Joachim stood outside the demon dorms with his flute wrapped tightly in his fist. Merel stood on his head squeaking as if asking why they were still standing outside instead of heading in.
"I'm... nervous." He replied looking at his favorite flute out of his collection before dropping his hand to his side. He didn't carry any sheets of music or even a stand, not that he couldn't read music but most of what he knew he played enough to memorize it. He also didn't' know why he was nervous, he was good or at least he knew he was good enough. Joachim had been playing flute since he could walk, he had the talent, and the motivation to practice. So why was he nervous?
Sucking in a deep breath of air he moved forward opening the door and letting the darkness of the hallway engulf him as the door shut. He guessed there was no turning back as his heeled boots clicked across the wooden floor.
Passing various numbers he counted looking for the one that had 62 written on it as the moths in his stomach seemed to gather in numbers. Pausing in front of he he stared for a moment and then finally knocked.
"Err...hello.... is Danny there?" His replied his voice rather soft.

Why did people have the ridiculous ability to always visit her right as she got out of the bathtub? Not that it made a single ounce of difference in Danny's mind. She would've greeted people naked just as readily as she would if she were fully dressed. Quite frankly, there wasn't much of a difference between naked and dressed for her.
She pulled on some clothing and opened the door with a fireball next to her hair, looking completely disheveled. Her face had a big bright smile and she said, "Yes Danny's here. I mean I'm here. I'm Danny!" Sometimes thoughts were hard, okay.
Danny opened the door wider to give Joachim space to come in, but didn't quite move aside yet. "Who're you? And uh ... what's up?" She was still friendly as always, but ever since the hunters she'd been a bit ... testy.

His fingers continued to wrap and unwrap around the flute as he stared at the rather cheerful looking fire demon.
Joachim's mind went blank.
Merel on the other hand squeaked loudly on the top of his head and waved to the ghoul before pulling on the reaper's hair trying to bring him back to reality.
"... oh SORRY it is nice to meet you Danny..." He replied quickly as his face turned a dark shade of red, holding out his hand as if to offer a shake he gave her a faint smile.
"I am Joachim Von Helmar.... ummm.... Nikki told me to come to you about auditioning....... for the music club.... if that is ok..... I mean I don't mean to disturb you if your busy......... I can come back another time............ I play flute...... and...." His voice kept growing softer each time he spoke before completely ending when Merel pulled on his hair again.
"Oh and this is Merel she is also pleased to meet you..." He replied pointing to the black mouse on his head. She squeaked in agreement and nodded before giving a little bow.

Danny looked at Joachim rather blankly for a moment, but still smiling like the airhead she was. She pulled the door open a tad wider and said, "Uhhh I dunno who Nikki is, but sure!" She was about to ask who Nikki was, but the mouse distracted her.
No scratch that. THE CUTEST WUTEST MOUSE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD distracted her. Danny's hands impulsively reached out to pet it, not even waiting for Joachim's permission.
"Mouseyyyyyyyy," was all you got out of her after that.

Joachim gave her a puzzled look as she said she didn't know who Nikki was. Had he gotten the reaper's name wrong? Now that he thought about it Nikki was rather female sounding versus the name the boil had given him, actually he shouldn't be surprised if he had the wrong name.
"Umm..... the boil.... reaper... who pays drums....." He replied shrinking down with each word as the demon started to pet the mouse on his head. He was not expecting that.
Merel on the other hand was more than happy with the attention as she gave a few happy squeaks.

Immediately Danny thought of Rikki when Joachim mentioned a reaper who played the drum, but the thought dispersed as soon as it condensed. There must've been thousands of reapers who played the drums. Not to mention Joachim alread said the boil's name was Nikki. Coincidence then.
Besides, Danny had her focus set on the mouse. She'd now picked it up and was holding it in her cupped hands, stroking the area between its ears very gently. Mouseyyyy.
When Joachim spoke again, she looked up almost like she'd forgotten he was there. Quite frankly she had. "Huh? Oh yeah. Uh why don't we go tothe common room and you can play there?" Anything that would let her hold the mousey longer.
