Declan walked along the river calmly, skipping stones in the river as he went. It was now Spring and as the weather got warmer one could barely walk into the market without worrying about stepping on the children running through your legs. So at those times he felt the river was the best place to find peace and not worry about the kids.

Cael smiled as she walked slowly along the riverbank. She had set out that morning to collect flowers to sell in the marketplace later for a bit of extra money. She looked up at the sound of something splashing and was delightfully surprised to see a familiar face. She hesitated, trying to recall his name.

Declan looked up and smiled as he recognized a familiar face. The girl he had met at the Christmas party. He walked up to her and smiled. "Hi, I don't know if you remember me. We met at the Christmas party at the tower. I'm Declan."

She looked a bit relieved as he re-introduced himself to her. "I remeber you. I'm Cael. It's been a while. How have you been?" She smiled warmly to him and let her basket fall to her side a bit as she talked.

Declan grinned down at her happy he hadn't been forgotten. "I've been alright." It really had been a while since they had last seen each other. They were teenagers at the time and surrounded by so many people that they didn't have much time to talk at all. "So what brings you to the river, today?"

She shifted to ease the fatigue in one leg, glancing around for a place for them to sit and talk. With an grin and a small motion she gestured to a nearby bench as she answered. "I was gathering flowers to sell for spare change. Mostly I was just trying to find an excuse to be outside enjoying the weather while it lasts. You?"

Declan smiled lightly. "I normally do walk around the market during the days, but there are so many children running around lately I'm worried about tripping over one of them." He ran his hand through his hair sheepishly. "So... um what flowers were you thinking of selling?"

She laughed as she pictured him swarmed by a sea of children. She shrugged at his question. "I'm not really sure to be honest. Whatever is in bloom today I suppose." She glanced to the community garden behind her and smiled. "Looks like lillies."

He looked into the garden as well and smiled. "Well you will be fairly busy. Would you like some help?" Declan's question was genuine; he wasn't doing anything and he wanted to spend some time with an old friend.

She watched him to see if he was teasing her before smiling wide and nodding. "I'd love the help. Thank you." To be honest she was just happy to have an excuse to spend more time with him and maybe get to know him better.

Declan grinned, "All right then. Just tell me what needs to be done and I'll do it." He moved into the garden and looked at the flowers. "So... is there anyone special in your life?"

"Just pick some lillies. Not to many though, we don't want to be greedy." She followed him into the garden humming. She blushed a bit at his question. "Special? No. Not me. You?"

"No, no one yet." He calmly began gathering some of the lilies. "Miss Cael are there any other types of flowers you would like?"

"Hmm. I suppose some tulips and bluebells to give a little color to choose from." She motioned to both patches and moved away to peer at the roses that were just starting to bloom. "They'll be beautiful when they come into flower don't you think?"

Declan smiled, "Tulips and bluebells it is." He began moving to collect what she had asked for but always kept her in his sight. He wasn't sure why, but he knew he wanted to stay around this shy little mare. "I'm sure they will be fairly beautiful. Since you like flowers so much, have you thought of making your own garden to look at while you are at home?"
