"...Puppy, I...I think you need to do the icing decorations instead of me."

Eva was no stranger to cake decorating--she had helped her mom make cakes for various occasions ever since she was a kid--but the difference between then and now was which hand she was using to decorate the cake. With her right shoulder injured, she was forced to use her left hand to do most of the work. While gathering the ingredients and mixing the batter had been easy enough (if not a little messier than usual), trying to ice on words and decorations with her non-dominant hand was proving to be a great deal of trouble. For example, what she was currently working on was supposed to be a heart.

It looked more like a shaky, shriveled apple. Hoping that Otto could salvage it, she held the icing bag out to him and eyed all the ingredients that were strewn over the counter top.

What was all of this for? Or rather, who was all of this for? Considering that Eva had managed to rope Otto into helping, the answer to that was obvious: Reine. After the mission...well, it had taken a bit of a toll on everyone involved, but Eva was not blind to the fact that it was clearly affected Reine the most. She had been the leader for the mission, and things--things that Eva firmly believed were not her friend's fault--had quickly spiraled to hell. Thanks to her practically nocturnal sleeping schedule, Eva hadn't seen much of her friend for the past few days, but when she did...

Oh, poor Reine. She just hoped that the girl didn't feel guilty for everything that happened.

"Decorate the cake as you see fit," Eva told the blond boy, lifting a hand to rub at her tired eyes with the back of her hand, "Though regardless of how it looks in the end, I'm sure it'll still taste good." At least, with the sweet scent of vanilla and strawberries filling the kitchen, it certainly smelled good.

"The Hell is that 'sposed ta be?" Otto remarked at her cake decorating. He knew she was a bit handicapped due to her injury, but it didn't stop him from criticizing. But when she asked him to do it? He looked shocked. "Uh...." He took the icing bag anyway, staring down at the cake he needed to finish decorating.

"Yeah.. it smells good." Otto did have a weakness for cake, and this one smelled amazing. He licked his lips, and then leaned down, concentrating very, very hard on trying to fix the heart. And the lettering. How hard could writing be? But it was very hard without a pencil or pen.

Still, when Eva had come to him for help, despite sighs and belly aching, he honestly did want to help. Not that he'd ever admit that.

The heart was fixed. As for other decorations, they mostly involved a frame of squiggly lines. Otto was no cake decorator. "Uh...it uh... at least it'll taste good."

"Reine, Reine, Reine, Reine, guess what?"

Justin didn't wait for Reine to guess what. Despite her setting her hearth in the dorms rooms in stead of the hospitals, the girl was obviously still feeling raid sick. As in, she was feeling left out because noone would invite her to raids. As in, she needed more friends and more cool items, because clearly cool items would solve all of the things.

Now, the Mist trainee had personally appointed himself the guild mat supplier, so, considering how often he wandered up and down the cafeteria, kitchens, and dorm rooms looking for new supplies to move around (and occasionally consume for buffs of course), the cake had obviously caught his attention. It was white, fluffy, and - he was going to share his find.

"Okay, so I found this PVP zone, but the loot is pretty good," Justin was explaining, dragging Reine by one arm, "You got your weapons and stuff right, so this is what we're gonna do, we're gonna charge in, challenge them honourably into a duel, 2 vs 2 of course, and then claim the prize." They were nearing the (newly renovated) kitchens now, as the Mist trainee suddenly stopped right in front of the doorway, peered left and right for other signs of danger - one never knew when they were going to get ganked after all - before peering into the room. The two busy bees were still at it. "Okay, okay, on my count. One.... two....."

"THREE!" He burst into the room, guns blazing, or well, just one axe-shaped weapon, waving it around wildly. "We hereby challenge you to a PVP match!"

Since the fight with Rep Reine had more-or-less recovered; at the very least, all thoughts of killing herself had been safely shoved out of the way, leaving just a cloud of confusion.. and tiredness. No matter what Rep said, the guilt would linger for a long time- the fear of failure, still, the fear of facing up to what she'd done. Rep himself was arguably doing fine- as far as she knew, the others were alive as well.

