The Open Canopy

General setting: The open canopy is a series of simple wooden structures that may see at first, rather precarious, especially while climbing upwards. The structures themselves are actually rather sound and ironically, rather comfortable looking, similar in style to the dorm rooms, only much larger. Foliage and trees cover up a good portion of the view, but from the ground up, like all the other structures in the clan, the drop down would be rather far.

OOC: EVENT ROLLS AND PROMPT MECHANICS:

- When your student has arrived in this setting, you can CHOOSE to roll a 100-sided dice at any point in time. You can only do this twice per RP you make. Match your dice roll to the results below for a prompt/ small reaction that your student may discover. RP out results accordingly.

1-20: The area itself seems rather abandoned, though as you look a little past the area, you can see a few Clan members flying away, seemingly towards the portal exit. It looks like they're in a hurry, and heavily armed.
21 - 40: Black feathers are scattered all over the room. It looks like two clan members got into a fight here, judging from the heavy scratches on the ground, though what exactly happened? (see below for horsemen point prompt)
- Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here!
41 - 60: You hear a strange shrieking noise, as you look out, you notice a series of bird-like minipets perched next to this place. They are staring at you keenly for some reason.... maybe they want food?
61 - 80: You notice a single painting in the room, featuring a rather bloody, but illustrative, depiction of several Clan members of war cutting off the heads of what look like humans.
81- 100: The small fireplace inset in stone seems to contain bits and pieces of burnt, charred notes. Only the edges remain, revealing - maybe some sort of map?

Danny giggled as she spiraled up the wooden stairs into one of the little treehouses that were situated in what the horsemen called "the open canopy." After their little experience with the head crafter, Danny had decided it was time to run around ALL the houses.

"Rikki! C'mon slowpoke I wanna see what's inside!" she said. Even though her words implied she would wait for him, she definitely wasn't. She bolted up the stairs, giggling.

When she got into the first wooden structure, she gasped at the room. It was so big and open! She immediately flopped down on the bed, not realizing that sh e was probably jumping on some poor horsemen's bed. "Look at this!" she squealed.

If ever Rikki wished he had wings, it was now. There were a lot of stair cases and climbing involved with this island, and even in his fit shape he got tired. Not that Danny ever seemed to tired. The ghoul was always full of energy, which meant he had to push on and race with her. At least he'd never turn into an unhealthy blob with her around.

He soared up the steps, wishing he could shadow step to get some of them out of the way, and arrived too late to stop Danny from violating another person's bed. "Danny get off of that. That's someone else's bed." He frowned at the size, and then a thought hit them. "Ohhh. They have wings. Their beds are made to accommodate wings. That's smart."

Danny frowned, but got off the bed like she was told. If anything, Danny was a good, obedient child. "But it was so squishy ..." she whined.

Looking at the floor, Danny noticed it was covered in feathers and scratches. Something must have gone on in here. Did the horsemen keep bird minipets maybe? She picked up a few feathers and tucked them behind Rikki's ear playfully. "Look how pretty you are!" she teased.

A glint on the ground caught her eye and she gasped. "Shinyyy!!" she announced, running over and picking it up. It immediately went into her pocket (whatever it was). Danny didn't even care if she was stealing. She had countless stolen things, including Roch's earring- which was still resting in her pocket.

Rikki followed Danny around, and stopped to look at the floor as well. Only he didn't see anything pretty. He frowned at the feathers and the scratches in the wood around them and knew that there had been fighting here. Pretty harsh fighting if the scale and number of the scratched had anything to say about it. But he didn't tell Danny this. He let her think it was pretty and fun. It was better that way.

He did make note to steer clear of any real battles.

When she exclaimed something about shiny he looked up and raised his brows, not even seeing what it was before it disappeared into her pocket. Hopefully no one would miss that.

Except, Rikki found something shiny too. He bent down and picked it up, and flipped it over a few times in his fingers. "Huh." He lifted it up to the light and tilted his head. "Wonder what these are?" He didn't waste much more time though, because it went into his pocket as quickly as Danny's had.

