Kian walked along the swaying pathways of a small park in Clarus Arbor. The witch eater liked the loud sounds of the cities, but when he wanted to think, or plot, he'd come here. He gently danced his fingers along the railing of a small bridge that passed overly a small, giggling stream. His blue eyes translucent in the water as it met with its shade. He looked up, feeling a breeze caress his skin, causing his hair to tickle at the base of his neck. He continued moving, enjoying the gentle scenery of what was around him.

While Kian very much enjoyed the interactions of others, even if his part was small in anyone's lives he'd met, he also enjoyed just...existing, even if by himself. He was a passing thought in anyone's mind; a pretty face, a quiet smile, or his most beloved opinion, "a regret." But when he was here, away from those he'd come to consider pawns, or perhaps even friends, he wasn't exactly sure himself, he felt really alive.

He wouldn't deny a friend, but he didn't really know what use he had for them if they were there "just because." A menial companionship between lifeforms to him was mundane, but he never seemed to deny a potential "friend." He'd make up a reason to have them later, it seemed. Why though? He wasn't quite sure. Perhaps trying to just be that passing image in a person's mind was wearing thin on him, or perhaps he was correlative to any "normal" person?

He sighed, breaking out of his thoughts, astonished as to what even brought on this stroll of the mind. He paused, seeing a family walk along the cobbled stones, wondering what their story was, or even if that child was a majin. What if the parents were? Kian figured no one thought the way he did, but it wasn't something that troubled him. He was more than aware of the differences when it came to him and the world; the wings at his back were testimony enough for the dichotomy between regular men, and himself. But when it came to the homogenous traits, he was baffled as to which ones they were.

He looked up at the sun, his eyes wincing as the powerful rays seared his corneas. Blinking, he looked down, watching people moving to and from the park. He had his wings hidden, but any self respecting witch eater would be able to know he was one of them, just like any self respecting hunter would know he was indeed a witch eater. His appearance was probably frightful, with the skull on his face, hiding away his mutilated eye socket, and that very eye that floated about him, still able to see. He smiled, smug in his opinion that the children playing on the monkey bars wouldn't go near him. He wasn't fond of children; they were always sticky... he loathed that.

Kian settled into the bench, content with his onlooking. He was always the observer, and never the actor. Perhaps this life was losing its shimmer? Or perhaps Kian was simply just waiting for another game...

Jarek always seemed to have far too much pent up energy to be contained by one person. In fact he seemed to have almost too much for two people and that simply led to a lot of scuffles, exploring, and horrifically long conversations with his familiar. In fact he was currently engaged in a mental one at the moment, one which had many people giving him odd looks as he strode past them, oblivious to the stares.

Really, it's a terrible name. Grimm muttered, floating in front of his master's face as he walked.

"I think it's a great name." Jarek countered, flicking the tiny fire spirit with one of his claws. "Besides it's been the same for a few years now."

I'm not really suggesting that it be changed...

"Then why the fu--"

I just want you to admit that you gave me a terrible name.

"That will definitely never happen."

Jarek rolled his eyes and waved off the tiny spirit which simply circled around his head to float over his shoulder instead. Once the blob of flame was out of his field of vision he paused and glanced around, frowning a little as he attempted to get his bearings straight. How far had he walked since he had started his conversation with his familiar, anyways? It had, after all, been rather lengthy and had started on one end of the spectrum, slowly spiraling into the the other. It could have been minutes or hours that it had gone on though, judging from where it seemed that they were... Well, it looked like they'd walked all the way to Clarus Arbor.

"This is totally... Mostly your fault, you know." Jarek muttered, staring off as he mulled over the various options the he had left to him, not even realizing that he was staring at a person.

If you say so. Though you might want to apologize to the stranger you just told that. Your manners get worse daily.

"Shut up!"

Jarek focused, peering at the man he'd been staring at before heaving a sigh and moving to scratch the back of his head, looking as if he felt bad but... Wasn't sure how emasculating it would be to apologize. Finally he took a step towards the other man, noting that their coloration was nearly polar opposite, probably the same with their personalities if Jarek's 'luck' was with him, and brandished a claw covered hand. He looked away, attempting to look bored instead of awkward and mildly guilty, sneaking a peek back at the other man out of the corner of his eye as he did so.

"Sorry, wasn't yelling at you, I was arguing with my familiar. Sometimes I forget our conversations aren't as private as I think." Jarek muttered, looking away, then back again. "So, uh... Yeah... Sorry and all that..."

Kian raised an eye brow, watching the man stare...directly at him and continue having a one sided conversation. It was like Kian was suddenly a wall. He tilted his head to the side, his brow raising even higher. Was his man insane?

He allowed a polite smile to grace his features as the other apologized, and explained the situation. Kian's floating eye went to the flying mass of, self-aware...fire? Well, that's what Kian presumed it to be until further correction at least. His own eye, floating away from his body, came back to hover right next to the side it used to belong, until Kian ruthlessly defiled his own face, for self gain in the art of observation.

"That's quite alright. Sometimes I talk to myself, but usually I'm at least more subtle about it." If he took it as an insult, so be it. Kian wasn't one for pleasing others, or sugar coating even the smallest of phrases.

He smiled again, this time more politely, his eye then going to the other side of his face, to analyze the man before him and his ...pet. Kian was acutely aware of this man's position in the world, yet clearly, the other was not, nor would be, aware of Kian's, unless the witch eater found it necessary. Usually that didn't end well when the other was a potential "enemy," even if Kian was for the most part, harmless. It was his words that were vicious...

"I'm Kian. Might I ask your name?" He pressed his wings tighter against his back, just for a bit more reassurance.
