Nyyrikki was on his way to meet Danny again. They'd been spending nearly every day together since the trials, not that he had a problem with it. His life was beginning to feel normal again, and the nightmares were beginning to fade. They weren't entirely gone, but he found that there were fewer nights of him waking up in cold sweats than there had been before. There was no doubt that Danny was absolutely a part of the process that brought that change, and he couldn't thank her enough if he tried.
He'd heard about a local band playing not far off campus and had planned to surprise her by taking her, which is why he'd asked her to meet him by the bruteball field. However, something caught his eye again just as he neared the field, and he blinked. There was another gold thing lying on the ground. He still hadn't figured out what the last one was, so finding another one was almost distressing.
"What the hell are these?" he groaned, bending to pick it up. Just as it rolled into his palm he knew something was off. There was a strange feeling in the gut of his stomach, and then a flash of light. For a second his panic flared - this was a nightmare come to fruition, a replay of his death - and then there was nothing.
Except... there was something. There was love. Love for peace. Love for good things. Love for the silly little outfit he wore with its frilly skirt, puffy sleeves, and silky ribbon tied around the waist. There was even love for the tiny bow clipped to the short strands of his hair just above his temple.
So much to love, and he felt the need to protect it all.

Danny had been at practice on the bruteball field, working hard for her team. She waved to one of the players as they all broke apart to go change and go back to their dorms, the practice now ended and the day coming to a close. Danny knew Rikki was meeting her for something (he didn't tell her what, but she just assumed it was to walk her back to the dorm. They were both so protective and guarded now...) and she wanted to at least say hi before she went down to the locker rooms to change. So she went to the other side of the field in her full bruteball garb.
She only looked away for a second to pull off her helmet and sling it over her shoulder when she saw him. Danny knew fashion was not her thing, but that outfit was ... it wasn't even ... wat.
"Rikki ... what are you wearing?" she said nervously, looking around to see if anyone else was seeing this. Luckily most of the players had cleared the field, and she didn't see any students around. Rikki's outfit though ... it was sort of embarrassing.

Edel meanwhile, was sitting under a tree reading a book. It was most unfortunate that she had decided to give her eyes a break, as she looked up to see Danny and Rikki .... but mostly Rikki, in a magical ghoul outfit.
It suddenly crossed her mind that the flame demon might have finally convinced her boilfriend into some sort of kinky role-reversal plot.
The ghoul looked back down at her book and flipped the page, the crisp, papery sound of doing so cutting through the air.
She didn't really want to know.

Nyyrikki had honestly forgotten what he was supposed to be doing, so when someone called his name, his head snapped up to the culprit. She was heinous. A crime against all things loving and wonderful in the world. She needed to be taken care of in order to protect his home! He smiled at the thought, and struck a ridiculous pose.
"This is my uniform," he giggled. "It's what I protect Halloween in! I've got to protect it from all evils." He leveled a challenging gaze at her, made creepier by his smile. "That includes you!"

Danny shook her head, still completely confused. "Protecting Halloween? Uniform? Rikki I don't understand." She crossed her arms and took a step back. Seriously, now that she got a better look at it, it was ... It was probably the most hideous thing she'd ever seen. Even if the soft darker blues reminded her of Rikki, there was pink all over it. She knew Rikki hated pink- so did she.
That includes you!
Well yeah, she knew Rikki wanted to protect her too. They both had said it pretty clearly in each others' arms. He didn't need some stupid outfit to protect her. Danny took her eyephone out and quickly snapped a shot of the funny outfit, for blackmail's sake. Maybe she could use it later.
She shook her head a second time, not understanding this bizarre Rikki. Whatever it was- the poses and the outfits ... she didn't like one bit of it. It felt sparkly and wrong. "Look ... I'm gonna go change out of my practice gear ... I'll be back in a second okay?" With that, she turned heels and started walking the other way, still looking around to see if anyone was capturing this embarrassing encounter.

