Hidden Half

User Image

A role play between The Dark Closet Rebellion and Timorous Heart about what happens when the hidden side of a normally harmless person is unlocked... Will the detective find out who's responsible for the terrible things happening to certain students in the university? Or will he become a traumatized victim as well for sticking his nose in things he shouldn't?

User ImageDaisy Lace

Age: 20

Occupation: Helps around odd jobs on campus. Cleaning bird cages, cleaning out classrooms, delivering packages, and so on.

Personality: Daisy is a quiet girl who is often the victim of bullying. At this age in life she has given up on asking "adults" for help and simply endures the cruel pranks. She is usually found either crying or looking at her surounding's fearfully while reading a book. The way she acts is as if the whole world is out to get her, giving the idea of schizophrenia being something she suffers. Yet she's allowed to study thanks to her brilliant mind.

User ImageRose Zee

Age: 20

Occupation: Making sure everyone learns their lesson... and trying to make her... lover happy

Personality: Rose is fearless, and loud. She never takes no for an answer and always gets what she wants. Those who see her either envy her or wish to be around her. The night owl earned instant popularity and admiration despite the fact she's rather mysterious. Most suspect she's a model who's trying to keep things cool by only hanging outside at night.

OLLIVANDER SINCLAIR Or Andy for short

Age: 20 years old

Occupation: College Student by day, Sleuth Detective by night

Personality: Andy wasn't the popular type, but he wasn't exactly being ignored by the folks at the university, probably because of his eccentric activities around campus and abnormally high intellectual quotient (his brain works like an encyclopedia). He's calm and collected even when under pressure, very analytical when making his moves, and emotionally level-headed and cynical. He's more interested in solving the next mystery than going out with women, he's also very clever and observant with the things going around him. He doesn't really sympathize much about the people involved in his cases, but if he makes a mistake or loses a person he tends to beat himself up pretty bad about it. Very lively especially at night and in the wee hours of the morning, and also likes keeping to himself, but sometimes confides his thoughts to his roommate and possibly only close mate, Walter.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 24, 2012 9:14 pm

"I shall not do unto others what I do not want done unto me. I shall not do unto others what I do not want done unto me. I shall not.." That seemed to be the only sentance the victim knew. No matter how many times he was asked who had done it or asked if he was ok. The only answer was: "I shall not do unto others what I do not want done unto me."

Kain Cunnington, a star hocky player for the university was found in his room that morning. He was hanging by his feet, covered in tar and feathers like some sort of extreem prank. Obviously it was much more than that with how shattered his mind was. Strangely there were no wounds on him-other than what he earned in his choice of sport- or signs of struggle against whoever had put him in this state. He was a decent looking lad, not too bright though and was known to enjoy pranking others sometimes. However there was something written on the wall of his dorm, in a bleeding cursive due to the rush job on the paint which was a burnning hot pink.

This is what will become of all who have harmed my lover.

~ The justice bringer who is Her Second Heart

Upon a closer look it was easy to smell that the paint was really nail polish of all things. Oh well, that was better than being faced with blood and gore right? There was still the question of what exactly happened to him beyond being hung by his feet and made to look like a chicken.

User ImageMeanwhile, a world away yet in the same university, Daisy yawned in her first class of the day. Why was she so tired? And where was Ollivander? Wasn't he supposed to be her lab partner this time? Frowning the quiet girl hugged her book of notes and formulas. Everytime my partner is a boy, they don't even show up until the last day... so I have to do everything... She shook her head. No, surely he was just busy with something. He was better...

Daisy jumped nervously as other students got all excited over something. A police car and ambulance were driving into the school. The click and clacks of text messaging began to happen as people theorized what was going on. Poor paranoid little Daisy started crying as she hugged her book of notes tight. Making the commotion going on only worse as the teacher tried to both get the class to settle down and to soothe her fragile mind. "Don't make me go back. I'll be good. Don't make me go back." The pink haired girl whimpered, likely talking about the insane asylum. Everyone knew she was a nut.

Slowly, everyone calmed down, including Daisy. Once class went back to normal she hesitantly put down her precious book of formulas and notes. Once they were told to begin working she immediatly began scribbling down rappidly, as if she were timed and her life depended on it. Never missing a step, or adding incorrectly as she mummbled to herself. "He must be where the police are going... He's always into that stuff... being lab partners with a girl is nothing to him... Not that anything that has to do with girls seems to get his interest... unless it's a crime to solve..." To everyone else her mumbling likely sounded wailing, or something else that sounded sad. The words were a blur for them but it sounded like she was still upset about the sirens.

