A very unlikely pair made their way from the front gates of Phonyland, heading toward the stables. Hot Rod was a pegasus phony inhabitant of the park, but beside him walked what appeared at first glance to be a handsome young man with stylishly untidy reddish hair, but then one noticed the mule ears, and hooves peaking out from his jeans, and the brushy tail flickering as they walked along.
Jasper was a hyte, a genetic hybrid from a "pet shop" from the same mind that had also produced the phonies. Having the same owner/mother the mule-hyte and phony looked at each other as brothers. Being male equines was an additional connection one thing they had in common only with each other and not the rest of the odd adopted family.
This morning Jasper was pulling what appeared to be a piece of rolling luggage and Roddy had a few bags drapped over his shoulders.
"All this stuff makes it look like you're moving in, bro," Roddy commented with a laugh.
"Silk said the same thing when I left this morning with the bags," Jasper said his return laughter having a rueful tinge.
Roddy paused, "She spent the night at your place again?" Roddy shook his head. Though the pegasus enjoyed using Jasper's apartment as a hang out the fact that their c*cktail sister and neice had practically taken the spareroom as their own was a completely different issue. "She and Kit would probably love if you did..."
Jasper laughed more genuinly now. "They'd have to figure out how to pay the rent real quick then, if they wanted to hold on to the place," he replied grinning. "I suppose they could always help out at the bar as well, but I don't know if Maxwell would be willing to offer up more paying positions."
"I'm sure they could manage something. I just wish they acctually would find their own place instead of trying to take over yours." that said the phony readjusted the bags on his back. "Let's get moving and get this stuff to my place so you can set up. I doubt I'll be having much company but it'd be nice to have a small bar setup of my own."
