A couple days had passed since the...event, and Amrita still felt nothing. No remorse, no relief, just...nothing. Empty. Watching that Hunter die was as easy as watching a thunderstorm; something of note, but nothing too special. The only thing leftover from the event that she had any feelings towards was the stone tablet that was still tucked away in a folded bundle of Hunter coat, which was wrapped in her own yellow jacket (with blood stained sleeves from all her crying post-trials). It brought about a certain paranoia, one that said don't let anyone see it or risk something bad. Stacey may have died, but as promised Amrita fully intended on not stepping foot into the Human world unless forced...and not prompting anyone else to do any differently.
Thus, she resorted to carrying it around everywhere. It was currently tucked safely away in the tattered old bag at her side.
She didn't know what to do with it and whom to trust with it, and so she decided to go to her mental compass, her 'mother' without the FEAR-bonds; Lizzy. She checked Mac's room first because it was closer for some reason, but it was empty. Too bad; next was Lizzy's, which meant going into the Demon Dorms again, by herself. Sigh. The bag was clutched tightly against her chest as she entered, looking around nervously for any signs of life that might kick her out for being not-Demon.
Nothing. Good. She bolted up the stairs to Lizzy's room.
"Lizzy...?" She whispered to the door, knocking on it to try and get her attention. "Are you home?" Clearly she didn't think of texting the ghoul to find out where she was; that would have been smart

Lizzy had been spending an awful lot of time over at Mac's, but even having a handsome, warm reaper by her side didn't help with the fact that she just... Couldn't fall asleep. There were a million and one things swimming around in her mind, and she wanted to talk to her boilfriend about it but... Part of her wondered if maybe telling him these things would endanger him. Would he be like Shun? What if she involved him in another mission, and he got hurt? She couldn't involve him anymore...
However, all the stress she had locked up inside of her was making her rather angsty and whiny at the same time - which might also be why she had opted to stay behind in school during the exchange program with the Horsemen. Judging from Invictus' reactions, he was all for the killing of humans... And if that's the Horsemen's stand, she had a feeling that she wouldn't know how to react to them.
After all, she didn't want that. She never thought it would end up like that.
... Or maybe she knew all along - ever since they came up with the plan - that the hunter was going to die, but was in self-denial in order to get the guts to continue the mission. To carry it through.
Sighing, she buried her face in her hands, looking up only because she became aware that there was someone at her door. Someone who had been on her mind since that day, causing her a little bit of grief. Wordlessly, she dragged herself out of bed, making no effort to make her bed hair look presentable before opening the door, offering a sort of small, forced smile at the ghoul as she waved her in, "Hi Amrita..."

There it was again, that bubbling feeling that she had done something wrong. When Lizzy answered the door she startled and quickly dropped her gaze to the ground, holding onto her elbows as if it would save her from whatever scolding was about to come. There was still no feelings about watching Stacey die - hell, being one of the ones to prompt it - but this certainly shook her to her core.
"Hi, Lizzy." She murmured back, stepping into the room with little doomed steps. Corpse-hazed eyes surveyed the room and the other occupant before dropping to the ground again. "H-how...how are you?" It was probably a useless pleasantry, but suddenly she just didn't know what to say to the Demoness.

"Tired," She muttered in reply, closing the door once Amrita was inside before making her way back into her bed, "Hadn't been sleeping well..." She paused to crawl into bed, sitting with her back resting against the headboard before pulling the covers up to her chest, "Uh, so... What brings you here...?"
She gestured at the bed, inviting Amrita on it; after all, it's not like there was anywhere else for her to sit except the chair at the desk.

Tired. Obviously. The fact that the 'living' slept often bypassed her. Her sleeping involved a few hours of downtime to let rigor run through the corpse, but that was about it. "I'm sorry." Amrita submitted, keeping her head low but eyes lifted. The invitation was stared at for a moment before acted upon, and the ghoul took a seat on the edge of the bed, laying her bag acoss her lap and smoothing out some of the tears and wrinkles in it.
What brought her here indeed.
"I...don't know what to do." Amrita admitted sheepishly, still fidgeting with the bag and becoming almost hellbent on smoothing out this one strip of it. "A-and you...always do s-so I thought I'd..." Something was wrong, something was very wrong, and she was pretty sure she was the cause.
That didn't make this any easier...

