In the time spent in Yin's room, Alex would, on occasion, get a little bit bored. There was only so much reading and re-reading of text, only so much surfing the web, only so much breaking apart and putting back together of the bones in Alex's foot and leg (Though Yin could use more practice at that, since he still somehow managed to put the toes in the wrong places). At some point during this downtime of 'what do we do now?' Alex came up with the bright idea of going through his phones contacts, texting other students on his friends list and seeing how they were coping after the very recent final trials. When he got to Mitzi's name, he paused, actually having forgotten that he had the reaper ghouls number on his phone to begin with. Was he still angry with her? The idea seemed rather foolish now, given everything else that had happened. Having seen Yin get turned into a hunters weapon put things in much better perspective, and made him feel more then a little ashamed at his earlier attitude towards the purple haired ghoul. and so, in a flurry of thumb and finger movements over the phone, Alex began a message, stared at it for a time, and then hit send. TextMessage Mitzi: Hey, it's Alex. Wanted to see how you were doing. Hope everything ok. If you need anyone to talk to, just let me know.

Mitzi had finally settled down on her bed with textbooks and notes, making actual progress on her book-learning that she had been putting off. And this time, no cycorgi puppy had knocked them flying; regular walks seemed to be keeping him happy. She had her eyePhone on the nightstand as usual, but hadn't been expecting any calls or texts. With her music cranked up loudly, it took a few minutes for her to notice it buzzing at her.
She reached over to see who, expecting Circe or maybe Roch or Imryn, and was surprised to see someone she very much did not expect to get a text from. It was especially weird since last time she'd seen Alex, he'd made it very clear he didn't want to talk to her. Still, she'd been wondering how things had gone for him, so she quickly sent back a reply.
-lst trial ws bad, ok now tho. u?-

Alex had waited for a time, but when he hadn't received a return text right away, he assumed Mitzi probably didn't want to talk to him and flipped the phone over on to the bed beside his, reaching up with a sigh and rubbing two hands over his face and then up and through his mass of white hair before locking his hands behind his head. Yin had gone out to shower, or something..had he said he was going for a run? He really needed to stop spacing out all of the time. Anyways, Alex was alone, and bored, and needed something to do. He finally gave in and began making his way towards where his own books were kept, deciding it really wouldn't be that bad to read Scary Potter one more time, when a sudden familiar buzzing and chiming of his phone caused him to stop, turn, and head back towards the bed. Glancing down at the screen, he had to grimace. Really? She texted that way? With an inward sigh, he tapped out a reply, then waited patiently, knowing now that she wasn't ignoring him as he first thought she might. TextMessage Ya, about the same. Not sure how ok I am yet. Still having....flashbacks. Bad memories. Just wish it would stop, you know?

Mitzi rolled over onto her back as she waited for a reply, her books and papers forgotten at least temporarily. She wasn't going to be able to work and hold a conversation at the same time, certainly not now, not so soon after.
She was playing with her phone when the next text came through, so her response was quick. -same. keepng bz hlps, no tym 2 thnk- As she sent the reply, she glanced over at the pile of books, not sure whether she should feel guilty that she was letting this distract her, but she'd only been making so much progress studying in the last few days because it kept her from thinking too much about what happened.

Well, if he was going to spend the time waiting for Yin to return by texting, he might as well get comfortable. Alex flopped back down on the bed, scooting himself up so that the was leaning against the wall, legs sprawled. He wiggled his toes, which were not in the right order, but were at least close this time, and waited for the return text. When he received it, he had to cringe again, because this time he had to actually slowly decipher some of the parts that he didn't understand. Tym? Was that supposed to be time? Seriously? And bz...busy? Wow, Mitzi. Just wow. TextMessage I need more things to distract myself with. Maybe we could hang out some time. Not today. Busy. Sometime soon, though?

-sure. jst lmk whn, no plans-
It didn't even occur to her that the zomboil might be having trouble with her texts. If she'd known, she probably would have rolled her eyes and then typed things out, but her previous phone had been a pain to type on, and she'd never bothered changing how she texted with her new one.
Not sure if he was going to reply right now with a suggestion, or just text her when he was free, she set her phone aside and glanced back over the scattered study material. She could at least figure out where she'd left off, or what to work on next; even if he did reply, she probably wouldn't be past that yet.

It was horrible, but it was like the more of the awful chatspeak he read, the easier it got to understand, so even though the current message he was staring at in disgust was somehow even worse then the one before, he had not nearly as much trouble making it out. He typed in another message, an idea suddenly occurring to him. TextMessage You're a good fighter, right? Want to maybe have a friendly spar tomorrow? Meet me in the gym early tomorrow, or maybe the day after, if yes? He wasn't sure why he thought this might be a good idea but..Yin had just been acting a bit off, since their own spar had occurred. Alex had won, but he felt like it had been undeserved, like Yin had let him win. And now...now Yin was just...and Alex, well. Alex was not himself, that was obvious.

Her phone buzzed again just as she was getting ready to really dive back into her studying, and she quickly snatched it up. The offer to spar sounded great - she could use some practice as well. Of course, she was supposed to be a good fighter... the fact that she was turning out not to be specifically why she was interested in return.
-i wsh. sur thng tho. 2mrows fyn-
With that apparently taken care of, she finally returned to her books with a sigh. At least she had an excuse to get out and active the next day.

Alex read the reply, somehow completely used to the atrocious chatspeak now. He tapped in a quick reply, just to tell her he'd give her a more concrete time later, and flipped the phone back beside him with a sigh. He glanced out the window, as Fei came jumping up on to the bed, purring and settling himself down on Alex's lap.
Yin had been gone a long time...wait, he was going for a jog, right? Not a shower. That explained why he wasn't back yet.
Alex thudded his head back against the wall, sighed, and closed his eyes, trying not to think about anything but how nice it would be when Yin came back again.
