Pandra had wandered away from her family for the moment. Sometimes she just needed to walk away to be alone from them and stand up high on a mountain. She loved the sensation of the wind blowing through her fur and how the clouds could form funny or cute shapes in the sky.
" I'll be back in a little while mom!" She spoke over her shoulder and didn't stick around for the answer as her mother never really complained before, besides Pandra never wandered too far away.

Kai was wandering herself, looking for a nice den to spend the night in - even though it was still plainly day - since she had moved on from the one she'd visited before. So far, she'd had no luck however. It was usually easy enough to find some place to bed down, but at the moment, there didn't seem to be a suitable place, so she had continued to travel. Along her way however, she smelled the scent of another lion. Putting her nose closer to the ground, she scented that it was most likely a cub. A cub? In this area? She moved around the ground, sniffing more closely. It didn't smell like anyone was with it... that was odd, she thought. Kai sniffed around, deciding she would try to track down this wandering cub and make sure they were alright. Nose to the ground, she went forward, hunting for the little thing, hoping it wasn't lost.

Pandra closed her pink eyes in happiness as a stray sunbeam shined down on her fur. It was days like these that made her excited and made her dream of flying. She could imagine just soaring through the skies at fast speeds as the wind whipped around her softly. A sound suddenly startled her into looking around wearly trying to scope out the danger that could be headed her way. It was better to be safe than sorry.
Belly down to the ground she crawled slowly to peek through a bush that was near here and looked around. "Oh-" The word slipped out before she could stop it and she silently whacked her head as she gave away her position. Mom would be so proud, she sarcasitically thought to herself.

Kai looked up, her head jerking level with her shoulders when she heard a sudden noise. The cub? Sure enough, squinting her bright blue eyes she peered into the brush and spotted a white cub just ducking out of sight. Kai sat, chuckling internally but not aloud. Looks like she found the little cub... rather easily at that. But it seemed scared... - she still couldn't scent if it was a male or a female, since it was too young to have matured to smell like one or the other yet - and she didn't want to scare it more.
"It's alright little cub, I won't hurt you... won't you come out?" She tried to maker her voice comforting, but she just sounded amused. Darn it! Her aim was to reassure the little thing, not frighten it more. She didn't want the cub to think her aim was to make a meal out of it....
"Really, I won't harm you... I just smelled a cub all by itself and I was worried... are you lost? Do you need help finding your mother?" She stayed where she was, not moving from the spot.

Pandra almost frowned at the amusement, she was a big girl and her mama let her wander...okay rarely did was she allowed to wander. Just thinking about the trouble she would be in when she got home made her wince at the memory. Her ears had hurt for days, though Pandra understood that her mama was just scared of what could happen to her. She silently debating on answering but after a minute she through caution in the wind. " Um, hi." Pandra said softly still in hidding and watching the adult watching her in the bush. "No, I'm not lost. Just wan'derin' 'round, my family is close by no worries."
The female adult was pretty a very nice dark black like the night sky with eyes of a pretty azure blue. "I was just watchin' the sky, so pretty. I'm Pandra by the way and you?" She asked bluntly.

Kai waited patiently to see if the cub was going to show herself. She really didn't want to frighten the little thing, so she figured patience was her best ally. After a little while, it paid off, when the cub spoke up. Kai smiled in relief. "Hello there little one... will you come out? I promise not to hurt you... honestly I was just concerned about your safety..."
She kept her ground still, hoping not moving forward would encourage the cub to show herself if she was going to. "Ah, it's good that your family is close then. Although I don't think you should be out here by yourself... do they know that you wandered away?"
Kai chuckled softly and smiled at the cub's curiousity as she peeked out from the bush at her. "My name is Kailayna little cub. Yes, the sky is pretty. Especially on a cloudless day."