"C'mon!" Danny said, "Let's go see what's in the other one." Hopefully it would have more shiny things and feathers for her to play with!

Not even waiting for Rikki she took off towards the next little structure. Danny just left him in the other house, with no defense against any horsemen attacks or anything.

Summary: She was a terrible ghoulfriend.

Rikki was startled when he looked up and Danny was practically out of sight. Forget him needing protection - what if she ran into something big and nasty? "Danny hold on!" He called out to her and dashed off and quickly as he could, holding on to his pocket to keep his new little trinket from falling out.

Danny made her way towards the structure, but stopped at Rikki's call. She stood there and waited for him until he caught up. "Sorry. I just get excited sometimes," she apologized, gazing at him with a sincere look in her eyes.

She grabbed his hand, tangling it with hers and walked a little more slowly towards the structure. As they walked, two horsemen flew out of the treehouse in full-scale armor, headed towards the shimmering portal on the horizon.

"Wow look at those!" she said excitedly, pointing in the direction of the women. She turned to Rikki and said, "The war island is actually pretty neat, don'tcha think?"

Rikki sighed and looped their fingers together. "Don't I know it," he breathed. She was probably one of the most excitable ghouls he knew. He enjoyed it though. Kept him on his toes.

He watched the sky as the women took off and glided through the hair with their impressive armor and his jaw fell a bit slack. He'd never seen anything quite like it, because they didn't have anything at home. Even their intricate armor made the detailed piece he wore on his shoulder look shoddy. Though since they had less metal on them, he definitely won the shiny game. Rikki probably weighed a lot less when he took off all his chains and metal. "The island is neat, but the horsemen... They really impressive." He clucked his tongue against the roof of his mouth and bit his cheek. "I wish we were spending longer here, actually. I want to learn as much as I can here."

After they women were well gone Rikki ducked into the house to have a look around. This one wasn't much different, except an interesting painting on the wall. He ran a hand through his hair and stared at it wide-eyed, looking a bit bewildered. Sure, the victims looked like humans, but add a little black to the eyes, a little tattooing, and they could easily look like a sibling to Rikki. Hell. Dye their hair purple and they might look like Roch. Point being, they looked like reapers.

Danny supressed a laugh and said, "Learning? You?" Danny's vision of Rikki was a rampant party boil- not the learned scholarly type. She'd support him whatever he chose, but the images just didn't line up. He was cute when he was determined to do something though- he was excitable in his own way.

She left his side for one minute to survey the outside of the room, and when she came back she found his staring bug-eyed at a painting. Her eyes shifted from Rikki's face to the painting and she quickly saw why. The humans in the painting had earrings and stocky, tan builds like Rikki. The one next to it had paler skins, but a surplus of the earrings. It almost looked like Roch and Rikki standing next to each other, if you added tattoos, purpled hair and claw-like fingers. Give the one on the right a guitar ...

Danny immediately stepped in front of the painting and put her hands in either of his. She looked up at him, and with concern, she said, "You wanna go somewhere else?"

Slaughtered. That was the word he gathered from the painting after staring at it for so long. His throat went try and he wiggled his fingers nervously. He could be slaughtered just like these humans. Because he was little more. He wasn't a demon with power, or a monster with strength. He didn't have the survival skills of an undead or the longevity of a ghost. He was weak. And he could be slaughtered like he had been during the death trials. He rubbed the center of his chest lightly.

Except, if that was true, how could he be a trial champion? If that were true, how could he have faced foggy islands, christmas terrors, haunted houses filled with trouble, and the Horsemen trials? He was a Synkka. He'd always be a Synkka. And he'd come out on top of every situation. Because that was his goal. Being slaughtered was not on the agenda. He was not as weak as a human.

When his view was finally blocked by Danny, a bit of his confidence had returned to his eyes, though he still looked a bit shell shocked. He squeezed her hands and forced a smile. "Yeah. Let's head somewhere else."
