Jaromir had woken in panic. One side of his body was cold when it shouldn't be. He looked at the empty space where the grass was still molded to her tiny frame. Jaro often had the problem of sleeping in too late but his little Jara always woke him at a decent time but it seemed Jara was sleeping in for once as well. But his other little one was gone. Nowhere in sight and it worried him greatly. He would call out for her, but the name he had given her never stuck and she had never responded to it. Panic drove him awake and on his feet more quickly than ever. Nuzzling his little girl awake, they started out slowly, and of course with Jara with him he wouldn't be able to go as fast as he would like. He whinnied and looked every where to no success. "Where could she be!" His voice exasperated.

Michi had been sleeping fitfully for days. Ever since she had stopped seeing.. well... that was history. The fact remained, that Michiko had been very depressed as of late, not her usual boistorious self which worried her glenmates, so the young mare had gone off on her own to a little meadow she knew of, to try and relax and get over her slump. So it happened, that late in the night she noticed a suspicious azrein leading a blanketed foal away. A foal that seemed to have the same markings as.. well.. she wouldn't think about that. So Michiko had gone, found out that the little blanket had been foal napped, and elisted the help of her friend and glenmate, Paimon, a very intimidating male azrein, to help her rescue the poor foal and take her back to Michiko's meadow. Poor baby... Where's your family? Michiko had wondered aloud. The mare remembered how she had practically raised herself and decided that she couldn't let this poor filly be alone like Michiko was, so she decided to adopt her. "Don't worry your pretty little mind. Mama Michi will take care of you, Arachnae..." Michiko murmured. Michiko smiled as the filly squeaked and seemed to respond to the name she had just been given.

Jaro and Jara traveled for days, taking frequent breaks for the little one. They stopped to eat and rest whenever needed. "Oh little Jara...I fear the worst." His head hung low, ashamed that he had allowed this to happen. They traveled a little bit further until they came along a very precious little meadow. "Well, this is as good a place as any to stop for a bit." He nuzzled his little girl who still hid under her blanket. Jara wiggled in response to her father's touch. "I hope I'm not over reacting and her mother didn't just come take her....but I don't think she would have done that....something bad must have happened....but what?" Jaromir thought out loud to himself, his face twisted in puzzlement.

Michiko and Nae, as she had nicknamed her, had gone out to collect apples from a nearby apple tree, leaving the meadow for only a precious little while. "You light up my world, Nae." Michiko smiled and nudged the little blanket, who giggled in response as they walked back to the meadow.
Michiko now doted on the little filly, who occasionally called out for her, saying 'mama', which warmed Michiko's soul. The black and green and orange mare was really happy.
When they reached the meadow, Michiko sense another's presence, and didn't hesitate to block Arachnae's body with her own as they slowed their walk, but it didn't take long for Michiko to recognize the stallion, standing in her little meadow, if not the blanket that looked awfully similar to Michi's daughter. "Jaromir?..." Michi called softly.

Startled by the voice of another, Jaromir's ear's laid back as he defensively looked around for the threat to his daughter. Then, he spotted a curiously familiar black coat. Only when the mare spoke were his suspicions confirmed. "Michiko?? That is you! And..." He paused mid sentence after seeing the black blanket on the ground. He looked quizzically between the mare and his missing foal. "How...I mean...when..." he dragged off, trying to figure out what to say, "You found her..." relief flooded his voice as he exhaled deeply, taking a moment to nuzzle Jara. "How did you find her?" He asked.

Michiko looked from Jaromir to his blanket, to Nae. Her eyes softened in mixed emotions as she looked away from the stallion. "I...I woke up the other night, to see Arachnae being taken by some strange azrein.. so I got help from Paimon and we rescued her. She couldn't tell me where she came from so.. I kind of adopted her.. She seemed to be happy with me..." Michiko replied, realizing that Nae had to be Jaromir's daughter. Michi nuzzled the blanket at her hooves lovingly. She had grown really attached to the quiet filly.

