Dionette sat in her Privy Chamber in front of a huge fire that warmed all her chambers quite well. She gripped the polished wooden arm rests of her comfortable chair, the cushions made of red satin, she was practically gritting her teeth in anger. She'd just dismissed a Lady in Waiting who had just finished brushing out Dionette's hair. Dionette took little pleasure in the company of her foolish Ladies in Waiting, they were all just daughters of nobles, none of them had any reason to think and none of them were very engaging, not to mention they were women. Since the incident yesterday afternoon Dionette had been in a sour mood and none had dared to challenge her.

Yesterday Dionette was forced to leave her own garden party after a group of rioters caused a disturbance and the Musketeers hurried Dionette inside, broke up the riot, and sent the nobles home. That was when she ordered all rioters shot from that point on and told Geoff to get any rioters he could and squeeze them for information if he had to kill them in front of one another. She was officially tired of these rioters and rebels disrupting her life while she was trying to plan a war and enjoy herself when she could.

"Get me Geoff." She said darkly to her servant, the woman made a whimpering sound as she left, not looking forward to going to find Geoff, who intimidated her. However the woman would take her chance instead of chancing it with the queen and left. Dionette took a sip of her wine from her golden goblet and stared at the fire in deep thought, still steaming....she needed to know if he had found anything out. She was wearing a silk robe that hung open over her night gown, the sun had set and it was relatively late now. Dionette's marvelous blonde hair cascaded down her back and shoulders, her curls smoothed out from it being freshly combed and she wasn't wearing any make up right now, but she didn't exactly need make up to make her bright green eyes intense and the rest of her face beautiful.

User Image "Not going to talk? Never going to tell me anything, are you?", Geoff said darkly, crouched in front of a badly beaten rebel, who he'd cut on quite a bit. He tilted his head to the side to try to meet the man's gaze. His grin was harsh and he hummed. "Well, then. Let's count how far your last friend got before he had anything to say.. One..", He said, dropping a severed finger in front of the man, who instantly flinched in fear and disgust. "Two..", He said, dropping another, and a similar response came from the man, who began to whimper. "Three...", He said, dropping another.

Growing bored of waiting, he touched the flat side of his bloodied sword to the man's chin and lifted his head up with it. "How many more do you s'pose I have?", He asked with a grin before a knock came from the doorway to the dungeon. He hummed and shook his head. "..'Till we meet again. Think about what I've said...", He said to the man before tossing a few more fingers and even an ear in front of him. He screamed, Geoff smiled and opened the door.

It seemed he was summoned by the Queen. With a nod and curtsey to the woman, he cleaned himself and his sword as well before he strode to the Queen's chambers. He was greeted by a few guards, who nodded and opened the door for him. He nodded at them in response and entered. He knelt down and bowed his head to Dionette. "Your grace.", He said before rising to his feet. "Enjoying the sunset, I see. The twilight compliments the contrast of your flesh and hair quite wonderfully..", He said as he strode over to her.

"I imagine it's about the rebels? My summon?"
, He asked, looking into the fire before flicking something into it. An eye, as a matter of fact. "Nothing.", He said, quietly. "They are becoming more resilient. I've disfigured and dismembered them in front of one another.....", He turned around and paced behind the Queen. "I've castrated them.. I've had the dogs eat their severed bits in front of them... Nothing. Not a single word..", He said as he stood beside Dionette and took her hand lightly in his own and bowed his head to touch his forehead to her knuckles.

"Forgive me, my Queen...", He said, feeling as though he was failing. "No man should be this tolerant of pain... There was one man, though.. Right before I cut his soul from his dirty carcass.. He said 'Justice'...", He said, sounding a bit solemn. He shook his head and went on, "There is no excuse for my failure.. I take full responsibility..".

