 A lone mare scanned her surroundings. The darkened forest provided her a level of comfort. As dark as her body's coloration was her little orbs of light illuminated only a small portion of her form. Stepping in and out of the pools of light the Angeni mare kept her senses open. She was wary but peering intently beyond her lighted path. Waves of hair blocked her vision for a moment as her wings gently fluttered at her side. A walking contradiction; dark as she was she was never fully concealed in open spaces. Her ability to manifest balls of light in the near surroundings was a blessing. She'd never trip over any unseen obstacles on the forest floor.
Her head tilted up towards the sky. To fly tonight would require her to find a path out of this forest. She gave a quiet laugh. She was not lost. She was just taking a longer time to exit the forest proper. She had found none to play tricks on since she had encountered the strange stallion Shalar. He was a mystery that she was still trying to solve. However tonight she wished to be alone. It may not have been a wise decision but she was comfortable enough. A late night walk on a clouded night was perfect for her to test her range. She closed her eyes and concentrated deeply. Little orbs of blue light began to appear and Azkadellia sent them dancing around the forest.  It was a cold, overcast night, the weather was quite honestly miserable, fireflies zipped around and flashed, one in particular lit up directly in front of a pair of ominous cat gold eyes. Vincent did not mind the weather, he could care less, unless there were any REAL extremes, he was just dandy to do whatever the hell he felt like, when he felt like it. Including going out at night to letch around for mares.
He stretched his wings and grunted in satisfaction, his fish like tail swiveling about behind him, he was powerfully built, and most creatures would stay far out of his way, as they did with anything of obvious kalona decent. He grinned saucily at the obvious scampers from the nearby bushes of something running for their little lives. He silently thanked his snappy mother for that, though of course, he didn't exist in her eyes. Ah well, life goes on.
His thoughts were beginning to stray to maybe catching some of whatever was going on in the bushes, and then he stopped, almost completely dumbfounded as a little blue orb wove around tree trucks in front of him. " What the-?" He raised an eyebrow and pinned his wings to his side, narrowing his eyes in concentration and following the little light. Where would such a thing lead someone? Well he wasn't stupid enough to fall into a trap or whatever, he had heard of spirits that did that. So just in case he kept a little away from the thing, keeping his surroundings in mind.
Then it occurred to him that when not a spirit of some spooky kind, such lights usually came with friends. So he tried something.
" Oy!" he called " Someone makin lights out here?"

"Oy!" "Someone makin lights out here?"
The words crushed the silence of the forest that had been Azkadellia's companion. Her eyes snapped open and one by one the little orbs began to wink out. Drat. The mare considered her options before snorting softly. To reveal herself or not? The last time she'd found adventure and while it was always fun trying to trick another Soquili this one seemed wiser. It was already like he had figured out her game. She could tell it was a stallion because of the timbre and pitch of the voice. Azkadellia peered into the darkness now before summoning a single orb of light. It danced in front of her form as she moved a little closer to where it sounded like the voice had originated from.
"There might be someone. Why don't you come and find out?"
The mare grinned to herself before finding the darkest patch of shadows and standing in it. Her orb floated lazily in the space she had vacated before slowly fading into nothingness.

A rather toothy grin spread across his face, as after a moment of silence in the woods, a voice answered him back. A distinctly feminine voice at that. Perhaps it was his lucky night! " Ohhhh if that's an invitation, i'll certainly take you up on it." He replied smoothly, going towards where her voice had come from, spying a small orb of light bouncing around in the darkness. Even if it was a spirit or a ghoul or some odd thing here, it was a girl, or at least pretending to be. If it was a mare he'd be sure to entertain the idea of a companion for the night, if not, well he WAS a bit hungry.
He wove through the trees like a muddy eel, his tail making a hissing rustle as it brushed by bushes and trees. " Marco~" he called, mimicing the two legger game he had seen one summer, watching them as they played in the water.
He didn't see anything immediately, his eyesight in the dark was pretty average, he wished he could see in the dark as well as those damned walkers, but ah well, one should count his blessings. He wrinkled his nose as he saw the light flicker and die. "Hmmm" he grunted. " Looks like this is gonna be a little trickier than i thought~" He mused out loud, hoping to make the spirit mare do something else so as to track where she was. All games came with prizes. He grinned sharply, he liked those kinds of games.

Azkadellia listened to the response from the stallion before hearing his movements through the foliage that spanned the distance between them. She relaxed her wings and allowed them to fold gently against her back before stepping further into the shadows that concealed her. She flicked her gaze up to where her orb of light had been before she watched the stranger make his entrance. What an unusual looking specimen. The wings spoke of a Kalona pedigree ... but the tail was all wrong. Peering was not enough it seemed. The Angeni mare once again brought forth a little light to dance in front of the stallion's face before brushing past the darkness that hid her own form.
Hopefully he'd be intrigued enough by the light that she could sneak up around him or at least partially startle him from emerging from the shadows. She'd heard the word "Marco" emitted from the stallion's form and she grinned saucily. Her voice was quiet as she spoke the expected reply. "Polo."
As she spoke she came into view. Long tresses covered a portion of her face and her wings gently unfolded from her back and snapped open before she settled herself. "Hello there."