"What a creepy girl, eh?" A student would whisper, but she never paid them any mind. Studying was one of the few things that gave her comfort. At least while the formulas lasted.

Campus Sleuth Detective

The crowd was starting to pile up outside of Cunnington's dorm room, wanting to get a glimpse of what just happened in there. A hard night at partying gone wrong? A scorned chick with a vengeance? What could get anymore interesting than that? Heck even the hallway monitors are having difficulty keeping the students at bay, some were already taking pictures, others were already posting videos online. When the cops and medical personnel started coming in, a couple of students began to trickle away, but some still stayed, especially one...

"Alright get the kids back in their classes, there's nothin' to see here---" A cop in classic blue uniform ordered to the others before stepping into the "crime" scene. However, as the cop looked up, he was in shock to find that he wasn't the only one within the premises. "Oi, you, what on earth are you---aww, not you again." The exasperation of the cop showed that he knew the mysterious figure all too well, who was now standing over the area staring intensely at the wall covered with pink polish. "It's quite interesting how penmanship can tell a lot about a person..." The four-eyed redhead mused, talking more likely to himself than to the cop. Quickly he pulled out a digital camera and took a couple of pictures of the wall, and that immediately sent the cop reeling. "You're not authorized personnel, you are not allowed to take any evidences or pictures of this area." Suddenly two cops grabbed the guy on each arm and began to drag him out of the room, and he seemed rather calm about it, even though they threw him out of the room. "It's alright fellas, I got enough evidence I need right here..." He muttered as he slowly got off the floor and dusted himself off. He patted his grey messenger bag as he began to walk away, it was a good thing he entered that room twenty minutes ago, getting all the evidence he needed from the floor, the dangling Cunnington, even that lipstick mark from the man's cheek. He got them all, and just in time too, the college patrol never really gave him any credit for the past solved cases he's done, but no matter. A solved case is always a good case, and this one was probably the best he's seen yet...

The sound of the second period bell signalled his mind that it was time for his next class, and apparently he was already late for it. He immediately broke into a run to the next building, usually he'd miss classes for a hot case like this, but seeing as he was already called in the dean's office for his absences, he might as well show up once in a while, just to get on their good side. He managed to get to the chemistry lab in minutes, and as he swung the door wide open, the professor and fellow students were all staring at his slightly panting figure, but he ignored all eyes on him as he casually made it to his assigned table. "Why hello there Mr. Sinclair, so nice of you to join us..." The professor called out, and immediately Andy turned and gave him a cordial bow, smiling as he said, "The pleasure is all mine... and if I may correct, it's Private Detective Sinclair." A chuckle and murmur came from the class, and the professor merely rolled his eyes. Putting down his bag and laptop he then grabbed his lab gear, placing his white coat over himself, turning to look over his lab partner's shoulder. "So what are we doing today Miss...?" He paused, trying to recall the last time he asked for this girl's name. Apparently his memory said he never asked, so he quickly went and browsed his knowledge on the student directory. "D... D... A flower... Daffodil? Dahlia? Dandelion? No wait! Daisy! Miss Daisy..." he finally muttered, his face lit up at the sudden triumph of his never-failing memory. "So what are we doing today Miss Daisy? Going to synthesize anything interesting?"

User Image Daisy only kept her focus on the problems. When the door was slammed open she only looked up for a moment, and quickly looked back down. He came, he came Her mind cheered between short breaks. She shrunk into her seat a little when he sat next to her. And even more when he began to talk to her. He knew her name! Of course he did, he knew everyone's name. His memory was brilliant. Everyone knew that. Her eyes focused shyly on the page as she hesitated to reply. "Y-yes... Sinclair..." She finally said, adjusting her black gloves nervously. "We're starting a new group project... don't worry, I'll do everything." Daisy muttered, seeming to tremble in her seat with him so close.

She scooted her seat a little away from him, something that was normal for her to do when someone sat next to her. "... did something bad happen? There were a lot of police cars... I was afraid... that... I hadn't improved enough to stay anymore..." Daisy muttered, seeming to get tense. "That sound bothers me... the sound of sirens... it makes everyone so excited... I hate it." She talked on, slowly starting to whisper, writting down theories and formulas at an indcredible speed. As if her voice and hand were two seperate machines that couldn't slow eachother down if they tried. "I talk too much. Not like anyone pays attention. Haha. I didn't think you would come since the teacher told us last time we would be partners. Haha. I bet you're only here because you've been missing too many classes. Hehe." By this point her voice was getting so low it was impossible to hear unless he got closer. Even if he did se would react by shrieking and hurrying away.