The ghoul couldn't help but overhear what Rikki had said, causing her to shudder and bury herself deeper into her book. Clearly, someone was taking this way too seriously. The frost demon felt like she was intruding on something, something even worse than say walking in on her parents kissing. Maybe she could slowly make her way out of here without being noticed ...
However, Danny's response threw her off her theory, and Edel felt an involuntary sense of relief. So maybe this wasn't the flame demon's idea after all. Good. At least she had some sense of decency.
However, the circumstances could only lead Edel to one conclusion. What the Jack is up with Rikki? Edel didn't really mean to stare, but stare she did. Yes Danny, she's staring right at you.

What had been a pleased smile turned into a confused frown. She was just walking away? He'd just told her he needed to protect Halloween, and she thought that she could just walk away? That wasn't how this worked! "I don't know where you think you're going," he yelled at her turned back, lashing out with his chains which... was their glow a little more sparkly today? Maybe just a little.
"but, I can't just let you get away with wreaking havoc here!" If there hadn't been enough clues earlier that something was wrong with Rikki, the fact that he could even consider hitting Danny was like a bright, blinking sign with sirens.

Danny hadn't even seen it coming. When Rikki had summoned his chains, she thought it a little odd, but she could've never predicted that he would actually hit her. She ducked backwards, but it was no good. The chain left a bright, angry red mark across her arm, and she yelped a little from surprise.
Wreaking havoc? The jack did that even mean? Danny frowned, but she was up for the fight. She hit the boils at this school all the time. A little friendly fight wasn't exactly bizarre.
She did, however, think his timing was rather weird. Normally fights were only allowed in the gym, and never with hostile intent. Rikki was breaking all the rules.
"We were just playing bruteball! There wasn't any- Rikki what are you talking about?" she said, agitated. She really wanted to just go change, and he was being an a** about it. She gave him a not-so-friendly punch in the chest, with a frown and pout on her face. This wasn't the Rikki she knew.

Oh sweet Jack was Rikki finally standing up to Danny and her antics? Edel nodded her head in approval. That was good yes ... but was the outfit necessary?
The ghoul might have got a slight shock to see Rikki whip out his chains at Danny and actually hit her ... but was that really such a surprise? She knew that Danny liked it rough Danny wasn't the ... delicate sort - what's more, she was in her bruteball get up. Edel blinked as she watched Danny charge towards Rikki and punch him oh so lovingly in the chest.
Alright alright, she got it, time for her to leave. The ghoul would just leave those two alone to their lovers' fighting okay? Okay.

Rikki's expression faltered for a brief moment as her punch connected dead center in his chest. However, when he regained composure, he expression was even harder. "You're wreaking havoc just by being here." He drew his chains back, preparing for another hit, when something caught the corner of his eye. He turned to see another ghoul preparing to leave.
"Ah, ah," he shook his head. "You can't sneak off." The hit that he'd planned for the fire demoness found new direction, and his chains lashed at Edel.

Danny just looked at Rikki with horror. No not Rikki. This definitely wasn't Rikki. She looked at whatever the jack was standing before her insulting her and attacking Edel.
Not gonna lie, she kind of enjoyed the attacking Edel part.
She punched him in the arm and said, "Oh my Jack Rikki what has gotten into you? Stop it, seriously."
Now Edel was involved too though. Fabulous. "Ugh why did you have to get her involved? Seriously." SERIOUSLY.

Hold on. Hold on. Why was she getting involved in this too? Edel's eyes widened with shock as she barely managed to avoid the chains that came lashing out at her. Wait, wait. “Ah, ah ah?” She couldn't “sneak off?”
What was Rikki suggesting here.
Edel looked at Rikki. Then Danny. And then back at Rikki.
“Y-Yes I think we shouldn't be doing this, Danny is here after all....” The frost demon was not going to betray Danny like this. Call this an act of what little friendship they had ... or did not have. Whatever. She was being a true friend.
A blast of snowflakes was directed at the Magical Reaper, hoping it would reduce his visibility and allow her to get away. HP: 37 Target: Rikki Damage: 4
