The Stadium:

There is a small stadium for young War Horsemen set up away from the larger training fields, several circles set out for pairs to spar against each other in. A rather rugged looking female stands, dark skinned, light haired, covered in scars and warpaint, her hair unevenly cut in the back to a short length and ridiculously long and braided in the front, wrapped around itself, several feathers tucked into both it and the dark stained fabric, bones from several different types of creatures weaved into jewelry she wears, her wings colored like a golden eagle. On one arm, she has several slashes of paint – what looks like hundreds, trailing down it. After staring too long she finally speaks up:

“There is one for each battle I have won.” She said simply, shifting the pole she held to her other hand before turning to show her other arm, which is spotted with paint of a different color – and much more numerous. “I have one for each battle I have lost as well. To become a true warrior, you must climb your way to the top from the very bottom, and the best place to start is practicing against those who may just be better than you.” She explained, before motioning to one of the circles and an individual that was practicing on their own.

“Go join them.” She says, “If you think you’re ready. If you win, you will be paired up with the winner of another spar. So on, and so forth. After five victories, a break will be allowed for the day.” She says, the only explanation she gives as she hands off a small staff.

Mechanics

There are 5 rounds

Roll 2d8 each post
First dice is how hard you hit
Second dice is how hard the opponent hit
You want to roll higher than your NPC opponent.
If you roll a tie roll a tiebreaker between them (same as the above)

If you lose a match any matches you roll -for fun- afterwards cannot be counted towards points, but you can keep rolling spars!

Please fill in each of your posts with a small summary of how your spar went! It could be more than one hit, despite having only rolled one! Have fun with it!

Amphi had awoken in the dorms not too long ago and was surprised to see herself there. In all honesty, she remembered what happened for the Toxic Cave and felt ashamed. She had come to the War isle to learn to combat and to face her fears.

And she had broken down and cried when she couldn't break free from the door holding her in. Thanatos hadn't been there when she woke but she didn't expect him to be with her always, he too had come to learn and to study...she didn't want to hinder him.

Especially with how strong and smart he was. He had been so wonderful, so calm and collected in the Toxic cave...Amphi wondered secretly just how he did it!

Sighing, she moved around the dorm space with a quietness new to her. The only people she recognized were busy doing their own things or with their friends and without Thana....she felt so stupidly alone and needy.

Her blue eyes though fell on the familier figure of a certain black dog, the same one who had been carefree about their height when they first came but was still nice none the less.

"Tybalt?" She came over to the puppy and resisted the urge to play with his ears before blinking, "Do you have some free time..." She formed an idea before smiling softly at him, "Would you like to train with me for a bit?"

Tybalt felt oddly refreshed. Who knew that sleeping suspended high in the air and swaying in the wind would do so much to help you sleep? Well, sort of sleep. He didn't really sleep at all, but just resting like that the whole night had been wonderful. It made him wish his own room had that affect. Unfortunately, unless he somehow moved his room up out of the ground and re-attached it to a tree or something, he didn't see that happening.

A shame.

Trotting down the narrow path, he passed a group of trees when something--err--someone called out to him. Which may or may not have made him jump a little.

"A-Amphi?" He answered, looking back at the mermaid ghoul with slightly wide eyes. "Uhh... yeah, I guess I can?" He answered. He didn't really have any plans after all and training more couldn't hurt. "What do you have in mind?"

Her hand laced through Tybalt's as she smiled at him.

"I think the Stadium would be fun?" She nodded as she dragged him with her. Her eyes fell upon on the horsewoman before looking at her arms where the war paint scored against them.

She gave a small squeak before nodding to Tybalt.

"I'll go first okay! good Luck Tybalt!" She wrung her hands together before taking a pole and entering the stadium.

A younger female snickered at her and sized her up.

"You look weak little fish." The horsewoman spun with her own pole. Amphi ducked it and lightly tapped the horsechild. It gave a small laugh before using the pole to trip the mermaid and then pining her with it.

"Weak and pathetic little fish, come back when you grow a land backbone." The child moved the pole and stepped away. Amphi flushed with embarassment before exiting the stadium.

"Wow that...was...just bad." She looked at the stadium sadly. She was not meant for War Isle was she?

Following her down to the stadium, the black dog sighed at the familiar sight. It was just yesterday he had been here. He managed to make it through a few rounds before. Oh yes, he did indeed. But then some horsewoman kicked his a**. Hopefully that wouldn't happen again. Though in all likelihood, it would.

"Go get 'em, Amphi!" He called, picking a spot on the sidelines to sit and watch.

Her opponent... looked pretty strong. But looks weren't everythi---okay, sometimes they were. In about three swift movements, the mermaid was pinned to the ground, with the horsewoman leaning over her like a lion standing over a fresh kill.

Poor ghoul...

"Ahh don't worry about it, Amphi. I got my tail handed to me the other day by one of them." He said, in an attempt to cheer her up. Then it dawned on him. Because Amphi lost... he had to face the same horsewoman. The same horsewoman who was now giving the black dog a feral grin.

.....

Oh fantastic!

Dusting himself off, he stepped into the center of the stadium grounds, maybe looking the slightest bit nervous.

He had some experiencing fighting them, right? Surely he had learned something, right?

Unfortunately, these were all little lies the black dog had told himself. In merely four moves, the horsewoman had him knocked to the ground onto the ground when he moved to dodge a swing of her pole. Now she was standing over him like she had with Amphi, making 'tsk' like noises.

"Tsk, tsk. Two kiddies without a backbone. However do you stand?" She asked, removing the pole and trotting off to the sidelines and leaving a rather embarrassed black dog.

"......Yeah, that sucked." He finally agreed with Amphi, dusting himself off a second time as he moved back to stand at her side.

"Think we should try something else before we give this another shot?" He asked.

Round: 1
Result: Fail

Amphi watched as Tybalt took his turn, replacing him where he stood and cheered him on from the sidelines too.

"You..YOU GOT IT TYBALT." It was the same horsewoman from her battle and she hoped Tyalt gave her a good...thrashing! "You do it-Oh." She covered her mouth as Tybalt suffered the same fight and rushed down to make sure he was okay.

"Are you..." She hesitantly looked him over before smiling, "I say, were going to have to come back and show them...maybe that we are tougher." She sent a look over at the horsewoman before whispering down, "I hope I get that one again so I can show her just how much a backbone I don't actually have."

"Why don't we head back instead?" She looked around, "I don't think I can do another training....." She relaxed.

The black dog gave a snort at her words. Clearly Amphi needed more confidence in herself. He almost hoped she would get the same one again. Only, he hoped she thrashed her and prove the horsewoman, and herself wrong.

"Sounds like a plan to me." He said, following her out.