Hearing Daisy finally speaking, Andy gave a warm cordial smile, but then quickly raised his hand with a soft chuckle. "Bah, Sinclair makes me sound rather old, but I do like the ring to it when it's after a P.I. title, which, I will get soon. But you, Miss Daisy, you can call me Andy. I believe this is probably the first time we've met over the semester." He slowly lowered down his hand and placed both behind his back, carefully observing his very peculiar lab partner. His eyes quickly detected everything from her: the pink hue of her hair, her scribbled writing from her left hand, the sweat falling from her forehead, even the way she retracted her seat slightly away from him. Apparently she wasn't too fond of close contact, and it seemed like his very presence made her nervous. He kept a casual smile and his distance, so as not to alarm her and not offend her at the same time. "A gentleman never lets a woman do all the work... I think it's fair we divide the work in half, that way we both have something to do... sounds fair? That way, both our intellectual egos won't get hurt..." Hearing her query about the sirens, Andy went and pulled out his digicam from his bag, and carefully scanned through the pictures he took. "Oh it's nothing to worry about, just poor Cunnington getting himself into a mess... probably some prank, but I don't know this one seems premeditated to me..." He stopped on a photo of the painted wall, and his thoughts began to flow through his mind.

Cheap nail polish bought from a pharmacy...Firm elegant strokes, done by the right hand, no doubt... judging from the angle of the writing the writer was probably a six footer... as for gender, it's a female... yes, we are looking for a woman... Turning his head to the side facing Daisy, he muttered, "Don't worry, you're not the only one who talks too much. I just prefer to talk in my head most times, that way I can also hear what others are saying..." With a smile he added, "Indeed I have been missing too many classes, it's quite amazing they haven't kicked me out yet."

Daisy flintched at the correction and shrunk a little every time he gave a reply. He was... having a conversation with her. Why? She already said that she'd do everything. "I want to do all the work..." She said simply, nodding as she listened to his reply about the boy. Daisy never looked away from her little book, still filling it with formulas in tiny and difficult to read hand writting. "That is a clever way to do things... I suppose it helps with keeping evidence a secret too. So you don't mistakenly reveal anything to people that shouldn't hear it..." Daisy muttered, chuckling over something. "Computers tend to..." She had gotten too quiet in the middle, or rather the rest of the class had become too loud again. The girl continued anyway. "... such flaws can be useful."

"If you really insist on doing so much as half... then I'll see what I can do. I'm still trying to figure out a decent project that will be enough of a challenge for me so my mind can focus." Daisy said after a while, still scratching down formulas and doing random equations. Just to keep herself distracted, she had to yawn but that only put a pause on her talking. "I don't want to do lazy paper volcanos or simple mold projects or ant farms... I want to think of something useful. That will improve people... and their lives." The girl went on, glancing at him for a moment before looking down to her numbers again, seeming to write even faster than before. In that short glance, surely he was able to see how tired her eyes looked. Bags under her eyes but within them seemed to be a hint of determination. On her lips, which only had a little chapstick on to make them shine lightly, there was a short smile. "My last assignment was a failure though... I hope this one goes better so I have something to show for all the notes..." She had still gotten a perfect score on the project of course, since these assignments really only required proof that you knew the steps of an experiment and could explain it clearly... but what good was that when it didn't help anyone?

"We'll need lab rats for me to test on... If you really want to help, I'll figure out a time when we can work together." She yawned again, but still wrote speedily on the page. "Maybe I should try something that will make those feel more sympathy towards fellow humans... Or maybe eliminate troublesome fears." It was clear from her past labs that she enjoyed tampering with the mind and emotions. The results ended up with a few rats that could write and read like a human. Very advance but dangerous experiments. Some believed that she was this way because of an experiment that went wrong. No, this was around long before she took an interest in test tubes... deep back into her childhood that only grew worse over time...

But that was a story to be shared another time.

