Ekaitz looked at his father. He was resting for once and Ekaitz was the one waiting to do something. This would not due, this would not due at all, Ekaitz thought to himself. How could his father sleep when there was adventure all around them? He looked at the jungle, green covered everything. It was awesome! He still stood out a bit, be a brighter green than the jungle, but that didn't brother him. He felt that he at least blended in more than his sleeping father who was blue and purple.

"Hey papa I'm going to go out and play for a little bit okay?" He asked the sleeping leopard. His father let out a loud snore and moved his head further from Ekaitz. A huge grin apeared on Ekaitz face. "And I shall take that as a yes! Thanks papa! Don't worry I promise I won't get lost. That's your job after all!"

He scurried off before his father could wake up. This would be his first time away from his father in such a long time. He felt himself lucky that he got the chance to explore by himself. His father was so cautious and always worrying about him. When would his father learn that he was old enough to take care of himself. He knew that his father only did it because he worried, but sometimes a papa could worry too much, at least Ekaitz thought so.

When he was far enough from his father he walked quietly around the jungle, admiring its beauty. The sounds of the birds were amazing and so was the wind blowing through the trees. The only problem was that he felt lonely here. There seemed to be no one to play with. A frown went on his face. He would have to fix that. It would be no good to adventure alone. Where was the fun in that? "Hey! Hey is anyone around here?!" He shouted as loud as he could. "My name is Ekaitz! I wanna play and go on adventures!"

He hoped someone would hear his calls. Than he would have someone to play with.

Matlal frowned wondering how exactly he had gotten where he was. He was looking for the dancing felines, but he hadn't had a vision in some time so he wasn't certain he was going in the right directions. Well truthfully at the current moment, he was certain, he was going in the wrong direction. The jungle was definitely not where they would be. Still Matlal trudged on hoping that maybe someone in the jungle could possibly point him in the right direction.

If he found no one after a short time then her was turn around and go back the way he came. So he walked, into the jungle, leaves and grasses brushes against his green fur as he went. He was three shades of green and probably resembled some sort of moving plant with so much plant life around him. He even had a leaf marking on his side.

He walked for longer than he intended and was about to turn back when he heard a small but loud voice. His ears perked up and he looked around, but he could not find the source of the voice. "I'm here," he called back, "I'm Matlal. I love to play and I am on an adventure. Where are you?"

Was that? Was that a voice he just heard? He looked around and saw no one. Than he decided to run toward the voice. He ran quickly, occasionally tripping over roots and vines. "Hey hey voice! Can I join your adventure?" He cried out as he ran. Than he saw the hybrid and grinned. He ran straight toward him at top speeds. When he was only couple feet he tripped over a root and fell straight into the hybrid.

"That was not smooth Ekaitz. Not smooth at all." He said to himself. He got up and shook the dirt off himself and looked around. "Oh! I am sorry Mister lion er.. um leopard? Um. He stared at the hybrid a bit confused. He had never met a hybrid before and his father never told him about them. "What are you Mister Matlal?" His father also failed to teach him manners.

"My name is Ekaitz! That means storm! My papa told me that I am just as loud as a storm!" He laughed at himself. "What kind of adventure are you going on Mister Matlal? Do you need a strong young leopard to join you cause if you do I know a guy!" He spoke quickly and was full of energy. He was thankful that he was able to find someone in the jungle to hang out with. It was much more enjoyable than being stuck with his sleeping father.

Matlal did not see the cub right away, but once he did it took all her had not to laugh. The cub seemed to be just like him when he was younger, albeit a bit clumsier, but he would grow out of it.

Matlal laughed at the cubs confusion and his inability to figure out how to address him when he first reached him. He didn't see the kid as rude because even at his age he would have probably done the same thing. He only knew the kids first name, but already he really like him.

He really wasn't sure what question the kid wanted answered first because he asked so many, but once the cub settled he tried to go in order.

"Um I'm both. My mom is a lion and my dad is a leopard. I am a leopon, which makes me big and fluffy," she said grinning at the end because he was big and well fluffy.

"Ekaitz is a cool name and is got a great meaning, mine just means dark green and I am, well partially anyway ... What else," she said thinking for a minute. Matlal wasn't one for stopping to think, he was usually go go go. "Oh right and I'm going on an adventure to find the dancing felines I see in my visions. The dance with all these noise makers and they really get you heart pounding. Their amazing and I can't wait to meet them."