Dionette didn't take her eyes from the fireplace as he spoke, her grip tightening on her goblet. Her expression, which had previously been a sour solemn look, twisted into an angry glare as he continued. She snatched her hand from his own quickly. "AGH!" She screamed and threw her wine and the cup in the fire place, the cup shattered and the fire roared a moment with the alcohol added. "God damn those peasants!" She screamed. She got up so fast from her chair that it fell backwards. She picked up a vase of flowers and hurled it across the room, it also shattered. "Justice?! Those vagrants want Justice?! God shall smite them for going against their queen!"

He was the only one she had fits of rage in front of unless she was throwing something at someone. She let out another scream of frustration before going to her window and looking out of it darkly. His compliments aiding her mood none. Her hands gripped the wood frame and her nails threatened to ruin the paint. Her breathing was labored from all of her screaming before she spoke again, quietly, yet so he could hear her. "If it is justice they want, it is justice they shall have. When you finish off this batch of rioters, if they have given you no information on the rebellion forming against me, the rest shall pay for their sin. We will have to start questioning the peasants and if they will not cooperate fully they are committing treason and the guillotine will be how we deal with them. If any are suspected of housing rebels of any kind their house will be burned down so we can smoke out the rebels." She looked out her window a moment more before screaming one last time. "All of France will cry out the names of those damn rebels or they shall cry out in blood!" She yelled fiercely.

Finally tired out she walked over and folded her arms, staring at the fire. "I honestly cannot fathom why they are being so stubborn...but I shall remember those who have stayed loyal to me in the end." She said quietly, pouring a second glass of wine that her servants left for her. She looked at him,"you are the only one I trust any more Geoff...." Dionette said quietly, looking at him fondly, another fiery mood swing.

User Image Oh dear. She'd really gone off this time. She certainly wasn't happy and it was his fault. He stayed knelt next to the downed chair and still acted as though he held her hand for a good few moments as she shouted and paced about the room. His eyes closed and his teeth gritted. An unhappy Dionette was a disaster.. Nay, a catastrophe.

He stood up, however, and stood tall in his place in the middle of the room as she shouted and threw things about. "As they should.", He said upon her comment that they pay with their blood. "They can't hide, my queen. Not forever. They will be weeded out, they will suffer for their treason, the streets will be silent once more and your reign will go unhindered. As it should be.", He said, slowly striding over to her when she looked out the window.

"But of course, your grace.", He said as she mentioned her trust in him. He knelt down in front of her and he looked up at her venomous green eyes with his own. "And I shall never give you a reason to question that trust. My life is yours. The last words that I shall ever say will be your name.", He said, "The day you saved me from my own personal Hell, the day your light pierced my darkness I pledged myself to you and to follow you to the ends of the Earth. I hold myself accountable for that oath, and I will die before that is broken.".

"Alas...", He said in a sigh as he stood up. "There is little left in this day, and there is much to do with the remaining rebels. Not to mention...", He paused, grinning and pointing to her with a wink, "...A face doesn't stay that beautiful without it's rest. My suggestion to you, my queen, is to take advantage of that rest. You've another long day of ruling ahead of you.", he concluded. After a bow and a fond smile to his queen and he made for the door.

(short but I felt it was needed....)

If she were in a better mood, she would have loved his words and let herself fall into the world they painted in her mind, a world where she was worshiped like a goddess by him. She turned and watched him when he began to tell her he was leaving and that she should get her rest. She waited a moment then walked over, touching the door, her eyes cast downwards at the floor. She looked up at him, her green eyes meeting his own....giving him a piercing stare to silence him and forbid him from speaking. She let her body move close to his own as one hand moved to the back of his neck, her skin soft on his own and her touch like heaven, her fingers elegant and slender. She leaned up, her face close to his own, her perfect, pink lips near his, but not close enough for an easy kiss, not that she ever was...perfection was never within reach of humanity it seemed.

And then she whispered to him,"...do not fail me." Her voice was soft, yet it would echo through his head as her eyes pierced his soul. After that she moved away from him and let him leave her and when she finished her glass of wine she went to sleep. The next morning she got a bath and had several maids dress her in one of her favorite gowns before she went to her throne room where she would take breakfast and begin planning the masque ball she would be hosting soon....
