He was at the end of his wit and nearing the limit of his patience. Sinbad was back to his weepy, over-sensitive habits and with Kosuke busy with his mate and the rest of his siblings wandering all over the golden sands and back, Ali had been left baby-sitting the brute. It was an embarrassment. No firekin, especially one of his lineage, should ever behave in such a way. Such behavior was below them. It disgraced the family. Only Azula and her line had surpassed the salt that they had sprinkled into the open wounds of the proud Safi.
His mother, thank Finar-Si, had paid them a visit and had requested Sinbad's company. Ali-Baba was all too glad to hand the older lion over into her care in exchange for patrolling the borders. He had missed out on the campaign into the bonelands thanks to his old man and it frustrated him. He'd never get a chance to prove himself, to prove the prowess of the Safi!
The brute prowled the edge of the territory, his great shoulders hulking up through his proud mane. Damn it all...

Baku had wandered far and wide before she'd heard of a pride of lions red like the fire. Not only that but they were rumored to be huge and battle. This sounded like the place Baku wanted to go. If she could beat one of these firekin she'd prove to her self that she was a worthy fighter. So she'd made the journey, relying mostly on rumors, to the edge of the pride lands.
The challenge had been accepted and now it was that time. The dark lioness stood ready for the battle. With a mighty kick off the ground she charged the huge firekin with a battle cry. Now was the time to prove her self.

A challenge?
The lion raised his head and squared his shoulders as his golden eyes swept over the sands. To his surprise a stranger appeared on the horizon. Her pelt bore the proper colors, lucky her, and her challenge was presented well enough. Perhaps this was a good way to vent his frustrations...
He threw his response back in a loud, booming roar. It was all the warning that the intruder would get. In an explosion of speed and power, Ali launched himself outwards. The female threw the first blow, drawing the first blood. Snarling, Ali turned and threw his own paw out for her.

The hit hit and sent Baku back a bit. She let out a roar and charged toward the big male. The fact she was being rude by not announcing her self appropriately had never accorded to her. The thrill of the battle had consumed her.

A solid hit from him. He threw his weight downwards into the blow and caught himself tactfully on his paws. The female was quick, he could give her that, for even after his opening blow she whirled on him and sent a sharp blow for the side of his face. Snarling, he pulled back and snapped at her, eager to wrap his fangs around the paw that dare touch him.

She managed to dodge those snapping jaws and weave her around to make another strike on the male. Finally she settled and looked at the male in a smug way. The battle was far from over though and she still had a ways to go if she was going to beat this male.
"Come at me ~" She taunted.

His jaws met air and another blow came down to claw at his side. Ali swore under his breath and ground his claws against the sands below himself. He couldn't lose. He couldn't! His father had fallen in battle, he wasn't about to repeat his mistakes. Snarling, he turned to her as she issued her challenge.
He snarled and whirled about, his paw sweeping out for her.

The claws hooked her side causing her to cry out in pain. But now he was close enough for her to counter. And she bit down hard on his striking paw.

Ali was thrown back by the blow, his paws sent reeling through the air. There was a moment he realized he'd lost his balance and time had slowed enough for him to mentally swear before he hit the ground, his head reeling. He wasn't done... he couldn't be done.
Gathering himself up once more, the lion made a low slash for the female's paws. "Is that all!?"

The low slash hit and sent the female tumbling forward. She rolled on to her back and managed a kangaroo kick to the males mid section fast and hard.

Sinbad was sent back once more. She was quick on her feet, he could give her that much. The male bit back another curse and threw out a finishing blow. By this point his limbs were aching and the taste of blood filled his mouth. He squeezed his eyes shut and raised his head.
"Enough... you've proven yourself..."

The dust of battle settled and the female stood victorious and maybe a little less then humble. She'd done it though. Here stood one of the giant fire red lions of this pride and she'd beaten him. Baku gave a polite nod to the male.
"Names Baku. Thanks for the battle hot stuff ~ You weren't to shabby."
