Background: Aila was the only surviving child of John and Amara Darkfeather. Her mother died in childbirth when Aila was seven. Aila grew up, as a boy would, helping her father on their farm, and learning how to make a living by trading for what they needed when they needed something else, or gathering when they could in the autumn months. Aila was badly burned on her wrist when she was four by pulling a pot of scalding water off of their wood-burning stove. She got her facial scar when she was fourteen by being attacked by a wild Bayrel. Her father died when she was seventeen, leaving the farm and livestock to her.
How she met Jondayla: Aila had been out working the fields one hot summer day, shortly after her father's death, when she saw the most beautiful stallion in the distance watching her. She called to him, but he seemed too hesitant to come any closer so Aila went inside, grabbed some oats [the little that she had] and set it out for the stallion to come eat, before returning to her work. Eventually the black and white stallion came closer and closer and finally ate the offered food.
Aila continued, through the next few days, to set out what little she had to spare, for the stallion, enticing his trust. After three weeks, Aila finally ran out of food and was unable to leave any out for the stallion who now stayed in her fields. She was very upset that she couldn't do that any more, and due to that and the stress of trying to find a way so she'd have something to eat herself, she began crying on her knees in her dust ridden yard.
It was that day that Jondayla came up to her, and nudged her shoulder for the first time, causing Aila to look back into the azrein's stunning light blue eyes as he said to her: "::Where your body fails, I shall be your
strength. When your judgement is clouded, I shall be your clarity. Whenever you feel broken and
lost, and feel as if life holds no meaning, I will show you the wonder and joy it holds, and will heal
and guide you back to my embrace. When the weight of the world is on your shoulders, I will carry
you. I will love you, no matter your crimes, your decisions, or your fears. I will always accept you,
and you shall never be alone again. Your despair will be met with my hope, and the fetters that bind
you are no more. Your soul is mine, and my soul is yours, and we will never be apart, even in
death. If even a hundred thousand years pass, I will always love you. My name is Jondayla, and I am
your Chosen, Aila."
How she met Daria:Daria was an interesting matter all together. The poor mare had lost her heart, and even had babies with another, only to be rejected and left alone. It was during the time that Daria was living with the rest of the azrein near Aila's farm, when she began to get closer and closer to Aila's house, wanting only the comfort of knowing that, while she was lost, she was safe, so long as the human was around. Days led to weeks, and around the time Damir had come out from his blanket, Daria pledged herself as Aila's Bonded, and hasn't regretted it yet.
The effects of death:Daria's Death: Daria's death struck Aila very hard. She feels lost and is out of her mind with grief. She is putting her all into farming and everything else to keep her mind off of her dear sweet Daria's untimely ending. Her feelings have been alleviated due to the recent bonding with Maera.
Talents: Aila is particularly skilled with small knives and daggers, as well as small animal traps. She knows how to plow a field, when to plant, and when to harvest. She is one of the easiest people to talk to and get along with and will be the first to tell you off when you've done wrong.
Personality: Aila is a kind and quiet sort of girl, due to her upbringing with her solid father. She is very compassionate and won't hesitate to help one in need. She loves Jonda and the azrein in her glen with her whole heart. She has no want to fight, but if the king were to come calling and ask her and Jonda to ride into battle she would gladly leave her pitchfork and do as the king asked, such is her heart for her beliefs.
As for love, Aila hasn't quite met anyone yet that can just make her heart race but she hopes one day she will, and she hopes that they will accept her lifestyle as well, though if they don't accept her Bond with Jonda, they can pack their bags and leave, for he is now her first priority.
