Yin's lammit was a bit skittish. As in despite him not wearing a protection charm it ran from him every single day. But once he caught it it would settle down, knowing that it was pointless to resist. And then Yin would apply the protection charm, typically with varying levels of success.
And when it grew...it really did not look half bad. So he thought very little about it until he learned that somehow his creepy little lammit was "wrong." It was quite distressing, considering that he had dutifully adhered charms to it twice a day. Rather ashamed of his poor work he had all but hidden the lammit away, thinking that perhaps after the trials were all said and done that he would ask Alexander or Nurse Cricket to show him how to put the charms on again.
But going to see Nurse Cricket again had reminded him that really, he would not get anywhere if he did not even bother to turn in his homework. And he did want to try to do better. At least it was done, even if the experiment had been failed. Perhaps it was because he was worried about accidentally pressing it on too firmly after his debacle with Alexander.
So carefully he wrote out the note that he would turn in with his lammit if the nurse was not there or busy. Then he managed to catch the lammit one more time, managed to take it all the way to the infirmary. Maybe it was a failed experiment, but he had done it. And he was going to own up to his work and start getting better. For himself. He was going to be stronger and he was going to take better care of his health. Starting with protection charms. Protect everyone.
