The Sands are alive with the Sound of Music...
Mandy had noticed in her short time here already that everything in the clan made a sound. The buzz of the insects lighting the halls, the jingle jangle of clan members moving and the rasp of wind shifted sand.
That last one she liked best because it was one of the first real signs she was near an exit from the underground labyrinth. Though she understood the reason for how they lived, the outside was hot enough that if it had been home something would have exploded by now, that didn’t mean she didn’t crave to sit in the shade and just stare at that strip of beautiful blue sky.
A breeze ruffled Mandy's hair.
Clank, Tinkle, Clank, Clank.
Curious her ears flicked once in the direction of the new sound before her eyes reluctantly followed.
Wind chimes? Huh.
What followed next was, whilst a little invasive of her personal space, interesting and so Mandy found herself set up to make a shaker. It'd be a good souvenir if nothing else.
She ended up picking a skull about the size of her palm and some of that lovely sand before she set about plastering the skull as she had been instructed.
Unforutunatly Mandy had never been the arts and crafts type and she ended up getting plaster everywhere, her skull barley recognizable.
...Oh well it was the sound that counted right?

Thankfully it was kind of hard to screw up pouring in sand, even for Mandy's skill level, so that part of her shaker went fine. Although from Ishsha's look it still could have been better

Gingerly Mandy went to seal her last hole, trying not to mess it up so badly this time. To her complete surprise she managed to maintain the shape of the eye hole.
Yay.
Now she had a vague blob with an eye.

Wow hey this stuff was used for code? Why hadn’t she mentioned that first? That was awesome.
And as she said, really useful. Mandy couldn’t count the number of times someone had been dissipated trying to warn someone else.
She pursed her lips. If she could get this she would teach all her friends it, every advantage was vital.
With that determination in mind Mandy shook the rattle vigorously, nearly jerking in shock when she actually felt unease from it.
Huh. She titled her head curiously, was there Fear in this stuff? She'd thought the clansperson meant code-code but that...
Oh there was a lot of applications for that.
Mandy smiled thanking Ishsha for teaching her. She was so right in choosing Famine.

Vegetation Lab
Mandy was honestly surprised by how surprised she was when she ran across Cymbeline when she'd stumbled across another lab whilst exploring the labyrinth like caves. This was her home so it was odd to not expect to see her here, she guessed she'd just gotten so used to seeing the heirs at Amity it hadn’t crossed her mind.
Listening to the crazy ghoul babble for a few minutes she finally managed to get the whole I am about to teach you something bit and hey why not, the heirs had said they'd do that sometime. Although she had the distinct impression it was something more... combat oriented than what Cymbeline was going on about now.
Because somehow she didn’t think combat had anything to do with boxes in boxes with dirt and... er, waterish fluid.
...Then again they were horsemen so you could never tell.

Plants? Oooookay unless this was a poisons thing, which she was pretty sure was set up elsewhere and she had made a mental note to check out, she was now 90% sure this did indeed have nothing to do with combat.
Well she had come to the clan to broaden her skill set and who knew it might surprise her like the shaker had. That thing was cool. Besides she loved working with plants, it was one of the reasons she thought it was a shame she never managed to make another of Cadmus's classes.
Eventually following Cymbeline's lead she managed to work out she needed to set the box up and it... um....
Well it was up ok?

Then Cymbeline started talking about insects and Mandy was finally on familiar ground, she was well versed in students similarities to ants thanks to Invictus's many and often painful reminders. It wasnt a bad comparison anyone, the swarm tactic had saved their lives and Fear many times. Call the horsemen what you wanted but they had damn good tactical advise, if a bit cryptic.
Picking out her seeds Mandy felt slightly wary of this 'Sugarcane' Cymbeline had provided, although she didnt remember off hand if it was toxic so many innocuous human plants where. I mean in what way did Basil sound dangerous? You'd think they'd be better at naming their flora.
The Hunchback Beggarweed on the other hand whilst not something Mandy was familiar with was at least native so
...um
Yeah.
She quickly popped them into their respective mounds of dirt not wanting to accidentally melt her skin off or something by holding them too long.
Watering them in with the vial of something that Cymbeline provided Mandy could only describe what happened next as magic.
...Probably because it was but shut up.
She ended up sitting there fascinated for a while watching as what she thought was Fear leech into the Sugarcane, was that how Fear varieties where made?
...If so how did they make the first one?
Thoroughly perplex but feeling intellectually fascinated by what she had done, something that she usually only felt with impressive battle moves, Mandy felt herself very satisfied with her day indeed.