Andy gave a slight frown at the girl's insistence of doing all the work, it wasn't his thing, making someone else shoulder all the labor, and he wasn't going to let himself steal someone's intellect for the sake of a good grade. It was, offending for his part, since he knew very well that he had a mental capacity to do such feats, like a measly school project. "Would you prefer we do separate works? It's alright if you want to do your own, I can do my own too. Then we'll just pass both individual projects together." Andy muttered, his eyes going back to the camera. He gave a couple of nods and a few smiles while he listened to Daisy's thoughts, and for the first time he didn't mind listening to a female. Most women would talk nonsense, like their relationships, boys, superficial things like make-up, clothing, the latest store opening at the shopping center... This one, however, had sense. It was science, dealing with human behavior, something that he loved to read about in books and have taken an interest of, since these things practically revolve around his case works. "Hmm, an interesting proposition you have there Miss Daisy... making something that would be beneficial for all mankind... are you thinking of making a new drug, perhaps? I'm sure someone as brilliant as you can accomplish such a task." It was rather curious though, that his lab partner would think of something that would make man more emphatic... aren't we humans already emotionally-driven beings? And what caused her to lead to such thinking? Suddenly, the school bell rang, signalling the end of the period, and immediately Andy jumped out of his seat and scooped up his things, hoping he could get more information and evidence about the Cunnington case. He's also thinking about dropping by the hospital to make inquiries. "Alright, it was nice meeting you Miss Daisy... Oh and regarding our set-up for the projects... I could get the lab rats for you if you want." Quickly he pulled out a slightly crumpled black calling card from his back pocket, with his name and his occupation Campus Sleuth Detective in white font. "It would be best if you reached me by mail, I have not much use of cellular phones these days... except for my dad when he calls up." Smiling he reached out and gave her two pats on her shoulder before running out the door. He took a good look at his black leather watch nd let out a shrug, damn it's been a good forty minutes, the crime scene would probably be cleared out by now...

Daisy chuckled at the word "drug". "No... something that people won't have to take more than once to maintain it is what would be new... there are already plenty of medications that affect the mind, but they have to be taken at least once or twice a day... remembering to do this is something people don't like to do... and sometimes people don't want to take medication at all so they'll lie, saying they took it when they didn't." She covered her head as the bell rang, snapping out of her more or less calm self because of it. However hearing Andy speak allowed her to avoid having a total meltdown again. "... yes... I'll leave mail for you with more information..." She muttered as he sped away, picking up the black card as her body shook. One hand held the card as she looked it over while the other went to the shoulder he had patted her, blush on her cheeks. "... He touched me... and didn't try to hurt me..."

Gathering her things, Daisy still shaking like a terrified little animal with a sort of creepy smile on her lips. "He touched me. Hehe. And it didn't hurt at all. Haha." Hugging her notebook protectively she made her way through the school, looking at others rather afraid every time she had been bumped into. Finally she had made it to her next class, still giggling over the conversation and pats, talking as if she had someone else next to her that was actually listening. "He talked to me... instead of looking at me like he does with other girls... Is it bad? Play cool? Hehe, haha. You know i can't do that." She said to herself as she sat down and again began writting furiously but it was words this time. This was a language class, so she had to at least be writting something that was related to what they were doing. It likely annoyed the teacher but she could expand on something so simple as a word for pages on end. It was better than her not writting and having a panic attack though.
"Creepy girl."

Back at the crime scene there wasn't much left. Except in the rope that Cunnington had been hanging by, the nail polish painted wall, and something that was shinning in the corner under the bed. A cheap nail filer that was likely bought with the nail polish. Beside it was the source of the shine, a small charm for a bracelet in the shape of a popular cartoon character that sort of looked like a seal. The circle piece of metal had openned just enough for it to come off of the bracelet it belonged to. Deeper under the bed was a video camera, and a very expensive one at that. In the memory it had recordings of several pranks Cunnington had performed with other hockey players. Most of them were on males that were considered geeks, using an attractive girl to lure them into an unfamiliar place and then do the same chicken feathers and tar prank that Cunnington had been found in that morning. It seemed they thought that prank would never get old. There was a familiar girl in the montage of prank victims though.

Her reaction was very strange. She only stared silently at the laughing boys, and began to laugh with them. "And yet they say mankind is an emotional being! It's nice to see how much you monsters can truely care!!" She shouted as she ripped apart a pink envelop shes was holding that had also caught some of the tar and feathers. "Hehe, haha, hehe... Even you can't make me go back! You almost had me, feeling all soft and willing to think of emotions and clothes and other things females should care about. I was so close to being human! Hehehehe. Great job." She clapped. "Great job" She repeated, clapping louder and louder. "Wonderful job... I won't forget the hard work you went through to keep me an outcast... this way is the best way for me to work after all! As someone no one wants to be around~ Hehehe. I'll see you in class tomorrow~ Thank you so much! Hehehe hahaha AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!" There was no doubt with that soft pink short hair, and that voice, even under the tar and feathers it was clear that it was her...

Of course there were still other chicken feather and tar pranks after that in the video. It seemed there main victims were freshmen that hadn't heard about their pranks yet. Everytime a prank would start by someone explaining that this was tradition for the hockey team to make the bond between players stronger. It seemed to happen once every semester and the team captain was in charge of the evidence and picking out who the victim would be.