"... Why are you sorry?" She was genuinely surprised; while she did feel disappointed at Amrita's choice in the Haunted House, Lizzy also understood the motivation behind that 'yes' - she was sure that most of them voted that 'yes' because they wanted to protect themselves. Protect their friends, school, lifestyle... They didn't want to see what they saw in Death's trial come true.
She didn't either...
"What do you need help with?" Despite the disappointment, she didn't feel any resentment nor anger towards Amrita; even if they have conflicted points of view, she couldn't help but feel the need to just... Well, be there, "What's that?" She gestured at the thing the ghoul was holding onto.

"Did I...do something wrong?" She bypassed the first question entirely, or at least countered it with one of her own. There was still not an ounce of regret in what she had voted to do, but somehow she got the idea that it might not have been the right thing to do. If she could go back though, she likely wouldn't have changed it anyway.
"Actually...this is kind of what I came here to ask about." Stitched and worn hands smoothed down over the wrinkles again, looking at it before fixing her gaze onto Lizzy. "It's his jacket, and tablet." Wrapped in her own, but she kept that to herself. Those hazy eyes of hers drifted back towards the bag. "I didn't know what to do with it." Another fidgeting move, still brushing down the wrinkles and frays. "We shouldn't touch it, Lizzy...I'm not sure it should touch anything in Halloween."

"No... No you didn't," She muttered, more to herself than to Amrita, seeing how she couldn't exactly say that Amrita did anything wrong... Not that it helped with the feelings of disappointment she felt, "Do you think that you did anything wrong?"
She couldn't help feeling even a little, tiny bit of hope.
"... Tablet?" She remembered Shun saying something about a tablet when he came over, "The one the weapon turned into?! Let me see." She frowned, crawling out from under the covers to sit beside Amrita, "You're probably right... But maybe we could find a way to reverse the effect. The hunter said that they had tried and failed, but... Maybe we could find a way. Who knows..."

Oooou, a double-edged sword of a question! Amrita peered at the Demoness out of the corner of her eye, wondering if she was about to walk into some kind of word trap like she had with Invictus. When she decided that no, Lizzy was not Invictus and would probably not make her feel like an inch tall, she licked her dry lips and answered slowly.
"No...not until I saw you." Your expression, anyway she added mentally, going back to fidgeting and this time peeling at some of the frays to make it slightly worse. "Tablet." Amrita confirmed, shuffling a little more onto the bed as Lizzy came up to sit beside her. "Okay but, um...Please don't...touch it." She warned the Demoness before submitting to the inspection, carefully pulling out the yellow bundle of things. Layers were peeled back slowly; her jacket between the hunter's coat and her lap, and the bloody garmet between the tablet and her coat. It was a preventative measure, trying to keep some FEAR-based items between the tablet and anything important. Eventually the blood-splattered Hunter's coat was peeled away enough to see the stone, glowing softly on the sheet of white.
She didn't say anything more after that, but she did watch carefully, hellbent on Lizzy not touching it.

"... But I didn't say anything, Amrita," She tried to keep the anxiousness out of her voice; if Amrita didn't feel guilty, Lizzy really didn't want her to. Especially not if it felt like she was the one guilt-tripping her friend into feeling guilty for the death of a hunter, when it was clearly an inevitable death, "Don't... I mean... You know my stand on the matter. I made it clear, but his death... I saw it coming. Yet I still went on with the mission."
She stared at the tablet; it was hard to believe that this was once a weapon. And that the weapon was once a Halloweener, just like them. Now it looks so... Lifeless. So dead. What was it like, to be taken and converted into one of these?
"Did anyone try to touch it yet...?"

"W-well, no, but..." Lizzy may not have said anything, but... "You look upset." Whomever had let Amrita learn about expressions and emotions should be shot at this point, really. "I don't know...I didn't feel anything until I thought I might have...disappointed you." The ghoul poited her fingers together, twisting one of her index fingers as well as it would physically allow.
"I did." She admitted, opening one hand towards Lizzy; it was somewhat hard to tell, but there was a faint line in her hand where the skin was darker, the colour changing from a sudden burst of decomposition. It had been stopped before it could get worse, but at the time the damage to the body had been done. "It...zapped my fear, and it actually started rotting." Because there wasn't FEAR in that spot to prevent it from happening.

