"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

It is most annoying. Everything was fine, then suddenly, BAM, p***s I get signed out and it refuses to let me back on, citing "internet connection!"

I deleted my caches and my contact caches and it's still all NOOOOPE. I remember once I had something like this before and there was some kind of convoluted solution, but I think I might just uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.

Does it??? s**t, that sucks D: Good thing I don't have facebook. That'd be really annoying.

EDIT: I also hate the way it hyperlinks certain words when you send messages. I just don't get what the point is. If I wanted to make a search about "cats," I'd.... go make a search, wouldn't I? There must be some kind of financial advertising gain or something behind it. Traffic and such. Blech.

You know, my internet did the same thing this morning. My wifi was up and working, and yet my computer did not want to connect... o_O
Weird.

After having worked for a few months as the school's backup tech guy....this falls right into the pattern.

All computer problems will invariably be just above a user's ability to repair. ALWAYS.

Not sure why it does that (everything else), but that's Microsoft for ya. The only thing of theirs that I even use these days is Windows, and even the built-in picture viewer and stuff have been removed. Unless I'm mistaken, you can use Messenger through Hotmail without any installations at all, so next time it acts up you may want to look at that.

The word-hyperlinking thing was almost a fad on some webpages a while ago, but it seems to have died down. Then again, it's MS, so those words probably do BING searches.

Back in a bit, gonna learn how to setup IRC stuff so that I don't need to rely on Messenger anymore (probably....not really, have homework to do)

I'm pretty lucky in that I've had years and years of working and playing with computers (and a couple of boyfriends in the techie world) so I know my way around. But I can see how anyone who didn't have the patience or time or know-how would struggle when problems crop up. It can be really frustrating even when you know what you're doing.

Hahahaha, do we ever really know what we're doing?
D:
I swear, those movies depicting computers rising up against humanity probably aren't far off... if only we gave computers the motive...

On that note, I've always kinda confused the hell out of myself whenever I've tried IRC... Is it hard...?
I always hoped it wouldn't catch on or stick around. >_<;

@Hana: Unless I'm mistaken.....IRC is one of the oldest parts of the Internet, right next to email and file transfering. So it's probably going to stick around, in some places at least. Never really caught on like IM did, partly because it IS a PitA a good deal of the time. But the stuff you can do to it...tweak it to be perfect. Glorious. Granted, it still confuses the hell out of me as well, but that's what Google is for!

@Lorika: Best problem-solver I ever found. Disregard if you use Windows 7, but take note if you use any other Windows. See that problem right there? See that reinstall disc that you hopefully didn't throw away? USE THAT BAD BOY. Seriously, most of my work at the school is either fixing busted keyboards or wiping the harddrives and reinstalling everything. If possible, have a second computer on hand so that you can get those pesky drivers back (Dell computers are great for this, their site has all of your model's drivers right at your fingertips)

If you use a Mac.....ignore that, Macs don't break unless they are dropped down many stairs into a Vat of Breaking.

tl;dr, most tech problems can be solved with a combination of Google, determination, and far too much free time

@Mab: Damn. I was so hoping....that'll make it even harder for me to learn.
But it really makes sense. >_<
what is PitA? I feel soooo ignorant. XD;

Sounds like Mab is a self-taughter. XD The best kind.

Only self-taught because teachers are expensive (and don't exist around here)

And trial-and-error is more fun (except when it isn't)

PitA is Pain in the...yeah

Difficulty is just another word for 'Mab is now twice as likely to give up and learn something else'

Or maybe it's like other things, where it only LOOKS intimidating, but is actually really easy to use. Here's hoping...