She didn't think she should seek them out, and so she'd spent days in her room, hiding under the covers, in Mister Cuddles' soft fluffy arms. Maybe she was overcomplicating things- and there really wasn't that much to think about. In simple terms- in Rep terms- the fact that they were alive meant they should keep fighting on. And she understood that, she really did, she just couldn't quite bring herself to do it, yet.

Each time Justin asked- and he visited often enough- Reine came closer and closer to saying 'yes' to raid requests. Maybe today she would be ready for it- maybe the day after. It was strange, when she'd once looked forward to it so much, when she'd simply, single-mindedly wanted to become stronger, now it was that very same thing she was trying to avoid.

Today it seemed he wouldn't take no for an answer, forcibly dragging her out of Mister Cuddles' warm embrace and down the hallway towards the kitchen. The last she'd been here, it had been a complete wreck, but now it looked as good as new. Maybe that was some kind of lesson Justin was trying to teach her, that she could be a new person, too, with all his explanations about 'PVP'- but then she caught the word 'duel'.

Wait what.

She followed behind him, peering over his shoulder at-- Eva and Otto.

Eva. She wasn't ready for this.

"Justin," she whimpered, grabbing the back of his shirt and pulling him backwards. She really, really didn't want to be here, not right now.

Eva stared at the squiggle frame on the cake, and then she looked back up at Otto. There was a moment of silence, and then she suddenly laughed, propping her left hand up on her hip. "Hey, hey, and you criticized me for my heart? Don't forget that I'm injured, Puppy!" The tone in her voice was obviously teasing, though. Really, the squiggles didn't look that bad. They were rather, er...artistic, even?

Yes? Kind of?

Most importantly, though, was the fact that the cake was done and was now ready to be delivered. The only question was how to go about it. Knitting her brows together, she stared at the cake intently. "I wonder how we should...I mean, I don't have a box or anything. Maybe we could just lift the plate that the cake is sitting on and bring it to Reine's room?"

She moved forward to do just that, and had her hand already half-slid beneath the plate when someone burst in and suddenly challenged them to...something. She wasn't really sure what--she was more focused on the fact that she had nearly flipped the whole goddamn cake thanks to the sudden scare. Breathing a sigh of relief, she immediately pulled her hand away from the baked good--maybe it would be safer to have Otto carry it--before turning to look at their unexpected visitor.

Eva shot Otto a very confused look before leaning in and whispering, "Who is this guy? And why is he waving his weapon arou--Reine!"

And then she saw a familiar face behind the strange yelling man. She took a step towards her, but paused in confusion when she noted that Reine seemed to be trying to go the opposite direction, away from them. Stopping, Eva frowned slightly, but this was quickly replaced by a small smile as she turned to gesture towards the cake.

"Er, Reine, we uh. Puppy and I have something for you."

Otto didn't laugh. He tried hard at those squigg---okay no he didn't. He'd just been playing with the icing. Still, no laughter, but that was normal for him.

Otto was ready to take that cake from her, knowing she only had one good arm, when justin bursted in and nearly gave Otto a heart attack. He whirled around with eyes wide at the crazy person, wondering just how many frogs he licked today to become that level of crazy.

His face returned to some semblance of neutral, until Reine appeared behind the stranger. Why was she hiding? He'd never seen her like that. Had she been kidnapped by the frog licker?

He simply judged them for now. With his eyes of judging.

Always.

"THE CAKE IS MINE!" Is pretty much the only thing Justin said as he beelined for the cake-

- As pretty much the cake exploded in a glorious burst of white frosting, strawberries, and cake filling-

- As the room pretty much was covered in a glorious burst of white frosting, strawberries, and cake filling-

- As the trainees were pretty much covered in a glorious burst of white frosting, strawberries, and cake filling -

- Leaving one Mist Trainee scooping up a sizeable remain of the confection to stuff into his mouth, munching on it thoughtfully, still holding his weapon as he waved it up and down at the trio. It was hard to tell if he was waving at them or threatening them.
