Dance: Performing Arts

Those who had taken Week 1 of the Clan of Conquest's class might recognize the female seated on the chair in the room; in front of her was a Guzheng. Standing on her left was a horsewoman who was dressed like a servant ghoul holding a Pipa, and on her right stood a horsewoman who looked like she was of the same age as the servant ghoul, but was dressed in clothing that looked more colorful and decorative.

"Welcome. I am Zhang Liulian, but you may address me as Professor Zhang. Traditionally, dancing is an art form reserved for females, but in recent years, even males had taken up this art," She explained, giving you a small smile, "It requires flexibility, a quick reflex... It is not as easy as you think it might be. In fact, it requires years of practice to get dancing down. Here, let my disciple show you." She turned to the ghoul on her right and gave her a nod; immediately, the young ghoul brightened up, moving to the space in front. When Professor Zhang started to play the Guzheng, accompanied by her servant's Pipa, the young ghoul performed a dance so entrancing, it probably kept you captivated.

"Same say that dancing may even lift your spirits and heal your soul... Why don't you find that out for yourself, child?"

Jack had gotten the hang of this bowing and being quiet thing while he was talked to, feeling that all the etiquette stuff was slowly working on him - even if it was endangering the poor birds one at a time. Thusly so, he stayed silent, listening to Zhang Liulian introduce him to their idea of Performing Arts and music, heavily interested and waiting on bated breath for whatever he could learn. If Music was water, Jack was a sponge. He had to know.

Readjusting the arm sleeves that he had picked out with his suit, he looked down to himself, looking over the clothing he had not worn before coming here, the soft fabric folding softly in flattering places, as the pants admittedly itched a little. He was pretty comfortable with his loose fitting pants normally, but for the sake of science music, he would do anything. He would have to find a way to get someone with a skellyphone to send a picture to Tomoko, he was certain she would appreciate the hell out of what extents he had gone with - even the shirt had a cat . . . dragon thing dancing around it - something that he had appreciated from the incense class, the dream still very dug deep in his psyche, something of a comfort to him while he was far away from those he had slowly considered friends.

Watching the girl dance was something from a dream, every move she had made was like water, and every couple moments he caught himself twitching to the music, body involuntarily attempting to be swept in to the music also. It didn't take long for his turn to show up, he blinked back the captivation long enough to find his way in front of the blind boxes, his ears perked at whatever they could throw at him to help flail around.

But it was weird, the box he had been given was empty. Well, whatever, he'd figure something out.

Sure, the music was different and the instruments were strange, but it was music and the players were very well versed in what they did, and the song that danced through the air was descriptive, if not calming. So, Jack just let it take over his body, finding that the fabric-y extensions of his arms helped better than whatever they could have thrown him - the soft fabrics were like water, and flowed past him as he moved, making him appear to be a tall, lanky waterfall, his eyes lidding as he sank in to the music.

It wasn't like the song had lyrics or anything, but as he went, he got a feel for the composition, and after a few moments, he started humming along, the soft song barely escaping his voice at first, but taking over as the instruments sang. It took him a few minutes to realize that all this excercise had involuntarily started to make his fingers itch, the string-scarred tips aching to play whatever they could teach him - he wanted to know and learn what he could while he was here - he wanted his music. He would find a way, it would just take a lot of sweet talking, he was sure.

The music kept playing around hiim though, rising to the completion of the song, he allowed the music play him away, every part of his being aching as it finished, wishing it would continue for just a little more. He didn't even notice the horsewomen watching him, their smiles softly held on their faces as he completed, posing in a fashion that was comfortable to him, his eyes opening up suddenly - as if a spell had broken, and he was back in his body, the wonder-land peeled back from his eyes.

Clearing his voice, he went back in to a neutral position, stuffing his hands in to the sleeves, smiling almost ear to ear, his unnatural grin plastered to his face in ways that almost seemed permanent.

"Thank you for that." he started, his voice as soft as the whispering song he had sang. "I think I was missing home a little, and you all play so beautifully, I'd be very interested in learning how to play your instruments, or at least be able to sit in few other performances?" He asked out loud, the girls neither denying him or accepting him with their silence, but their smiles never faultered as they offered up his score.

"Did well for a Beginner" Was all that was written on the sheet, but the +3 points that he was also offered up really did make him feel a little warm inside, knowing that he had a little bit of a breakthrough, for now.

Turning to bow out, he quickly finished his work for today, prancing away contently.