He remember then that he needed direction though, "you from around here Ekaitz?"

Ekaitz eyes widened when he said who his parents were. It seemed unreal and impossible. Were lions and leopards really aloud to have cub? His father had told him that species tend to stick to their own species when finding the one they loved. But here stood a leopon who was a mix. A wide grin was on Ekaitz face. He glanced at Matlal's tail and brushed it with his paw. Than he nodded his head. "Yep! You are definitely fluffy." He said before looking up. "Hm and very much big! I think that when I grow up I will be a leopon! I want to be big and fluffy to!"

He listened when Matlal talked about the dancing felines. "Hm. Dancing felines eh? I would like to see that. If its loud I bet I would fit in!" He giggled. "Um can I go with you on the adventure? But I have to be back before my papa wakes up. He might get mad at me again if he finds out how far I wandered away." He looked back in the direction of his sleeping father. Ekaitz, unlike his father, was born with natural direction skills. It was hard for him to get lost and when he did it took only seconds to figure out where he was.

For Matlal question he took a moment to think about it. "Well my papa and I are not from around here. We come from a far away pride. My papa is just looking for some new friends to recruit to the pride." He explained. "We have only been in the jungle now for a couple days, but I know my way around sorta. If you need to find something I can help you find it! I'm good at that stuff, at finding things."

Matlal laughed at the funny cub, "I think I like you kid. You're hilarious, but really I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that. You look all leopard to me, so when you grow up your going to be all leopard, but that awesome cause my dad is a leopard and he was awesome."

Matlal nodded when Ekaitz echoed him with a huge grin on his face. "Oh it's definitely loud cause they sing and dance with the noise makers. Its really energetic, that's why I want to go there. It seems like a lot of fun and I think I will fit in really well."

Matlal looked a little uncertain when the cub asked if he could come a long, his first instinct was to say yes, but then he remembered he'd been in this same situation as Ekaitz as a cub and his mother had been mad at his new friend and drove him off. "I would love for you to go, but I don't think its a good idea. When your dad wakes up he's going to be worried and probably mad. I wanted to go on an adventure with a lion when I was your age, but when my mom found out I was going to go with him she got really angry and made him leave. I mean I can't make you stay here, but I don't want to cause trouble. If you're just going to follow me though, then I'll make sure you have the time of your life."

He had to frown even more at the cubs explanation of why they were in the jungle. If this cub belonged to a pride, he was thinking it a really bad idea for the come after him, lest they be found out and sought out, but at the same time it seemed like such a fun adventure for a young cub to have. Not only that, he didn't think Lila, Siri, or Rahi would mind another little adventurer.

"Uh well maybe you know. I'm pretty sure I'm not going in the right direction as the felines don't live in a jungle. So maybe you know what on the other side of the jungle. If you could tell me, it would be really helpful. Afterward we can play for a while. I will teach you how to tree dive."

As Matlal talked about the place, the more sure Ekaitz was that he would love to visit. His own pride was some what quiet, mostly because everyone was so busy all the time. But a place that partied, made noise, how wonderful was that? He would be sure to visit it someday.

Ekaitz gave Matlal sad eyes and looked up at him. "I really want to go though. Maybe we can find my papa and ask him if I can go? I am sure that he wouldn't mind. He alway lets me go on adventures when I want to go on them, well usually. Anyways he always leaves me at home and goes on adventures. It would only be fair if I did the same to him." He said thinking of his father and how often he left him at Mazu. He loved Mazu, and he had plenty of friends there, he just wished he could go on more adventures outside the pride.

He became excited to answer Matlal's question. He loved helping when he could. "Well over there," he pointed north, "there is some grasslands and mountains. Really really high mountains." Than he turned around and faced a different direction. "But over there is Mazu, well it's aways. It would take forever to travel there. Over mountains and around a lake. Than you have to go find the right tunnel to enter Mazu. It's really complicated. I think its cause the members of Mazu don't want to be bugged."

He looked around. He wasn't sure what were past the forrest on the other sides. "Um that's all I know. I hope it helped. So how do you tree dive?" He asked curiously.

