Sirrion had finished lessons with his mother, and after popping in and seeing his father for a moment he pranced off. Today he was going to play with his brother!
His tails swayed behind him, as he adjusted his red cowl and picked up his pace. In his head he went over his lessons today, potions and herbology were his fathers department, and his mother dealt with voodoo and water control. Most of his days were lessons of some kind. His parents wanted him to learn as much as he could, but Sirrion also wanted to experience life!
His father told him and his brother countless stories about his life before here. There were dragons!! And not like the ones around here, these ones were scaled, huge lizards that breathed fire or ice, they were monsters!
And his stories about their wars and adventures. Well Sirrions eyes lit up when Raistlin would tell them about the wars, how Raistlin fought a goddess!
Sirrion wanted that. He wanted adventure, and glory. He wanted to be known! Maybe today, him and Gil could have an adventure!!

Gilean had all but disappeared after the morning's lesson was over, sneaking a couple of pieces of fruit out of the kitchen and then retrieving his "staff" from the nursery. It was more of a stick, really, with a weird twisty twig on the top, but even though it didn't actually hold any magical power the kit had been so proud of it and of having a staff like Raistlin that his parents had let him keep it. He was getting adventure gear! Though that was all he really thought to grab, his "magic" staff and a snack because he was hungry after lessons and figure Sirrion might be as well. Then he was also prancing off to meet his brother and go find adventure. Spying Sirr out on the lawn Gil raced over and pounced on his tails. "You're it!" And then he was racing off again, this time toward the woods. Lots of adventures seemed to be in the woods, so what better place to start?

Sirrion gave a delighted squee as his brother pounced him, he regained his composure and darted off after Gil into the woods, once they were in the woods Sirrion stopped and looked around, his ears twitching as he took in the sounds around them. He took a few bounds and caught up with his brother. "where are we going for our adventure?" he asked as he looked around excitedly.
This adventure was really happening! He and Gil were going to have a story of their own. Maybe they would even be famous for this? The thought of it excited him. "I wonder if there's any dragons like father talks about...."

Gilean paused for a minute, tiny face scrunching up as he thought about where to go. "Well... the dragons Father talks about are always in castles, or ruined cities, or secret caves." He scratched his nose. "So! We need to look around and see if we can find signs of secret caves or ruins or something! Then we might find a dragon, or even some treasure!" He smiled the glorious smile of naively excited youth.

Sirrion giggled again and readjusted his cowl, darn thing kept slipping down. "we need to find some mountains...caves are always in mountains...didn't atar say there was a mountain not too far away? To the east I think it was..." Sirrion said as he scratched his chin, and tried to peer through the trees, trying to find one he could scurry up. He spent a lot of his time scurrying up and down trees, teaching himself things that could come in handy for an adventure such as this.

Gilean didn't have Sirrion's knack for randomly setting things on fire, but he did seem to have an uncanny way of knowing when the weather was going to change and which compass direction he was facing. He closed his eyes and slowly turned until he felt "east" enough. "This way! Maybe we can find a tree on the way so you can see how far it is, and maybe where the caves are?" This was going to be so much fun!

"to the east!!" Sirrion grinned and dashed off the way his brother had indicated. He paused in his frolickings and adjusted his cowl so it was secure, and then resumed making their way east. They traveled for a fair amount of time without incident, just startling the odd woodland creature here and there, Sirrion has sneezed and accidently set a log on fire, but luckily managed to put it out. Because of his little fire starting habit, their mother had been sure to teach them both how to create a small rain cloud, and indeed it was an ability that was frequently used. Before they knew it, they had come to the base of the mountain, large rocks dotted here and there, surrounded by smaller ones. Sirrion grinned, his tails wagging excitedly. "where do you think we will find a cave Gilean?" he asked softly, in case dragons had excellent hearing. He didn't remember their father mentioning such details, but one never knew.

