AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM Name: Renshu Nicknames: His pet name is Lei Da (雷达) but please don't call him that... Gender: Male Age: 123 years old
Faction: Monster Race: Qilin
Natural Ability: Divine Luck Renshu's ability allows him to "absorb" the luck of others. When other people are around him, it's as if he's really lucky and the other people are really unlucky but in reality, he's sucking up the luck of others to increase his own luck.
Personality: Renshu is an amicable person, who can get along with most people. Though he does not have any problems socializing with people, he does not mind being alone. He enjoys peace and quiet, and finds excessively noisy people annoying. Renshu likes observing people, and experiencing new things, it's very ~*~exciting~*~.
He is well aware of his limitations and also his, sometimes extreme, luck. He's confident and somewhat haughty because of this knowledge. Because he knows his limitations, Renshu's also aware of when he might fail and usually tries to avoid those situations at all costs. Sometimes, depending on his relation and opinion of the person, he will warn or correct someone if they're wrong. Sometimes he will just let them do as they wish and snicker/draw sweet vindication from their failures. He's a sore loser who doesn't like to lose. If he ever loses or fails or is wrong, then he'll be in a sour mood. He doesn't like it when people realize he's in a bad mood though, since that's pretty much akin to admitting and acknowledging he's failed.
One of his greatest traits, in his own opinion, is his ability to reign in and control his emotions. He's good at projecting his default laidback attitude. But, Renshu still hasn't reached the age where he's able to control his temper so it's pretty obvious when he's feeling something extreme...
By Qilin standards, he's pretty young, maybe just on the edge of adolescence. But he's already lived a century so he tends to look down on others based on their age. He doesn't take insults personally. You could insult him or his beliefs and he'll get mad at your and argue it out, but at the end of the day, your relationships with him hasn't taken a hit because of the argument. Renshu thinks that everyone else is like this too (but they aren't), so sometimes he says some rather provoking things.
His hobbies include chess, strategy and being right.
His special talent is finding things that have been lost.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Renshu is interested in the school because it frequently makes headlines. He's hoping he can run into someone interesting or entertaining there.
FEAR Ability: Rend Lightning He can channel electricity into a weapon/blade.

Hey there! Looking over your quest, there's one main question I have regarding this.
Qilin/kirin are considered good omens. They bring prosperity and whatnot. Looking this over, I don't really see anything that suggests that his kind deviates from the standard qilin at all, which has me wonder exactly how his kind is scary at all. You have to remember things in Halloween are created from Fear. If a human has no reason to be scared of something, they pretty much have no chance of spawning in Halloween in the first place.

Thanks for the crit Blade!
I'm a little confused though, are "scary" and "bad/evil" synonymous? I guess if you're from an Asian culture or have prior knowledge of what a Qilin/Kirin symbolizes you might not be scared of them. But even then, they're said to be tiger/ox/dragon or deer/dragon/lion mixes and often appear on fire. If I saw a flaming dragon head stuck on a deer body, I'd be pretty scared.
I guess it all comes down to perspective? Like, personally, I don't think phoenixes or selkies or valkyries are very scary, but I think there are a few characters floating around that are phoenixes or selkies or valkyries, so someone must find them scary.

No, it doesn't have to be 'evil'. However... for some of the examples you've posted..
Valkyries are basically heralds of death, as a grim reaper would be, only they were more focused with the norse warriors. Technically to help bring them to Vahalla and whatnot. This is not a bad thing, but their connection to death is enough to warrant fear.
Selkies, as they are in this shop, used to lure people to their death. Their appearances helped with this. This also was enough for a time back then to scare people. Also.. they're kind of supposed to be a bit vengeful.
Having just one person be afraid of something is usually not enough to spawn an actual citizen of halloween. Potentially enough to spawn a minipet (hence why you see... derpy unicorns and cute fluffy stuff on the minipets side). It takes a more widespread fear.
Leaving a qilin as just bringing good stuff may not be enough. However! That isn't to say you can't twist things.
For example, we have a Baku in the shop. Normally baku eat the nightmares leaving people with good dreams. Not exactly something that would cause fear. However, the baku here do the opposite, eating the good dreams and leaving the nightmares behind to plague people.
I should note that the character herself is far from being evil. But being scary is on the agenda.
Perhaps his appearance is enough to fill in the 'scary' factor, but I would encourage thinking of ways to play with the qilin mythos to add to it.

Besides what Blade has said, I have a question - does he TURN electricity into a weapon, or channel it through a weapon?
Rules on weapons are basically that if you're not a reaper, you don't get one, from what I understand. You might want to consider changing how he uses this electrical ability.

Oh yes, speaking of... You may want to look at the Fear battle guide to assign one of the mechanics to your Fear.
