Perseus bounced around like a cub as she went hunting butterflies to chase. She was not really simple so much as she did not care if anyone thought her chasing butterflies was stupid or childish. She enjoyed chasing the bright colored things. It was what she did when she was bored, or just to have a bit of fun when she did not need to hunt or such. She had not been sticking around her family as closely these days so she needed the entertainment.
There was so much more to the world than her family and their travels. The leopon had wanted to see more of it. She had kept close enough to keep track of where her father and his group were, but not close enough to be traveling with them. And sometimes she did lose track of them and have to go hunting for them. The only thing she could say about that was that at least they did not travel very fast with the new cubs to slow them. She figured eventually she would go out on her own anyway, but it was nice to know where they were for now.
Perseus watched a butterfly take off as she tried to pounce it. She usually missed on purpose just so she did not harm the creatures. She followed the butterfly again as it flew to it's next perch. She did not really look where it landed, but it seemed to be that the thing had landed right next to something else. She made her pounce, again, making sure not to land on the butterfly and found her nose very close to a furry paw. Whoops. "Umm, hello… Sir." She straightened herself up and looked at the male with is bright markings. How had she missed him?
Roshan had been traveling so long he lost track of the days now. He was never going to find banus to take back to his pride at this rate, and he just was not sure he cared anymore. He wanted to go home, and he wanted to see his family again. He just was not sure that he was ever going to be able to do so, and all the worrying about it was wearing him out. He flopped down on the ground and closed his eyes for a midday nap. Maybe that would help him feel better.
Roshan was not expecting his nap to be interrupted by a flop right by his paw. He opened his eyes and blinked at the female before him. He pulled his paw back and was grateful that she had not landed on him. That would not have felt very pleasant, he was certain of that. He could not help but smile when he saw the butterfly that was fluttering around nearby. He had a feeling the female may have been chasing it, but he would not say anything to her about that. What she did in her spare time was her business.
Roshan nodded to the female. “Hello, ma’am. I do hope I am not in the way…” He did not wish to inconvenience the female. He had a feeling that she might be a bit embarrassed at the moment, but one could never be sure without asking. Asking would be rude right now, so he would keep his muzzle shut on that remark. Besides, he hated to hurt the feelings of a pretty female, even if he doubted she wanted to join him in his pride. It was very hard to sell his pride’s good points to most females since the idea of having to be below any male was not an ideal situation for most rogue born females.
Perseus ducked her head and tried not to look too sheepish about almost stepping on his paw. “I did not mean to disturb your nap… and you are not at all in my way! If anything I am in yours. I do apologize.” She really hoped he was not angry with her about waking him. The last thing the leopon wanted was a fight with a lion. She was not close enough to get her father to protect her, and she was not nearly as big as a full lion.
As Perseus watched the lion, she noticed that he did not look very eager to move, so she was likely safe from any anger at least for the moment. She ducked her head at him again and started to pad away. “I should leave you to your nap. I do hope you have no more disturbances, sir!” She gave him a sheepish smile as she turned to leave. When she did not hear the sounds of him following, she breathed a sigh of relief at avoiding a fight and instead making it a close call. She looked around for another butterfly, or the one she had been chasing before. When she did not see either of them, the leopon decided that perhaps she should go find her father to visit.
Roshan did not get a chance to really say much before the female was walking off. He blinked to himself and tried to determine if he should follow her. No, no he should not was his determination, so instead he called after her. “I am fine, and you have nothing to apologize for. Safe travels, ma’am.” He shook his head and rose to find a more sheltered spot to nap. That was very strange and he did not want a repeat of it, especially not with a angrier creature.
Roshan found a spot on a rock to lay down again, and took up that perch so he was not as easy to miss or as easy to disturb. He settled himself in and made a quick check around to make sure the female had really gone now. It seemed so odd that she almost stepped on him and then disappeared so quickly afterwards. He probably should not be surprised by her choice to rush off, given the circumstances, but he did rather regret that she has not stayed around to talk a bit.
