There were many interesting facilities at Amityville, and Aleria's head was swimming trying to keep up with how...different it was. They were, in fact, the equivalent of some bumbling country bumpkin. The port town of Shayala was burgeoning now, but during their youth, it had been small. Small, and cloistered off.
Of course, there was nothing Aleria hated more than ignorance, so there had been...Much research done on the topic of the school itself.
Some of it involved reading things in the library, devouring them at a frenetic pace. And yet, Aleria still felt out of touch with current events...so they decided to study that instead.
Which, really, involved Aleria hanging out in corridors, staring at people as they walked by, listening in on their conversations in a ...
Less than blatant fashion.
Nonetheless! They had heard one of them talking about hotsprings and coldsprings, which tickled them absolutely teal!
So they had gone to the maul, and very excitedly purchased a swimsuit. It was teal and black, in lean stripes that flattered their figure. It had ruffles at the chest and the waist, to sort of give the illusion that the demon had more of a figure than they truly did.
Over it was their traditional coat, its fur trim dragging along the ground as they made their way inside.
"Jack," the demon murmured, blinking their inky black eyes at their surroundings. "This is impressive."

He had heard something about hotsprings in the school, a result of some... Odd field trip or class or something. He really wasn't sure. Either way, since he had nothing better to do between packing and waiting for the Horsemen exchange program to start, he decided to make his way down to where the hotsprings was supposed to be located, taking his familiar along since the word 'hot' had a certain appeal to the reptile. Besides, he really wanted to forget about the whole... Magical ghoul incident.
It never happened.
Somehow, he ended up walking around half the campus with nothing but a pair of swimming trunks on, and one of his coats over that... Which meant that he spent the whole thing feeling like some kind of a flasher... OPEN COAT. GHOULS SCREAM.
When he finally reached the cave, he grinned, walking in only to find it relatively empty. The first person to catch his attention was, of course, the only other person with a coat on. Bonus points for being a ghoul, although with a hairstyle like that, he wondered if maybe she was someone who was playing for the other team.
"Oh, sssstop with your sssstereotyping, darling," The snake wrapped around his shoulders shook her head, as if reading his mind. Honestly, she just wasn't sure what to make of the grin on his face.
"I like the way you dress," He appeared behind the ghoul, his grin widening as he took a quick glance around, "Impressive place, isn't it?"

Aleria had heard a similar rumor, which had led them to the scene. They, too, were set to go on the horseman exchange program: after all the excitement of the trials, Aleria wanted in on the action, too! They contentedly slid off the coat, revealing that they had some semblance of a figure; a slight flaring of the hips, to be sure.
They turned to the voice, peering at the newcomer. "Thank you!" they croon, smiling razor sharp teeth at the attractive fellow. They rain black claws through their shock of white hair, putting it up in a side ponytail.
They had a Plan. "It is most impressive," the demon agrees, giggling a little, giddy. Their voice was evenly pitched; feminine and masculine in equal parts. Their skull pin was attached to the strap of the bathing suit, practically invisible against them.
Black eyes peered at Thanatos, before Aleria realized that they were staring for a few seconds too long, and being a bit rude in the process. Sticking out a hand, the demon smiled. "Are you here for the springs too, dear?" Aleria looked at Thanatos' shirtless chest, assuming yes, but you could never be too sure! It was warm, here, so warm! Maybe people dressed like this normally!
"Oh, who is your friend here! Hello! I do not mean to be rude in any fashion, you know, you must forgive me." A bright, toothy grin. "I rather like snakes, so do not think that I am leaving you out of things, and all of that!"

Thanatos seemed to have filed Aleria under the 'ghoul' category in his mind as he took the offered hand, although he didn't shake - just simply hold onto her hand before sliding his fingers down to grasp hers, "Why, yes I am. I do not normally walk around shirtless, if that's what you were curious about. Thanatos, at your service." He bowed his head to kiss her knuckles before letting go, using the same hand to pet the snake, "And this is Biskoto, my familiar."
She hissed, tongue flicking in and out as she took in the new smells in this place; it was humid and warm, which suited her just fine. However, this ghoul smelt a little like... Plants? However, she also looked ice cold... Which was a shame, since she wasn't sure she wanted any pets from someone with such cold hands.
"It'ssss nice to meet you, darling," She seemed to smile when Aleria mentioned that she liked snakes, "Do you? That'ssss a pleassssant sssurprissse!"

Aleria peered down as his lips touched the skin of their hand, surprised that he...didn't get stuck like the last boil who had tried. The demon attributed that small bit of luck to the warmth around them, emanating from the springs. "Greetings! I am Aleria, and hail from the northern city of Shayala. I suppose Amityville is fortunate. It is so warm, here, that I wish others would wear less clothing as well."
They look almost wistful at the thought. When the boil released their hand, Aleria bent down to croon lightly at the snake, stroking her head lightly with the barest of touches.
The demon had long, thick, black claws to be careful with, after all, and inky black eyes met the snake's, a grin tugging their lips upwards. "Nice to meet you as well, madam. I am most certainly fond of snakes, though I admit I am more familiar with the icier of species, up in the cold."
Aleria pulled back, offering Thanatos a fang-filled smile. "I am presuming you would like the warm springs? I do not think you are suited for the cooler variety." They folded their hands neatly in front of them, hands over their one piece suit, waiting politely for a reply.
They wanted In to the Springs, but it would be rude to leave him here! Such a nice boil, too!

