Training fields, training fields! Shehk had been half dreaming of them the second they'd been mentioned - though the pricolici had never actually considered herself to be a hardcore warrior princess. Well, she hadn't until the Horseman trials and that damned octopus. The only tentacles she ever wanted near her were those of the Mindflayer - and the mindflayer had definitely not been the one attacking their sand castle.
Still, even as she passed through all of the horsemen - dressed in their tribal wear and covered in various paints - she couldn't help but look to Riley with a grin. "By the end of the week think we'll be dressing like that?" she asked. Though really, she wouldn't have mind it if they had been.
She'd just paint over Riley's silver.

Riley looked like she was ready to burst. Every time they passed a member of the clan, Riley tensed in excitement, ready to prove her worth in a quick thrashing. But it seemed they had been warned about the outsiders, and none of them gave her so much as a second look. It was vaguely disheartening.. and she hoped she could prove herself worthy enough to be attacked, as time passed on.
But of all the things she wanted to do with the clan, dressing like them was not high on her list. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy their fashions, she did, but..
She shook her head sadly at Shehk, and continued to the training fields. I cannot expose that much of my body. So, no. Not me. Perhaps you, though. They are quite beautiful designs.
And there they were. The training fields. Tons of spars waiting just for her and Shehk to prove their worth in battle. Riley's disheartening moment concerning her attire vanished in the sight of it. She .. jumped up and down in excitement.
And then the world ended.

"Not even if I were to paint you all all nice and pretty?" Shehk countered, but didn't press the line of thought for long. "Maybe I will. You can help me try to pull the look off." she added with a grin. "Then I'll take a picture or something...." though she didn't exactly say...why she wanted a picture. So all sorts of inferences could be made from that statement.
Still, the training fields were enormous. Especially considering that they were up so high in the air. She'd never been up so high! Excitement all abounds. Shehk might have been jumping up and down with excitement next to Riley.
And that is how the Horsemen bring the apocalypse.
"What should we hit up first?" she asked, looking to Riley thoughtfully.

Riley barely had the chance to answer. As soon as they entered the fields, the sounds of battle made her blood pulse with need. She waved her hand in the direction of the Stadium in front of them, before letting Shehk go. I am going to go get my a** kicked. Meet you here when we're done. She gave the ghoul a wink for luck, and jogged over to her first spar.
The woman waiting for her seemed completely unimpressed. Riley held nothing but the staff she'd been handed in her hand, but she wasn't very adept with staves, and preferred hand to hand combat. Still, she held her own with the young winged ghoul who'd been waiting for a good challenge, and in the end, when a speartip was pointed directly at Riley's throat, she was congratulated for a good spar. Riley was covered in dust and debris, scratched and bleeding in places, and she'd never been happier in her entire life.

Sammy hadn't paused long at the dorms at all. Once they pointed out where it was she hadn't even stopped in instead opting to move towards the training ground hopping up and down once in a while to see where the others where. Soon enough Riley and Shehk where heading that way and Sammy was not far behind urging Siddie to tag along.
Sure enough the four ghouls arrived together among the others sparring. Some how along the way Sammy had stripped her jacket tucking medals and dog tags into her shirt, her boots where kicked off. Already the humid jungle was wearing on her skin. A thin glisten of moisture coated it, but her FEAR was preventing any serious decay of her body.
"Leave me here long enough I will end up dressing like them. Humidity sucks. Seem's worse the lower down we go around here too." She piled her clothes to the side carefully before glancing at all the ghouls of their group.
"So. Who's first then?"
She paused watching, wincing slightly as Riley as she ran off. That didn't end so well.

Her second spar did not go nearly as well.. nor did Riley leave from it as happy as she had her first. The imposing male that stood before her had brought Riley down within seconds of it beginning. She was on her stomach, with a man on her back, pinning her arms behind her and about ready to break them. There was no honor in her fight, this round.
When he climbed off of her, he didn't say a word. He just left to look for a more suitable spar partner, leaving one very butthurt mindflayer lying on the ground to nurse her sore arms and her wounded pride.

Getting her a** kicked? Shehk thought that sounded like a solid plan, waving to Sammy as she ran past the undead ghoul to go and join Riley in the thrill of the battle.
Like Riley, Shehk had to say the woman in charge of the young Horsemen was very..unimpressed with the students, but Shehk couldn't help but grin, taking the staff she was offered before going to join one of the circles as well.
......
Apparently Shehk really needed to learn a thing or two about staff combat, however, as she seemed to be spending her time getting hit by the young Horseman before she actually got a hit in turn, doing her best to fend off a few of the blows before the Horseman turned and smacked her in the stomach with the blunt of her staff, causing her to crumple.
Ow.

