After the decision with her brother that mapped out their future endeavors, Pink Lemonade had decided it was time for some business experience. After a bit of thought she had decided that the next best step would be to open up a lemonade stand. She was after all, named for the drink, and so the young phony had set up shop outside on a small table with a large sign reading ‘Lemonade $1’ in big pink letters. The lemonade was all made; one of her better batches, she was proud to say. Now she just needed to wait for a customer to arrive.

After a long morning of perfume making, the white striped mare Scent Puff, was enjoying a stroll. She tossed a lock of white hair over her shoulder, stretching out her neck muscles in the process. It had been a productive day, even more so with Draft out of the stable. The stable was so quiet without her children present, she had heard it was something called empty stable syndrome. Ah but it would pass. At least she didn't have to worry about her bottles being broken.
The female was enjoying the fresh smell of spring air when she saw the little stand. Apparently a new baby batch had been born and one was a budding businesswoman. She smiled, glad to see such a smart young filly. If only her children had been more business minded rather than music and poetry. This one seemed to be a beverage seller.
"Bonjour leetell one. Are you open?" she smiled at her.

“I sure am!” Pink Lemonade replied brightly, excited to have her first customer. “Oh I mean. Yes ma’am, we are open. What can I get you?” Yes, there was only lemonade on offer, but the young Phony thought it would be best to practice her customer service skills.

Scent Puff smiled at the filly. So refreshing to see a phony with real ambition. Puffy could definately see this girl had the right idea but obviously needed some polish to really sparkle. She decided to test the girl a bit first. Puffy was a good business mare herself.
"Zo, what ez ze name of zis shop? And your name, madamoiselle?" she made a show of looking over her offered drink....as if there were more than one.

Pink Lemonade caught on quickly and she beamed at the adult Phony. “You’re very welcome at my shop. It is called…” She quickly ran through possible names. “… Real Lemonade. Because my lemonade is always made fresh from real lemons every morning. She lifted her chin proudly. “My name is Pink Lemonade.”

"Ah, 'ow appropreat. Eet ez a pleshare to meet you Peenk Leemonaide. I am Scent Puff. And I would love ze glass of fresh leemonaide," she smiled at the small girl. She could think of a few things to give the girl a boost in sales. Some eye appealing decorations and maybe even a small radio to add sound and draw other customers.
But first she had to try her wares. After all she couldn't sell her lemonaide even with the most amazing stand if her product was unpalletable. Having been Bon Appetit's food tester she did actually have a refined pallet and knew what tasted good.

“Yay!” Pink Lemonade couldn’t help a girlish giggle. Unicorn horn glowing to make sure she didn’t spill anything, the little Babby got to work. “I’m not going to be a lemonade stand girl forever.” She confessed. “I’m going to open a bar one day. But this is still important!”
Pink Lemonade put a lot of effort into her first cup of lemonade, finishing it off with a lemon wedge and some ice. She carefully slid it towards Scent Puff. “Enjoy!”

"A bar? Hmm, I do 'ope eet weel be a propear bar. Eef zo you can 'ire my zon, Draft Punk, to play zere," she nodded as the girl spoke of her dreams. Good, having a set goal always helped you achieve it. She had good aspirations.
Scent almost giggled as the girl concentrated deeply to ensure her first cup was perfect as she presented it. The mare was impressed by the presentation as it made it seem more professional. She made a show of examining the cup, sniffing it to ensure proper pretaste enjoyment, then slowly took a sip.
She paused....not saying anything.....then smiled, "Zis ez wondarful! A lovely drink. Just enough suger an ze leemon."
She finished her drink then took out a bill. She saw only a one on it, not realizing it was actually a ten dollar bill. She placed it on the counter and nodded. "Very good, leetell one. You weel be ze good biznezz mare."
With that the mare began to walk off, ready to enjoy more walking after the refreshing drink.

“Well of course. It’s going to have all sorts of drinks. I’ll open it with my brother. We’re practicing really hard.” Pink lemonade grinned. “Draft Punk? Oh, that’s Lullaby’s friend. Sure, I’ll talk to him. Every bar needs to have music.” Not that she had been to a real one, but she had watched movies.
The Babby waited for the verdict, barely breathing. Sometimes she messed up the mix and put too much lemon or sugar in it. Even though she had tasted it herself, she was worried.
Pink Lemonade squealed with delight when she was told it was wonderful. “Thank you for visiting my store. Please come again.” As Scent Puff went to walk away, PL grabbed the money and her proud smile dropped into a look of astonishment. Ten dollars! That was a lot of money for a little phony.
She could do a lot with that money and for a long moment she was tempted to keep it. But now Scent Puff was getting further and further away. Oh, the mare had been so nice.
“… uh… wait ma’am!” Pink Lemonade shouted suddenly, hurrying after Scent Puff.

Scent was almost far enough that she wouldn't have been able to hear the filly but as the girl got closer she heard her calling. The mare turned to look at the approaching phoal in surprise. Did she have something else she was suppose to drink?
"Oui, ez zere somezing else leetell one?" she turns to face the filly and smile at her.

Pink Lemonade skidded to a halt and took a second to catch her breath.
“You… you gave me too much money!” She exclaimed; the ten dollar note floated in the air above her head. “Here you go.” She offered it to Scent with a smile.

Scent Puff looked at the panting female, wondering what had happened that she seemed a bit distressed. It was soon revealed when she was presented with the bigger bill. She blushed a bit, embarressed that she hadn't noticed the mistake. But she couldn't help but smile again.
"You are very 'onezt leetell one. Most phoals would non be geeveng me ze beel back," she grinned, "Zo you make keep eet. Zink of eet as an envestmont en your biznezz. I expect to zee good zings from you Peenk Leemonaide."
The mare nodded and continued walking. What was a few dollars when it would help the filly learn more about her business and invest more into it. She felt good.

“An honest business is a good one. I want to have a good reputation.” Pink Lemonade explained. Then her eyes went wide and she nearly started jumping up and down on the spot before remembering she had to be ladylike. “Really? Thank you so very much! I’ll put it good use. I will!”
She watched Scent Puff go, grinning widely, and then trotted back to her stall to wait for more customers.