The humidity certainly was helping, but it was probably Thanatos' 'I-am-shameless' shield protecting him. Or something.
He grinned, chuckling when she mentioned something about wearing less, "You must be from somewhere freezing then, to find Amityville warm. Although, if you think that people should wear less, I should introduce to one of my friends sometime... She's a prime example of someone who wears very little." His grin widened ever so slightly, as he refrained from laughing out loud.
"Icier ssspeciessss? There are sssnakesss where you come from, darling?" She tilted her head, looking very much intrigued at the idea of snakes - or any sort of reptile, really - that can function in the cold; during chillier Octobers, she just gets sleepy and lose any sort of motivation to move about! She seemed to shiver at the demon's touch, carefully nudging her fingers in return to be polite; Aleria was only trying to be affectionate! Nothing wrong with that!
"Good observation," He chuckled, taking his own coat off and hanging it on an arm, "Once I hang this up in the locker room, I'm off to the regular hot springs... I'm afraid someone like me would just end up walking on top of the cold springs, if I tried to enter. There's a spell preventing students who are incompatible from accidentally falling into the more specialized springs."
Maybe he could "accidentally" shove a gnome towards the lava springs, just to be sure... Hm.

"Below freezing, generally," the demon replied with a knowing smile, full of fangs and ice and lack of warmth. "I would be intrigued; I hope she's covered enough to be...acceptable by school standards?"
Aleria arched a brow, then turned their attentions to the snake. "Most certainly. Constructed of snow or ice, and at least one aquatic variant. It keeps eating all of the smaller minipets that roam free on the ice."
"Their internal temperatures are regulated more by fear, rather than true heat. Your kind is an adoptable one."
Aleria's black eyes roamed over Thanatos' form-- but like a doctor did to a patient, or a scientist did an experiment. With vague and clinical interest, important details filed away, the rest discarded.
"I believe I may enter the normal springs-- my body adjusts its temperature downwards regardless of the heat. I am quite certain that I could chill unenchanted lava-- but..."
Aleria peered at the springs with aforementioned molten heat. "I would prefer not to test this hypothesis without some medical personnel."
They motioned a clawed hand towards the normal springs. "After you, reaper. I insist."

"Perfectly acceptable by school standards," He answered with a grin, mostly because he was pretty sure that it was borderline acceptable, "She is a mermaid by the name of Amphi. I'm sure that the two of you would get along swimmingly." See, Thanatos made a funny. Or attempted to. maybe it was just his roleplayer.
"Oh dear... If I were to visssit you where you lived, darling, I would probably become a sssnakessssicle," She hissed, frowning as she tilted her head; just the mere thought of being somewhere freezing was enough to make her feel cold. While she had never been anywhere chilly before, she had no intention of doing so anytime soon, "Minipetssss are delicioussss though, essspecially when you hunt them yourssself. Very rewarding."
He moved away, hanging up the coat and putting away his shoes in a locker before returning to Aleria's side, pulling his dreads back into a ponytail, "And I insist - ladies first."

"Amphi," Aleria repeated, nodding and filing the name away for later recollection. "The pun, while not clever, is sufficiently amusing for me." They raised a pale brow in amusement, lips turned upwards in a genuine smile.
"Without the aid of a heat charm, dear snake, I am sure that you would indeed! What a shame that would be!" The mental image was, at the very least, adorable. Biskotto covered in little paper heat charms, shivering up a storm in the subzero temperature simply by looking at the snow.
And, of course, Thanatos in his coat without a shirt, would likely be in a similar condition. Poor things.
"Oh, is that so?" Aleria asked, amusement heavy in their voice, an impish look in their obsidian eyes. "Well, in that case, should your snake not enter first?"
Nonetheless, Aleria stepped into the warmth of the springs, letting their body adjust. The water around them would not cool, but their body would remain cool with some effort.
The vines inside the demon grumped, and Aleria shushed them with a small "Quiet, whiners!" muttered quietly, as if Thanatos and his familiar were not meant to hear.

"Not clever? What high expectations," Thanatos chuckled lightly, returning her smile with a grin of his own, "Ah, but Biskoto is a lady snake. Lady snakes can go after the lady." As he said this, he knelt down and lowered his familiar to the ground, allowing her to slither off his shoulders; as much as he didn't mind carrying her around, it was nice to not be physically weighed down once in a while... Perhaps the hot springs would be good for his muscles.
"Much obliged!" She hissed, joining Aleria in the springs, lingering around the student before wandering off to explore the springs. She was surprisingly agile in water, moving her body from side to side like an eel in order to get around. The warmth was comfortable, and she found herself enjoying her swim.
"Did you say something?" He asked, stepping into the springs and settling down beside the ghoul.all my feels It's k. :'D Been busy with school.