There was only one thing to do after a failure that embarrassing. Riley took a few minutes to clean herself up, tending to any wounds and scratches, before finding another opponent. This time, she found a spry young man who seemed overly cocky about his ability to keep himself out of the line of danger. Speed was his forte, and no matter how many times Riley snapped her tentacles at him, he was always a step out of her reach. Finally, he lunged down for her, and the game changed at once. Tentacles snatched up every one of his appendages, including his neck, and rose him up into the air. The opponent who'd ended her quickly in the previous round stopped to watch as she held the horseman up in the air, a tribute to her tenacity and determination to be taken seriously.
And then she slammed him viciously into the ground.

After a moment to catch her breath, however, Shehk got up and was ready to go again. The next opponent didn't even wait for her to prepare herself to the strike, though, hitting her both fast and hard - hard enough to possibly be leaving bruises in the near future.
Shehk shifted and got in a good hit on her opponent, but the staff in her hands came around quickly and got the Pricolici right in the face, downing her again, her opponent walking over to press the staff to her collarbone.
"If you do this, it makes it harder for your opponent to get back up again once you've downed them." The girl explained before she gave Shehk a hand up.

Shehk was forming a track record of fail! At least in front of the Horsemen of War. She'd need to get some spots or whatever painted on her arm after this was done. Get all dressed up and fit in with the theme of things.
For her first time, the Pricolici managed to get a blow in on her opponent before she was smacked down, throwing up one arm to catch the downwards strike before she struck up with her own. After that, however, the Horseman fighting her moved, kicking her feet out from underneath her before bringing her staff downwards towards the Pricolici, pausing less than an inch from her face.
Shehk laid there, panting.
A long stare-off followed.

The tournament still roared in the background, as Riley needled another opponent to practice with her. This one seemed more reluctant to get near her, after what she'd done a moment ago, but in the end, they found themselves locked in a heated hand to hand match, trying to force the other down by sheer strength alone.
And the woman Riley was face to face with, inches away from her growling, determined expression, was a perfect match for her. They remained locked in each other's hands for several minutes, and Riley was reminded of another stalemated battle she'd fought, long, long ago.

And on, and on, the face-off continued, until finally Riley's hands began to bend to the pressure of the fierce warrior she faced. The woman grinned as she pushed Riley down onto her back, and finally let go. She let out a joyous cry, but it went unheard - everyone was paying attention to the actual tournament, and not the meaningless battles on the sidelines.

Shehk was going to become the deadest Horseman ever. She would have been a very poor Horseman of War, despite how much she liked the scenery. Yet she couldn't help but keep getting up to fight again.
She could feel her body aching, reminding her that despite her undead status? She was alive. She was very much alive. However, she was starting to wear down a bit. Certainly as an undead she could keep on marching forever, and yet these spars were wearing down her body to be less and less effective as she went.
There was an exchange of the pair missing blocks, both moving perhaps just a bit quicker than would have been liked for either of them, until the Horseman smacked Shehk on the back of the neck, sending her rolling forward and out of the circle she was sparring in, panting.
"You're not doing too bad, but you might need to train a little harder." her opponent noted thoughtfully.

By the end of the tournament, finding a spar partner who wasn't watching the final battles was hard. Riley's stamina was starting to wear thin, and she knew it was about time to break. But.. just one more..
She found a lazy looking male sitting by the sidelines, twirling a spear like a baton, and challenged him. True to his clan's nature, he took up the challenge, but it was clear he didn't want to. And it was clear he wasn't even trying, when Riley swept him off his feet and pinned him to the ground, sitting on his chest and holding her staff up against his neck.
In fact, the smirk on his face just made her get away faster.

Okay, she could do one more. She was failing miserably, but she could do one more. One more which completely floored her almost immediately - in three blows, in fact. One to her hands, one to her gut, and then one to the back of her head, sweeping her so that she was laying on her face to the ground, wheezing and out of breath.
Oh man.
"Okay...I think...I'm ...I'm totally done now.." she finally reneged, sounding disappointed as she got up, half leaning on her staff for balance before she moved to go and return it, looking worse for wear.