"W-was it really that obvious?" She muttered guiltily and looked down at her lap, going quiet before she finally spoke up again, a little hesitant, "It's not that... It's just that... I didn't expect you, of all people, to vote for killing the hunter. N-not that there's anything wrong with it! I mean, if we let him go, I imagine he'll probably hurt us again, but... But..." She really wasn't sure where she was going with this line of thought; but what? But they should have let him go anyway?
No doubt that was a stupid idea. He didn't seem like someone who would forgive and forget.
She frowned, taking Amrita's hand and gently rubbed at the line, like that would make it go away, "So the tablets can do that too, not only the weapons... I'll keep it somewhere, but maybe Riley will know better what to do with it."

Was it really that obvious? Lizzy, it's Amrita sitting there, telling you that you look unhappy. If she could pick that up, the entire world could pick it up!
"Yes." Amrita admitted with a nod, and then fell silent to let her talk. Was it really that surprising that she would vote for the Hunter's death? Perhaps not vote, but to be one of the first to stand up for the idea? Hm. Maybe...something had changed?
"Why should we let it live? Isn't that what people do to protect their homes? Fight back?" Grey eyes focused on the ghoul, staring hard; in this, she was firm on her opinion. "I...couldn't help it. Lizzy, they hurt us. They've kidnapped us, made us dissipate, killed Red, probably have killed others...and then Hel and Shun..." She shook her head sadly. Lizzy started to fuss and Amrita merely let her, knowing that no amount of rubbing would fix the decomp that had started in her hand. It wouldn't get any worse now unless it happened again or she got out of the body, but it would always be there....well, until she changed hands.
"Yeah---NO." Her agreement on what happened was stopped as Lizzy wanted to take the tablet. Amrita rarely got possessive, but in this she wouldn't budge. "No, Lizzy. I'll keep it. I don't want you to get hurt, and you've got enough on your plate already." There was no move to cover up the tablet, no attempt to hide or keep it from Lizzy; it stayed open on it's bed of bloody coat and yellow jacket, easily taken if it came down to it. "I'll take it to Riley but please...let me keep this. Please? I even have a place to hide it, to keep it safe!" There were loose stones in her room, one could easily make a good hiding nook.

"I know, I know... But the fact that we killed him just made me a little uneasy. I know it had to be done! He hurt Hel and Shun... I know, I know..." She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose, sounding mildly frustrated; she wasn't even sure why she was bothered by that! After all, the hunters never looked like they were bothered about tormenting them!
"That's what Seeds was for, to fight back... To protect. I just... Wanted us to be safe," She couldn't help but feel guilty about Hel and Shun as well, like she had indirectly allowed them to be injured so severely. She didn't even have toe courage to go look for Hel right now, to see how she was coping, "And then our friends got hurt..." She looked away, snapping back quickly at Amrita's abrupt 'no'.
"Aw, Amrita..." Her expression softened, and after a moment's pause, she hesitantly nodded; she had to trust her with this. She's not a child. She can take care of the tablet, even if it was dangerous and caused part of her hand to rot and-
"Only on two conditions," She held up two fingers, her tone firm, "One, when you bring it to Riley, make sure you tell her the origins of this tablet, and how sorry I am that we couldn't deliver a fresh body to her. Two, once she's done analyzing the tablet, update me. Tell me everything. I... I want to know. Or if I'm free, I want to be there too."

Amrita didn't understand the hesitation, but she nodded as if she did, to save Lizzy the heartbreak of having to explain. She'd ask someone else about it... "It's okay." The once-rotted hand reached out to pat Lizzy's arm, at least sympathizing. It was hard to have conflicting emotions, she knew this first hand and the best she could do was...what she was doing right now.
"Thank you." Amrita sighed in relief, thankful that this wasn't going to change hands another time and endanger someone else. She'd keep it safe, hidden, and out of anyone else's way. She perked up at the mention of conditions, and definitely tuned in to hear and understand every word and gesture. Okay...go to Riley, tell her hwat happened, apologize for the body, let her do her voodoo thing and then...tell Lizzy about it.
"Okay. I promise, I'll do those things!" Just to be safe she started to pack up the tablet, carefully folding up the bloody Hunter Coat, and then folding her yellow jacket around that. "I promise I'll take care of it." The fabric package was put back into the bag and then down beside her feet.
"How've you been? It's...been a long time..."
