Roll 1 d8. 1 and 3- You run into a spider who bites you for a nasty sting! -10 HP 2 and 4- You end up taking a wrong turn and hit your head! -10 HP 5 and 7- You managed it somehow to crawl you way to the next room, which has yet to be filled with that gas or… 6 and 8- You get lost and get…sleepy… (fail!) If your natural form is bigger than that of a dog, take -5 HP Stage 5 The last part of the tunnel! You can see light at the end but- It seems that in order to get there, you’ll have to beat the doors that are closing, trying to trap you in the poison caverns! Nadia stretched all her limbs one by one, waiting to be sealed in completely. She didn't quite know why the toxic cave appealed to her so much out of the three different training grounds, but it drew her interest the second she heard of it. She decided to head there even before visiting the dorms, eager to test her own strength at the beggining of her training on the island of War. A slightly insane grin settled on her features, Nadia's body already preparing for the mad rush.
The cave was very dim, and the dark added even more pressure to the already tense atmosphere in the cavern. Which suited Nadia just fine. Finally, Nadia heard an omnious clink and chased down the hallway, the poison gas already filling out the open space behind her.

Nadia's breath was just starting to get a little more ragged when the hallway ended abruptly at a deep pit. Nadia stopped and took a precious moment to catch her breath, at the same time deciding what the best option for descending was. She knew that every second counted, but she trusted her natural ability to calculate wether or not to use the ropes, the walls, or just to jump to be more important that a second more of fresh air. Another split second for making a decision, and Nadia was climbing down the wall, thanking her instincts and peering into the dark to see what was ahead.

The next obstacle that greeted Nadia was a dark, very chilly pool of water. There was no need to choose from which side to approach the challange this time, so Nadia plunged straight into the water, hoping her hair wouldn't provide too much of a distraction. She was in the middle of the underwater tunnel when something nipped her arm quite painfully. The pain itself wasn't very strong, but the fear from the realization that something was in the water with her gave Nadia a burst of adrenaline that shot her from underwater to the surface, more than a little frightened and ready to continue her headlong rush.

The pounding of her blood in Nadia's ears made it a bit longer for Nadia to realize that the path she chose from the several available was getting smaller and smaller. Now she could barely force her way through the narrowing route. The fear of getting stuck here for a while made Nadia's breath hitch, and only the adrenaline in her system made it possible for her to contine, praying for her choice of the tunnel to be the correct one.
Just as she was about to give up and give in to her natural instinct to scream and shout for mercy the path started slowly incresing in height. Thank you sweet Jack, oh thank you so! whispered Nadia, a burst of speed taking her out of the narrow tunnel, shoulders bleeding from the impact against the stone walls.

Just as Nadia was starting to enjoy the light from the end of the tunnel she nearly crashed into the quickly closing doors. A growl of rage escaped her lips. She wasn't giving up now, not when she had passed all the other muscle-straining challanges! She attacked the door fiercely, acutely aware of the smoke already seeping in behind her.
The strain of the previous obstacles had taken their toll on Nadia's strength, but the sheer amount of adrenaline in her blood and the rage she felt at the door for closing her into the cave was just enough to let her break through the wood.
Climbing out into the sunshine, Nadia had to take a few minutes to gather the last of her will to make sure she wouldn't pass out right in front of the toxic cave. A victor had to be seen walking off from the battle, after all.

Day 2 Nadia's first opponent was a boil - and a heavy-set one, at that. While that made him slower, it also made his every attack count, and it was only so long until Nadia ran short of breath from jumping and trying, sometimes unsuccessfully, because the warrior was a lot faster than his bulk could possibly allow, to avoid all the painful blows. Sweat was pouring down her forehead when the boil finally managed to knock her down with a deafening strike to the head, and she raised her hands in a sign of defeat. She could still see the stars when the next competitor stepped into her circle, and she had to force herself to her feet.

Her next opponent was a smaller ghoul. This round was a lot quicker, as Nadia managed to knock down her opponent with some crafty swings of her feet, and then punch her in the side of her face, careful to avoid her nose. No sense in extreme violence, after all.

The third round was almost as long as the first one, as the fight was between two equals. The ghoul was slender and swift, and Nadia had to draw out Fred to protect herself from the glancing and painful strikes of her spear. After a few tense minutes of testing each other out, the War Clan member threw a sudden and fierce attack that Nadia was simply not fast enough to block them all, and a direct blow to her right knee made her collapse.

The fourth round was the fastest one by far, and this time not in Nadia's favor. The experienced warrior pummeled Fred with expertly timed blows, and it was a matter of seconds before Nadia was forced to surrender or nurse a broken right arm.

The fifth round was the only one which ended in a tie. The ghoul she was up against was just a bit faster, but Nadia had the upper hand in strength. They circled each other for a seemingly endless amount of time, each waiting fr the other to make the first move. Nadia was the first to attack. The warrior deflected them skillfully, and then launched into a counterattack. Now it was Nadia's turn to block, and she completed the task skillfully. The two were now at a rest, once again playing the waiting game.

Truly, there was no excuse. Nadia simply lacked the stamina that the War Clan member had built up from hours upon hours in the sparring circle. So when, in her fatigue, Nadia slipped a breach in her defense for just a second, the warrior took full advantage and struck a devastating blow to the Reaper's chest. Nadia flew to the ground, landing painfully and awkwardly on the ground.
As she crawled out of the circle, Nadia vowed to come back and do better next time. Much better.
