With no real guidance of where to go and what to do, Raziel had taken to wandering around the Isle of Conquest rather aimlessly. He had already failed miserably at a game in another pavilion, and very soon found himself in a new pavilion.
This one seemed to be connected to dozens of others that were all alike over an expanse of water. Beautiful lotuses were blossoming everywhere around the pavilion. Raziel hadn't seen any of the other students in quite some time, but he was okay with that.
Choosing a bench near the edge of the pavilion, Raziel sat down, his tail dangling over the water, just barely touching the surface. He swished his tail around a bit, watching the way the lotuses moved ever so slightly before drifting back into their original place. They really were gorgeous flowers.

This seemed like the perfect place for one to mull over their thoughts in peace. Hands clasped behind her back, Xiu slowly made her way over the bridges, her gaze focused on the lotuses that skimmed over the water's surface. Though she had a tiny pavilion in her garden back home, it was nothing compared to the splendor of the Isle of Conquests' Lotus Pavilion. The pavilions, the bridges, the water, and the flowers--everything tied together perfectly.
Hmm, perhaps she could take notes and incorporate some of the smaller designs in her own garden once--or if--she moved back home after graduation. She really was quite fond of what had been done on this island. Everything was just so...traditional and elegant.
Amongst the reds and golds of the pavilions, there was a very familiar figure who stood out very well. Eyes lighting up, Xiu picked up her pace, falling into a leisurely jog as she made her way towards Raziel. Once she was in the boil's hearing distance, she cupped her hands around her mouth. "Raziel, hi!"

(( sorry i'm so slow! o A o ))
Raziel was so tuned out of everything that was going on he hadn't even heard the footsteps of the approaching Baku. However, when he heard his name, he immediately turned around and saw Xiu coming his way.
"Xiu!" he called back, "Hey!" he waited for her to get to the bench he had been sitting on. He was standing now, and wrapped Xiu in a light, friendly hug. After he pulled away, one hand raised to rub the back of his head, a slight blush appearing on his cheeks, "Sorry for disappearing earlier, I seem to be in the habit of doing that lately."
He sincerely hoped that she would accept his apology, but knowing Xiu, she probably wouldn't even find the apology necessary. He motioned for her to join him sitting on the bench by the water's edge. Taking a seat, he started, "You have to tell me, what have you done here so far? Everything is so different from Halloween, but it's all so interesting. There's also some kind of dancing thing that I think might be interesting, but until now I've been alone and you have to do it with a partner I believe."

The baku was quick to return the hug, dismissing the boil's apology with a laugh and a shake of her head. Just as Raziel had predicted, Xiu found the apology unnecessary, lifting a hand and giving it a little wave. "No, no, don't worry about it! I was a little surprise when I realized that you disappeared, but I'm just glad to see that nothing happened."
Of course, since they were on the Isle of Conquest right now, Xiu didn't really expect for there to be any danger here. Hopefully.
Pushing the thought aside, she grinned at her friend and sank down onto the bench at his prompting. "So far? Nothing much, really. I've just, hm..." Lifting a hand, she ticked off each point on her fingers, "Well, we got that tour. Then I went to explore the dorms. I did some etiquette training too, and...yes! Speaking of the dancing thing, I gave that a go with Lailah." And she, surprisingly enough, didn't do all that bad either.
"I feel pretty comfortable here," She admitted, grinning sheepishly, "But how about you? How do you like it here?"

Raziel nodded at each thing as the Baku recounted her activities so far. It seemed that she had done a lot more with others than he had. He really ought to learn to be more social, Raziel thought to himself.
It was no real surprised to Raziel that Xiu would feel comfortable in such a place, the decorations and stylizations seemed to indicate a culture that wouldn't be too far of a cousin from her own. He couldn't say the same for himself though.
"It's.. different," he admitted, not that he didn't like it, but he definitely wasn't quite used to it. "All of the different things intrigue me, but I'm not sure what to make of some of it so far." He found himself just speaking his opinion outright, without thinking about how it might be misconstrued as some kind of insult, upon realizing this he quickly moved on. "I tried a game where you smell these squares and then try to determine a pattern based on which ones are the same and which are different, but I'm downright terrible at it!" he laughed as he finished this statement. It was quite silly to even think that he might be good at a complex game from a completely foreign place.

Raziel's reply earned an understanding smile and a nod from the baku. "I'm sure a lot of the building designs and clothing probably seem unusual, huh?" She had noticed that the paper dorm room walls had caught quite a bit of attention from some of the other students. Truth be told, after living at the Amity dorms for so long, Xiu actually found the walls to be rather strange herself. Though she did have paper screens back home...
...why would you use paper? It seemed in impractical now that she thought about it, especially since it was so easy to punch through.
She listened intently to Raziel's description of the game, her tapir-shaped ears pricked up with curiosity. What an interesting sounding game! Though..."That...that sounds really difficult," She admitted, pink eyes growing slightly round, "I don't think I'd be any good at it either, honestly!"