Gilean tapped his chin thoughtfully at the question, taking the moment to sit and have a brief break as he surveyed what of the mountain he could from where they were. "Well, a dragon certainly isn't going to have his treasure cave near the paths everyone else would used all the time..." There was what looked like the start of a path a bit further along the foothills. He started to disregard it, but then he spied a place further up where the path seemed to skirt a rocky and difficult, but probably climbable, slope before it diverged and went a different direction. Something akin to his usual direction-sense tickled behind his ears when he looked up the difficult slope. "I think we should follow the path until we get up there to that weird rocky slope and go up there! Most people wouldn't go wandering that way when there's a nice path going around, but maybe it'll lead us to where the dragons are!"

Sirrion nodded along as his brother spoke aloud his reasoning "That makes sense" He said as he observed the path Gilean mentioned. He secured his cowl and with a wiggle of his bum he took off up the path, it was easy at first, as Gilean had said it was, and sure enough there was a branch off path that was not so easy. Sirrion was determined to find dragons and adventure, despite how nasty the fall would be. Instead he focused on the adventure and dragon aspect's of the current situation, and tried his best to ignore the fall. It was slow going, along the rocky path, but as long as he was careful and cautious, it went by without incident or accident. After some time, and some ways up the mountain, Sirrion scooted around a particularily troublesome rock and into view came a large and rather ominous looking cave. Sirrion gave a little squeak at the sight, his excitement barely containable. He peeked over his shoulder at Gilean, and with a wide grin whispered to his brother, "There's a cave!"

Gilean stared wide-eyed at the cave, quivering in excitement and all but holding his breath for fear of alerting the dragon that was hopefully inside. "Careful... we need to check things out before we go in, just in case there's traps or something." There were always traps in adventures, so they had to be vigilant! That said the young Majere padded slowly and quietly up to the edge of the cave and slowly peeked around the corner of the entrance to see what lay within. Lots of bones, and something reflecting light in the back corner... and a vaguely blue and green form half hidden in shadow that looked like it might be... a dragon!!!! Gil clapped a paw to his mouth before he could squeak in his excitement and waved Sirrion over.

Sirron gave a silent excited squeak as he ever so carefully padded over to his brother, being mindful not to make any noise. When he got there he peeked around the corner and saw the shape his face made all the motions of an excited squee, but thankfully no sound came out. He pointed frantically at the shape Gilean already knew about, but couldnt help himself. It was a dragon! He just knew it! "its a you know what!" he whispered with a grin, then took a few steps from the entrance "what is our plan?" he rubbed his paws together and adjusted his cowl in his excitement. This was just like their father's adventures, he just knew it.

After a moment of peering around the cave Gilean quietly gave Sirrion his game plan. Sirr, who was a bit more proficient at magery, would come far enough into the cave to keep an eye on the dragon with a clear line of sight. Then Gilean was going to try to sneak to the back and see if that shining thing at the back might be treasure, and if there were any magical artifacts they might be able to use on the dragon. Sirr would be prepared to cast something to distract the dragon if he did wake up so they could get out of there. If they actually managed to get in and out without the dragon noticing that would actually be quite a feat. Dragons were notorious for being impossible to sneak-thieve from after all! And they didn't want to accidentally set a dragon off rampaging around the countryside before they could defeat him, either.
Gil passed his "magic" staff to his brother, just in case he needed it. Sirr was the one that was going to be casting the spells right now. Then, plans laid out Gil started to sneak toward the back while Sirr got into position. They could do this. Their father was an awesome mage! Their mother was a demi-goddess of the sea! Yeah, this dragon had no idea what it was up against.

Sirr got into position, and gripped his brother's 'magic' staff tightly as he watched the sleeping dragon closely, he kept his brother in his peripheral vision, but seeing how the dragon was the big threat right now, his attention was soely upon it. He wondered if his father and uncle had an adventure like this. Their dad never talked about Uncle Caramon much, but he was always present in the adventures dad told them about. They had an Aunt too, but she turned bad apparently. Realizing his mind was wandering from the task, Sirr shook his head to focus. His brother was counting on him to be vigilant, he would not fail Gil! Sirr scrunched up his features and seemed to glare at the dragon, willing it to stay sleeping. Or at the very least, not suddenly wake up and eat them. As he watched the dragon, his mind wandered again, but this time over lessons, legends and spells. He knew shields, spells to distract and if things got really desperate he could cast a transportation spell. He'd only successfuly teleported the test grapefruit a few times, but he was confident should something happen he could get Gilean out of there intact.