Matlal grinned when the cub said his father let him go on adventures, really he didn't want to go have an encounter with the little ones father as he clearly remembered how mad his mother was for quite a time. "Well if he lets you go on adventurer than I'm sure you can come. Your right, it is only fair and when you get back you will have a story to tell." Matlal really did not need much convincing as he loved adventure and really adventure was so much more fun with more adventurers.

He grinned excitedly at the cubs explanation of the land and nodded, "that's it. That what I need. There are mountains, really really high ones. There is all a really big lake, like extremely big close to the dancing felines and I think grasslands too. Thanks Ekaitz, now I know just which way to go and you can help me get there."

Matlal stretched and looked up to the trees around him, scouting them out and looked for a really decent sized tree. He wasn't a cub anymore, he needed big thick branches to demonstrate. "It's easy you climb a tree as high as you can and you dive down through the branches. Watch and I'll show you."

Matlal picked the largest tree he saw and started up it with ease, making his way through the thick branches getting nearer and nearer to the thick canopy above. Once he thought he was high enough, he looked down at Ekaitz. "Now all I have to do is aim and jump."

With that Matlal jumped, diving head first, at an amazing speed for a much lower branch, only pulling out of the dive to stick the landing after a few seconds. He landed with a thud on the thick sturdy branch and laughed as his heart pounded. "You can even dive to a different tree if you like. When you try though I will have to stay close to where you want to jump, so I can catch ya if you miss."

Ekaitz watched Matlal climb up the tree. He couldn't believe what he was watching. His father would never let him do something like this! He would think it was too dangerous, but if Matlal could do it why couldn't Ekaitz? His eyes grew big when Matlal jumped. This was something incredible! Down in the caves there was hardly anywhere where you could have this much fun!

"Oh! That was so cool! Ekaitz yelled when Matlal landed. He wanted to be as amazing as Matlal. Quickly he looked around for a tree to dive off. He knew he probably shouldn't go too high. Unlike Matlal he wasn't experience. Once he jumped a few times he would be ready for a higher tree.

He found a small tree with a couple sturdy looking branches. Carefully he climbed up it. He wasn't the most graceful climber. A couple times he slide down a bit while trying to climb up. "Grr this is not easy! Matlal you made it look easy!" Ekaitz whined. After a couple more attempts he made it up to a high enough branch. He looked down. He wasn't too terribly high.

"I am going to jump now okay?" He called down. Before taking the leap he took a deep breath. This was it. He would jump and be just as awesome as Matlal. Once preparing himself he jumped. He tried to get himself in a dive form, but it was harder for him. His limbs were flailing, as if he were trying to flap them to slow him down.

When he got close to the ground he rolled up in a ball and rolled on the ground. Once he was sure he was safe he looked up and around. "Hm." He looked at Matlal. "I think I did it wrong."

Matlal chuckled at the cubs excitement, it was quite nice. He had to admit that he really missed doing things like tree diving, even if it nearly gave him mother a heart attack. He watched at the cub went up the tree, in well, not the most graceful of manners, making Matlal think more tree diving sessions would be in order, if only to make the cub a more efficient climber.

At the cubs words he said, "trust me cub, it takes a lot of practice. I've been climbing and tree diving since I was allowed out of the den." He laughed lightly, but it was the truth. Matlal was a terror right from the start, but he really couldn't help it. Practically everything he saw he wanted to try.

When Ekaitz said he would jump Matlal nodded, happy the cubs seemed to have since enough not to go up to high on his very first try. However, after he jump, Matlal had to suppress a wince. Unfortunately Ekaitz didn't quite seem to get the form and so instead of diving gracefully, his limbs did their own thing and he certainly did not stick the landing.

Mat nodded when Ekaitz voiced that he believed he did something wrong. "It's not easy to get on the first try, but you have to keep your body right. Your legs and paws need to be brought up, tight and close to your body and you tail needs to be straight up behind you."

Matlal quickly judged the distance from when he was to the ground and looked by to Ekaitz, "Watch me now."

With that he dove of the branch, so that the cub could see just who it was done. He was closer to the ground so it was easy to see, when he came close enough and pushed he limbs out so that he would land on all fours with a thud. He trotted over to Ekaitz and grinned, "Did you get that?"