She debating silently before quietly stepping out of the forestry. "No they don't," She moved the dirt around the ground in shame. "I was going to go back after cloud watchin' and stuff." She cautiously came closer but not too close the adult was afterall a female she didn't know.
" 'ullo Kailynana, " Pandra tried to say the others name properly but couldn't with her small lisp. " Are you losted? Do you have family 'round here too?"

The apperance of the little cub surprised her. She was stark white with rainbow patterns! It reminded her of the white male lion she had met only recently... Was this little cub on her own an omen? She couldn't help but wonder, considering what had happened during that encounter.... but those weren't things to be thinking on when cubs were near, even if they did spur those trains of thought.
Kai smiled at the attempt to say her name. It had been awhile since she'd seen a cub... she's forgotten how cute they could be. "No little one, I'm not lost. I'm just passing through. I don't live here, I don't even sleep here. I'm on my way to somewhere else. And... I don't have a family."
Kai didn't like to relive memories of her long lost sister and brothers, but occasionally they came up on their own and she couldn't do anything about it. Now was apparently one of those unfortunate times. Still, she tried to beat back the memory. Now wasn't the time for those sorts of thoughts either.
"You know, if you wander off... as young as you look, it might be best for your parents to know where you are... what if there was trouble?" Still she kept her place where she sat, feeling like she needed to scold the little one while at the same time not wanting her to feel threatened. She told tell this close that it was a little girl in front of her. "Bad things can happen when you get separated from your parents little one.... I know from experience."

"Oh," Pandra blinked and then spoke with concern. "Aw, you can live with my fambily and then you won't be 'lone no more." She tried to make the other female feeling better. " Yeah... I know my mom is all like 'Pandra!-'" She began with a serious 'adult'-like tone. " 'You shouldn't wander off like you do! It makes mommy and daddy very worried.' but sometimes I can't help it." She sheepishly shuffled the dirt along the ground feeling chastised. "I see sumfin and I just follow. No worries, I'm heading back now before my mom-" A faint worried female voice rang through the air 'Pandra!'. "Uh-oh, that's mama. Awwwh." She whined before continuing. "I'm in trouble now! Sowwy Nana but I have to go. Do you wanna come wif (with) me?"

Kai chuckled softly at the cub's offering. Oh, children... how little they knew and understood. A rogue like her wouldn't be welcomed as easily as she thought, at least, that was very unlikely. "I appreciate the thought little cub..."
The black lioness smiled again and stayed seated as the youngling went through her mock up of her mother's scolding tone. It was always amusing how very good children were at imitating that. She idly wondered, as a mother one day, is that what she would sound like? Would her own cubs recount her scolding tone of voice and words to those she met? She'd like to think not, but probably they would. If she one day had cubs that is.... Kai still wondered if the little cub in front of her might not be an omen.
"It sounds like your parents care about you very much." Kai's head lifted and her ears perked towards the sound of the shout when it rang out with the little one's name.
"Yes, you should probably get back so you're not in very much trouble at least." Her tail swished gently and she smiled again. "Thank you little cub, but I don't think I can do that. Your parents wouldn't like it, I'm sure. In fact, you'll probably be in more trouble if you tell them you saw me, so maybe it would be better if you didn't mention me, okay?" She didn't want to be the cause for the poor little thing to be scolded more than she already was.
"And just so you know, be careful in the future little cub. Not all lions are as nice as I am. Listen to your mama and daddy, they make rules for your protection."

Pandra puffed up her chest with pride. "Yup and I care for dem even more than the whole world." She leaned into whisper. "Dat's a whole lot you know. Aw I'm sure they would likeya!" Pandra tilted her head.
"Oh I see, I pwomise!" She felt a little sad that she couldn't mention her newest friend but in some way understood it. She nodded her head before she took off running only to pause and run back. "You'd make a great mommy someday." She nuzzled the black lionesses arm before heading back to the same direction she had left from earlier.
" Goodbye!" Pandra bellowed somewhat before disappearing into the bush.
END.