((Considering our plans for the RP, I'm gonna go ahead and let the guys be a little rough with Sirr as well as Gil. Nothing that would really hurt them, hurt them, mind. I'm going to have Vic show up at the end of the post to interrupt before they can get that far.)) Little did Sirrion realize with his wandering thoughts and dragon-focused gaze that someone else was now watching him. Digo peered back and forth at the two kits, partly wondering what the hell they were doing, and partly wondering if such brave little youngsters would taste good with an orange glaze.
He slipped into a predatory crouch and slunk up behind the cowled youth before pouncing at him to use his forepaws to knock Sirrion flat on his stomach and pin him to the cave floor. Then he leaned down to sniff delicately at the kit's ear before nibbling at it. Oh yes! Orange glaze it would be, most certainly! And since the other was obviously a sibling, he would likely be excellent with orange glaze as well. "Jorm~ I do believe lunch just invited itself in!" Jorm slithered to his feet with uncanny grace and lunged forward to throw Gilean back against the wall as the silver-haired brother turned in startlement at the strange voice coming from where Sirrion was supposed to be. With the other kit in a heap on the floor in front of him the dragon purred softly. "You know I don't like the way our kind taste, Digo. Though I wouldn't mind a bit of fun with them before you dine, if you wouldn't mind?" He turned a sharp look upon the brothers. "I'd like to know what the hell they thought they were doing sneaking through my lair, first."
The dragon-kitsu flowed forward toward Gilean with grace that seemed both serpentine and feline at the same time, and placed a large paw to either side of the dizzy and frightened child's head upon the floor. Lowering his head so that his teeth were bare inches from the kit's face, Jorm regarded him with violent purple eyes. "So~ what tomfoolery brought you here to die, little brat?" To be honest it was the fear in the child's eyes that he savored more than any act of inflicting pain ever could...Gilean had looked back at the voice coming from where he'd thought Sirrion was supposed to be only to see some large dark-furred and brightly patterened kitsusagi standing over him. And saying they were lunch? With the odd seemingly open but healed wounds on his body... it didn't seem like any truly living creature could be like this. Was this some undead menace? And then he was flying, because he'd actually forgotten about the dragon. His head cracked against the wall none too gently when he impacted and he slumped down to the floor, holding his pained noggin. And then the dragon was there, staring him down. The first thing that came to mind were the words of a spell, and he tried to stutter them out, but he couldn't focus very well. So he stopped before he accidentally miscast something and started over, only to be swatted by the dragon's massive paw and go flying once again. His retribution for his insolence at trying to respond to the dragon with "gibberish". He smacked his head on the rock again, and though he tried to get up and scramble away, his vision was swimming and his feet didn't want to cooperate and he found himself trapped again. Oh no... now what?! Adventures weren't supposed to go like this! Vic was out further afield today than usual from the area around Raistlin's home where she'd been laying her head. It was time to find herself her own place... past time, really. While no one there really seemed to mind too much that she was basically living at the edge of their yard... she didn't enjoy the feeling she got that she was intruding, mooching a place to stay off of them and taking advantage of their hospitality. So she was out in the boonies somewhere looking for a place she could label "hers", even if the odds were she'd not really be there all that much. Perhaps it was simply the fact that she wandered around HQ and stuff so much and was only there infrequently that had kept her welcome from being worn thin?
As she was following a small mountain path she caught scent of a familiar, almost Raistlin-esque smell mixed with... salt water? She growled to herself. That had to be the kids, and what the <********> were they doing way the hell out here? She didn't smell Raist himself so she could only imagine they'd managed to wander off without anyone knowing. Goddamn it, she was going to have to keep an eye on them now and try to get them home, wasn't she? Kids always made her feel so awkward...
She followed their trail up the difficult side path until she rounded the awkward corner in front of the cave with much silent cursing. And then she heard Gilean cry out in pain at his second impact and all frustration was forgotten as she realized there were other scents here. Were the boys under attack?
She careened around the corner and assessed the situation even as she proceeded to bulldoze into Digo and knock him away from Sirrion. Without stopping she leapt over Sirr and snapped her teeth in the startled Jorm's face with a snarl and the surprised dragon back away enough for her to grab Gil and pull he and Sirrion both back to the entrance. Sirr still seemed more or less all right but Gil was bleeding from a gash on the back of his head and only seemed partially conscious...
s**t. "You might wanna go get your dad, kid. I don't think your brother's going anywhere without being carried and I doubt I can do that and keep these guys off of us."Digo got up, a mad grin spreading across his face as Jorm slunk over behind him and snarled at the strange femme over his shoulder. "Oh my! A three course meal! And you all smell delicious, I must say."Vic just stared at the two. "Ok, you're officially a freak." She slid her coat off and put it over Gilean. The metal plating it was lined with was all the extra protection she could provide right now if either of them managed to get past her...((FIGHTING next post, I guess! XD))