"Arachnae?" Jaro said confused, oh...he thought, it must be the name Michiko gave to her. "Does she actually answer to that? She never answered to the name I gave her....I...I can't thank you enough for saving her. I don't know how she escaped my care..." His head hung low in disappointment of himself. "Well...its obvious that she adores you, and you her...maybe its just......" He paused, then looked up into her beautiful eyes, "fate." he finished. Jaromir had always wondered what had happened to that mare by the river. I guess this is my second chance....he thought.

Michi looked at the filly, who scooted closer to her 'mama', then turned back to Jaromir. "She responds to it and seems to like the name..." Michiko responded as she nuzzled her baby girl again. Michiko looked away at Jar's words as she wondered who had bore him these beautiful foals. "So... where's their mother?" She asked, looking away, half not wanting to hear the answer.

"That...is a long story..." He paused awkwardly, taking a moment to stare affectionately at his daughters. "It was on one of my little trips, I ran across a rather intriguing mare who also did not want to settle down but wanted a family of her own. I too felt lonely after...." Hoping he had eluded enough for her to know that he had missed her, he cocked his head, "It seemed more a matter of convenience than love. There was always some one else for me." Jaro looked up at her expectantly, his look telling her, 'obviously its you'.

A tear made its way out of Michiko's purple eye and down her black snout. She really had missed Jaromir more than she thought she would have. She gave a small sniffle, trying to hide her emotions as she buried her nose in Arachnae's blanket. Arachnae cuddled closer as if to try and comfort Michi. "Mama..." Nae squeaked softly. Michiko gave a small smile and nudged Nae before looking up at Jaromir with pain filled eyes. "I missed you..." She said sadly.

Nuzzling Jara up, he led her towards her sister so she could cuddle with someone and Jaromir didn't have to worry about her for a moment or two. "I missed you too Michiko. I tried looking for you, I really did. I searched the place we first met and the surrounding area to no avail...I never forgot you..." He added, he felt guilty for being with another mare, but Michiko was always the one for him. He couldn't imagine his life without had he not met her.

Michiko sniffed as she leaned up against the beautiful stallion she had easily fallen in love with. "I was taken by Paimon's father... I tried to come back as soon as I could.. but it was weeks before I got away..." She said, her violet eyes looking up to Jaromir's. "When I couldn't find you I went back to my glen... That was two weeks ago..." The mare sniffled again.
Arachnae lifted her head and sniffed at her sister, leaning playfully against the other blanket. oblivious to her new mother's distress.
Michiko lowered her head to stare at her hooves, trying to control her emotions.

Jara pushed against her sister's side playfully before sticking her black nose out from under her blanket and trying to get it underneath her sisters.
Jaro closed the distance between the two of them. "I won't leave you again Michi. I'm right here, and we have Jara and Arachnae to think about now. She's quite taken with you, I wouldn't dare take her away from you, or even leave you. I couldn't make myself. You won't ever have to worry about that again. I'll be here to protect you." His voice was stern and full of compassion and promise.

Arachnae gave a foalish version of a giggle, which was more of a 'huff' as her sister's black nose popped under her blanket. She ducked her nose under her own blanket to nudge her sister back playfully.
Michi leaned against Jaromir. "Don't ever leave me, Jaromir..." She looked up into Jaro's eyes. "I love you..." She whispered hoarsely as she bent to nuzzle his shoulder, not knowing exactly what to do with these emotions that were spilling and clogging her heart.

A snort came out of Jara's nose as a piece of grass tickled it. The air from the snort caused both of the foal's blankets to be in a disarray.
"You don't have to worry my dear Michi. I'll be here." His throat closed up as she said those three words that had been running around in his head causing him to loose focus on everything else. "Yo-you do?" He was shocked, he knew she liked him, but not to that extent. Unsure of what to say back for a moment, he took a deep breathe. "I love you too."