His eyes darted back and forth, trying to find this spooky mare that hid in the shadows and made ghosty lights. Finally she spoke again, very close this time! He smirked and turned to face a very interesting looking mare indeed! His tail swished about behind him, stirring up the dead leaves on the ground with his excitement. She had four wings, FOUR! He had heard of creatures like this but had never really seen one, he had heard they were very rare indeed, it was his lucky night indeed! " Well hello to you too gorgeous" He oiled at her, she all seemed to blend into the darkness except for where those little ghost lights illuminated her, she looked like she was all the same color, very weird to the eyes, perhaps that's just what she did.
He tucked his wings to his sides and smirked confidently down at her " So you were the one makin those lights huh? Trickin folks? You're a sneaky one." He chuckled roughly. " Most mares I know would be sleepin by now" His cat yellow eyes flickered with the light of the ghost fire " it's dangerous out in the dark ya know.

Azkadellia gave no noticeable reaction to stallion's first statement. If he thought that he could be suave with such a uninteresting pickup line - well who was she to tell him it needed work. Azkadellia moved out of the shadows that hid her form and circled around the open space. She made sure to avoid the stallion's tail as tripping over it probably wouldn't make a good impression. She stopped short of her circular route and chuckled softly. "The lights were my doing."
As she spoke another one appeared in front of her before disappearing. "I like tricking folks as you call it. It's a game I like to play. I see how frustrated my victims can get before they give up."
Her tail swished out behind her as she spoke, gently stirring the leaf litter around that lay on the ground causing a faint rustling sound to overlay her words. "I don't believe that it at all sneaky. It's amusing for me. Since night is the best time to play well I tend to stay awake."
Azkadellia's wide blue eyes took in the stallion's form before she registered his last sentence. "I am not foolish enough to ignore this little fact that you bring up. But hardly anyone ever catches me unless I let them. Have you ever thought you might be in danger here too?"
The mare was playing a game now. She wanted to see if she could get under this stallion's skin a bit.

He curled his tail in interest and watched her circle, glancing every once in a while at the lights that seemed to pop up at her beck and call. " That sounds fun" he chuckled huskily " I like playing with folks, but sometimes they end up dinner...so i...play with my food?" He grinned sharply at his own joke. " Trickin em is kinda hard when your tummy is rumbling."
He grunted " Most mares I ever seen are day walkin dilly dallies, pretty to look at but not much for brains...sometimes tasty." He slimed at her " The night is where it's at anyway, if you know what i mean" He grinned even wider, this girl was obviously ignoring his oily tactics, but he didn't much mind, normally you didn't when you were a crazy creeper.
" Hmmmm" he rumbled, tucking his wings to his sides, his feathers rustling " It takes a lot for ANYTHING to be a danger to ME lady" He chuckled roughly, his eyes a little too wide, their color a little too golden in the darkness. " Not many choose to mess with a kalona mix of any kind." He said simply.

She wasn't born yesterday. Azkadellia knew that this stallion, this kalona mix was not the type of Soquili that she should be toying with. The added danger though is what made the encounter exciting. She let all the orbs of light vanish as she stood in front of the stallion. They still hadn't had any formal introductions. Her gaze traveled over the stranger's form before she registered what it was that he'd said. A small chuckle escaped her before she even realized it.
"You play with your food," she made a small facial expression. It was somewhere between revulsion and interest, "That's not a pleasant image."
Azkadellia wasn't exactly sure why she was still lingering. By now she would have taken her leave of a meeting once the game fell through. It would have left the poor Soquili in question wondering what it was that he or she had seen. Smirking more to herself Azkadellia ruffled her wings. She had finally regained the feathers that she'd lost during her other encounter. She gave a sidelong look towards the stallion before her. "What's your name stranger?"

His tail swished behind him, making a slithery sound across the carpet of dead leaves they stood upon. Though he hadn't been in water for quite a while he still was somehow very wet and even slightly slimy, possibly having to do with his greasy way of living. " Indeed" he replied matter o factly " if food wasn't meant to be played with, it wouldn't have been so goofy and try to run away all the time" He chuckled at his bad joke.
He inhaled a breath of the cool night air, a nice respite from the blazing of the summer sun, he liked to hide in caves or in bogs, he had no real "home" to speak of so he tended to lurk wherever he thought it would be fun. He liked night time the best, wherever he happened to be. He watched her odd feathery wings settle down in the downy sort of way feathers did, he had wings more like a bat, he wondered if they felt SO different to fly on. " My name's Vincent, Vincent Nail" He wiggled his nose, his nose ring swinging " Apparently it suits me~ and you my delicious looking night company?"He oiled, wiggling his ears.

Azkadellia waited for the stallion's response. She was cautious as she could be in the stranger's company. The sound of his tail crunching the leaves but a small grimace to her expression before it melted away into that of a neutral stance. The mare wondered why she wasn't more tense in Vincent's presence. Especially with the reveal that he liked to play with his food. Kalona's were known to attack Soquili and yet so far this stallion was not giving any signs of wanting to attack.
After the learning of the stallion's name Azkadellia eyed Vincent's wings noting the difference between her feathery wings and his leathery looking ones. As she took those in she realized that Vincent had asked her name. "Vincent. Hmm it does suit you. As for myself ... I am called Azkadellia."
Azkadellia let her name set in before pausing dramatically. "So what brings you into my domain Vincent Nail? Besides my lights."

" Az-ka-dell-ia" He sounded out, as if he were trying to taste the syllables as they were rolling off his tongue. " Neat name" he commented off hand, his eyes glittering as he looked her over once more, she nearly blended in with everything , being almost all the same color, then again, it was hard to see him in the darkness sometimes...he liked that.
" Your "domain" is it?" He chuckled, his voice like brittle glass " well that's not very nice, other folks can't just walk through on occasion? I don't see your name on anything around here..." He cocked an eyebrow at her " I was just passing through really...lookin for a little bit of...hmmmm...FUN" he grinned at her lewdly.
