I'm a real hero now, I can't deal with distractions... That had been the last thing he said to Connor before he went up to the Watchtower--he hasn't come down since, save for missions and Connor knew better then to bug him then. Wally sighed and covered his eyes, his Uncle Barry's death running through his mind, how he'd sacrificed his life to save the planet he loved--He couldn't be distracted--all of his love had to be saved for Earth.

Wally still felt hurt though, remembering Connor's eyes when he'd said that--the way those bright blue's filled with betrayal, the way his own had hardened and he'd zipped away, not giving Connor space to say anything. He was a monster...but it was for Connor's own good, he kept telling himself that Connor was still younger then him, that he should be with someone who lined up better with his physical self--but Connor was physically 20 and Wally was 26--it was hardly a gap.

No, he couldn't take Connor back, no matter how much he wanted, it was for the better of both of them. He had his work and Connor had his team, let him focus on that. Wally sat up as an alarm went off and Superman came in to tell him there was a mission on earth, something big, good. He needed the distraction.

"What's up Supes?" Wally asked zipping to Clark's side--he'd called Superboy Supes...

"Alien attack it looks like, they came out of nowhere. Batman says they must have used some sort of high tech cloaking device, a large amount of the league is being deployed to fight them, you included." Superman said, Wally nodded and headed for the Zeta beams that would take them down. These were real fights, with real dangers, and real tragedies...not some kitty games.

((Do you want me to be Tim? I was thinking since he wouldn't be an ongoing relationship that you could just play him and I'd play the character's of the League. ))

Wally zipped around the aliens feet, snatching League members out of the way when they were too slow to see a hit coming and wrapping the giant squid things feet up with one of Batman's batrope...things. It didn't seem to work too well, the thing's arms were still waving around, smacking Superman from the sky and pushing Wonder Woman into a nearby building. Geez--this was going to be tougher than originally thought.

"Flash! Run up it's body and go for the eye, it's the weak point." Green Lantern shouted, flying up towards the eye with Hawkgirl and aiming for the eye. Flash ran back then forward, heading for the things eye. He got about halfway there before a tentacle swatted him away, razors stuck out from the tentacle (new news to him, when did this thing get claws?) and he hit the ground hard with a shout of pain, blood leaked from his chest and he groaned before sitting back up. No time too rest.

Wonder Woman flew down next to him and said, "Come on Wally, we need all the help we can get." she picked him up and flew him to the top where he began zipping around the thing's head, hitting it in the eye when he could but all in all he was bait so the other member's of the league could hit the monster without having tentacles swatting at him.

"Come on ya one eyed freak over here!" He shouted, zipping out of the way as another clawed tentacle came down. He grinned as the monster began to tear into itself in an attempt to get him. "Hey guys I got an ide--ah!" Wally was yet again knocked off by the squid's clawed tentacle only this time he was falling from about 100 stories up.

Superman noticed but it looked like it would be close, he watched as the man flew faster then a speeding bullet towards him but it all seemed to be going in slow motion--hell of a way to die. The Flash, killed because he couldn't talk fast enough. Really?

Wally gasped as he was caught and looked up to see, "Connor! Put me down!" He shouted, squirming in the man's grasp. When he was sat down he wanted to zip off but froze as Connor began to rip his shirt--his heart tugged with longing but he ignored it and stepped away from connor. "Quit." He hissed, not wanting to give Connor time to weaken his reserve.

Wally gasped as he was scooped up again and instinctively wrapped his arms around Connor's neck. He looked over when Connor called him Hummingbird and stared at the man a moment before glaring sharply, "Put me down Connor." He twisted out of the man's grip and landed on the ground only feet below them. "I'm fine, you just watch after yourself!" He snapped, his heart burned with his own words but he zipped off before he could see Connors eyes.

Wally growled as the monster fell to the ground without further help from him. Superman landed before him and smiled, "Good thing Connor was here."

"Shut up." Wally snapped, knowing Clark's plan.

"What? I'm just saying you owe him, he saved your--"

"Shut up Superman! I don't want to hear it!" He shouted, zipping off before Superman could say another thing.

"I just..." Superman sighed and looked apologetically at Connor. "I'm sorry." He said. He knew Barry's death took a toll on Wally but--it was not reason for him to push Connor away so strongly. "I better go after him, he's losing a lot of blood." Superman said to Wonder Woman. He flew over to Connor and put a hand on his shoulder, "I'm sorry son, he'll come around." Then Superman flew off leaving the other's to clean up the mess while he searched for Wally.