Sirrion let out several startled yelps as the events rapidly unfolded around him. Unfolded and wound rapidly out of their control. He barely had time to register when all of the sudden there was someone standing over him and his brother, it took a milisecond to register she was on their side. While he checked on his brother he cast a shield over himself and Gil as he examined his brother's wound. "Gilean! Gilean can you hear me?" he asked softly, a whimper of fear clearly present in his voice. This was NOT at all how this was supposed to go! Sirrion looked up at Vic and he understood her request, but he wasnt going to leave his brother. Not for anything would he leave Gilean behind. "If Gil cant go, neither will i" he said stubbornly and stood over his brother as well. He put a paw on one of the head wounds and muttered softly under his breath, it was only a minor healing spell, but with any luck it would at least stop the bleeding. "Hang on Gil, just hang on ok" He gave a nod and gently nuzzled his brother. He turned to face the dragon and the strange male who claimed they would go well with orange glaze. Idly he wondered if there were strange mushrooms polluting the air, but he shook the idea out of his head. He was still afraid, hell he was down right terrified. But they had hurt his brother! He was also extremely pissed off at this moment. With his fiercest look at Wendigo (which in reality wasnt all that terrifying, he was a kit after all, but there was great determination behind him, and a glimmer of something in his eye that was unplaceable), he threw back his cowl "Ast kiranann kair soth-urn kali jalaran!" he pointed a paw at the cannibalistic kitsu, and surprisingly a fireball shot from his outstretched paw. Now it wasnt a large fireball mind you, he was only a kit after all, but it still soared with purpose and direction at its target, and was big enough that should it connect, it would not feel pleasant. He didnt wait to see if it connected, he whirled around and whispered equally strange words to the dragon "Ast kiranann kair gadurnm soth-urn suh kali jalaran!!" out of his once more outstretched paw, darted another attack, this one lightning. If he were an adult, or even a little older, the attacks would have been deadly, however his youth and inexperience made them just, inconvienent attacks. Still, with any luck they would have to dodge and re-think their lunch, which was what Sirrion was going for.
His attacks being sent, he stepped back over his brother, and hoped the sheild he had put around them would hold, in the case it didnt, he began to pull Gilean further out of the cave. He growled under his breath at being so small, when suddenly he swelled up in size, not a whole lot, but enough for him to pull Gilean with greater ease "fank foo momma" he said under his breath. He often wondered what they would use that ability for; being able to change your size. Well, now he knew.
((Me thinks this event will not help with the Raistlin/Davey Jones relationship whee Rounnnnnnnd one!! biggrin ))
