Finally he could relax.

After walking for days, he had found the absolute perfect location to lie down and rest. It was shaded, in just the right places with a wonderful oasis to drink from, and he could even detect the slightest hint of a herd that were very familiar with the land.

This was what he'd been looking for, why he had pushed his legs to continue on their journey. The journey for perfection. It was what his life was all about, and he wasn't about to settle for second best, it was perfect or nothing.

With a wide smile splayed across his face, Ulimi plopped into the light grass around him, rolling onto his back and just flopping. He loved lazy days, and boy had he earned this one. Just a simple day, with no one to bother him, and not a care to be had in the entire world.

The words almost immediately pulled him out of his serene state of mind. He had been meditating, absorbing the silence around him and using it to further relax his mind. But that voice - that voice had ruined it all.

Rolling off of his back, and onto his paws once more, Ulimi remained in his lying position, his eyes darting around until he made eye contact with the intruder. "Hmmph, didn't anyone ever tell you not to talk to strangers?: He sighed, assessing her as a threat, he quickly noted she was definitely not much of one at all.

Claimed?

Well he had to admit, she had him intrigued. You could tell by the way his head cocked slightly to the side as he tried to figure out exactly what she meant. Did lions really go around claiming such lovely areas just for themselves? Well that was not only selfish but just down right ridiculous.

"Well there's no sense in apologizing about it now. It's already been done." He commented gruffly as he forced himself to his feet, and readjusted himself into a sitting position. "I'm not looking for a fight either, though by the looks of it you wouldn't put up much of one. And no - I haven't claimed these lands. Doesn't seem right to claim such a thing of beauty and restrict others from witnessing it." Ulimi smiled a rough smile and continued, his eyes rolling as she apologize yet again. "Stop apologizing, it makes you look ever weaker. At least act as though you have a backbone."

Ulimi nodded with approval as the lioness straightened out her back. Although that wasn't exactly had in mind, he supposed it was better than the cowering figure she had been a few moments ago.

"I didn't mean stand straight - I just mean don't act so weak. It gives you a disadvantage, and that's not something you want others to see in you. Because they will take advantage of it." As he sat listening, he could see where she was coming from. Most lions did mark territory, though to mark something like this as your own? Well - personally, he would never do such a thing. But he shrugged it off as a personal opinion.

"Well yes that's true. I've encountered quite a few males who have been dominant over their lands. But I am not one of them. Even if it were mine, you would be welcome to stay." He shrugged, further proving that it was no big deal to him. "But, how did you come to find this place? It's extremely out of the way. It doesn't seem as though you've just stumbled across it by chance, or maybe you did! I dunno, it's not like i'm psychic or anything.

Ulimi nodded in the female's general direction, he wasn't one for saying pleasantries very often. Instead he revoked back into his silent mode and instead simply listened.

"Hmm, I guess that makes sense. The ground is a bit softer than normal grass. It must have been pretty bad to chase you away from such a lovely place. Personally I probably would have weathered it out. But to each their own." He shrugged his shoulders again. He had heard her comment of never being able to return, but again it seemed like a very personal issue. Something he didn't want to be involved in, but to continue the small amount of interaction between them, he made a small comment. "Well, must be something pretty big to chase you away from this place. I'm sorry to hear that. If you'd like, I can disappear so you can say your goodbyes properly?

Ulimi simply nodded at her comments, unsure of exactly what she meant by her company comment. But instead of bugging her for further interaction, her shrugged it off. He could tell just by looking in her direction that she was lost in another world. Or at least her thoughts were. Shrugging his shoulders and fluffing out his mane, Ulimi pushed himself to his feet.

"You're welcome... well you seem a little lost, so i'll leave you to finding yourself." He smiled cautiously, and lifted a paw in the air. "If you need anything, I wont be far. I my just trek slightly to the east to give you a bit of freedom." And with a swish of his tail, he was gone.
