She grumpped a little more as she stared down at him before deciding on a way to get back at him to a point. She shifted her weight and flicked her tail around behind her with a smirk on her face, before he could say something she started to barrel down the side of the dune, going as quickly as she could. She pushed herself off of the side of the den aiming to land on him. Racing wasn't her only strong point. She was also pretty good at pouncing.

What was she doing? Why was she running down the dune like that? That was just weird, and – a bit too late, Yayuka realized she was coming at him. And by too late, she was literally already airborne. He blinked, and moved to dodge to the side, but it was too late.

The funny thing about being pounced like that is he didn't feel much of what happened between standing and being on the ground. So Yayuka's next memory was being pinned against the sand by Aithne. "Geez, what was that all about?" He sounded irritated, but mostly just because of his failure at avoiding the attack. "What ever did I do to deserve such treatment?" He was on his side, and not really in a good position to try to kick her off. So instead Yayuka just put on his best grumpy face, and flailed his back paws around uselessly.