Wally though was running, he fell though as blood loss and fatigue got to him. Pain too--emotional pain. Tears welled up in his eyes and he punched the dirt before him--damn Connor, damn him for so easily wiggling back into his heart. Wally felt the world turn and twist and then he saw nothing but blackness. He heard a voice--familiar--and half of him hoped it was Connor...he knew it wasn't though.

Clark...That's who it was.

Wally awoke on a bed feeling like s**t, the medical bay no doubt. Wally tried to sit up but found himself strapped down, he panicked and began to vibrate through the metal but a hand pushed him down, it had to be stronger then steel because he couldn't vibrate through it. He looked up to see Superman glaring down at him. "I'm done with you running away from Connor--I didn't like it at fist but when you're willing to pass out in front of civilians just so you don't have to face him you've gone too far."

With that Superman turned away and left, Wally began to vibrate again but before he could get through the metal the IV in his arm kicked up and he passed out again.

Superman flew to Titans Tower and landed on the balcony where Superboy was. "Hello Connor." Clark said, smiling and hugging the boy. "How are you holding up?" Clark paused before saying, "I think it's time you and Wally hashed this out--whatever it is. He passed out in front of civilians yesterday--one was about to pull of his mask before I got there. He's putting himself in danger now and I can't allow that and worse..." Clark touched Superboy's shoulder and said, "I can't watch my son have his heart broken again and again."

Clark held his hand out to Connor and said, "If you want to talk to Wally without him being able to run away I have him at the Watchtower, in the medical bay, where he can't run away." He looked at Connor and said, "but it's your choice."

Wally awoke again to see Superman walking in with Connor at his side. "Damn it." He sighed and tilted his head back onto the pillow. "This is low Superman, I thought you were the good guy?"

"I am, that's why I'm doing this. You owe Connor this much." Superman said, walking to Wally's side and changing the medicine to keep Wally lucid but alert. "Okay Connor, I'll be gone but the medical bay is locked, no one should need it for a while." He said before walking out, leaving Wally and Connor alone.

"What do you want?" Wally snapped, putting up his shields already. Connor had wiggled into his heart once only a little while again---he wasn't going to let him do it again. "Going to tell me how much you miss me--try and tell me I made the wrong decision in pushing you away? Well I don't think I did--things have changed--" Wally choked on his words, feeling tears well up in his eyes. He looked away quickly as they spilled over so Connor couldn't see. "I changed." He growled out.

Wally flinched away from Connor's words, he looked up though when he spoke about marriage. He stared at Superboy, feeling the man wiggle into his heart and trying to fight it. The ring thrown into his chest was like the bullet that broke his shield and he stared at it--just lying there innocently on his chest.

"I---" Wally choked, no--he'd told himself he'd focus on loving earth....Barry had loved another though...He'd loved Iris, his aunt...that was how he'd met Barry. Wally was so confused now, he--why had he done all this? How in the hell did this make sense in his head--it had made sense at one point but now.

"I'm sorry..." Wally whispered, looking up at Connor with tears in his eyes. "I don't--I don't know what I was doing...oh god Connor i've been so cruel to you." He clenched his eyes shut and said, "I don't know how I can ever make it up to you, I don' think I can--What do you want from me?! I've ruined us, destroyed everything! " Wally shouted.

Wally gathered the strength to start vibrating madly and forced himself right though the metal bars holding him down. He picked up the ring and stood up, looking at Connor. He ripped the IV out but didn't move towards Connor. Didn't feel like he had the right to. "I don't deserve you now Connor...What do you want from me?" He asked meekly, looking at the ring then back to Connor.

Wally stared at the floor then looked at Connor, "I--If you want me, I'm still here..." Wally stepped closer to Connor but dared not touch him. "I never stopped loving you, I just--Just tried to push it away...Barry's death, it messed with my head. I told myself that I should love only the Earth, anything else would be a distraction--that's what I believed."

Wally took Connor's hand and put the ring in his it, "This, I cannot accept. Not because I don't want to but because I don't deserve to but--if you would like--I would love to try 'us' again." Wally wiped away his tears but it was pointless as more came, "I missed you so much," He said in a shaky voice, "I don't even--I don't even know how I could have pushed you away." Wally said, his body shaking with the force of waiting for Connor's decision.
