Perhaps changing his attitude towards Mei had been a good thing after all? With the whole thing with the horsemen coming up, both he and Mei were looking to polish their skills and what better way to do that other than to spar with each other? It certainly sounded like a good plan to him and considering he had already tried asking a few others and got rejected, who else was he supposed to turn to other than the broken doll?

There was just one problem. Even if he thought this was a brilliant plan, he still needed Mei's cooperation on this. In fact, he still had to ask her. Which was why he was here. Standing in front of her dorm... the one rumored to be full of creepy dolls...

The black dog shivered. This was one place he hoped he never had to visit. Only problem was, Mei's phone was off and none of his messages were getting through. So this was really the only other quick option he had left.

"Umm... Mei? You in?" He called, knocking the back of his hand lightly against the door.

Normally he'd just phase through to see if she was, but he had a feeling she'd kill him for such an action and if she were changing, Bul would probably kill him too.

Scribbling down some answers she considered to be accurate for one of her class papers, she leaned back and groaned inwardly. She was close to finishing this paper, but there were still others that required her immediate attention. "Jack dammit.." Cursing under her breath, she pressed her hand to her forehead. Some of these classes were too much for her to handle. Sure, she took them on with a positive attitude, knowing that she could do this if she put her mind to it--but after hours of going over the questions in her head, even the most simple of answers began to elude her. She needed to take a break, and come back to these once her mind had regained its sanity and some rest.

A knock on the door tore her gaze away from the desk full of papers. Staring at the door dumbfounded, she finally rose from her chair and strode towards the door. Of course, she knew who it was, even before she open the door--the voice was a giveaway. "What is it Tybalt?"

Thanks to her time at amityville; what would have used to be a child's nightmare of a room with tattered, torn and bloodied stuffies was now one of someone who had some actual sense of organization. Only a few stuffed animals remained. The most common, were the black rabbit plush toys she usually carried around--mostly when in danger of cracking. Thankfully, she rarely needed to bring them along now that her FEAR was under better control than when she first arrived.

The door opened and the black dog held his breath. This was it--what horrors would he see that would torment his mind and plague him with nightmares for years to come!?

Clean.

Surprisingly it was very clean. It wasn't the gorey mess that it was rumored to be... Did she clean it recently? Or had it always been just a bad rumor that revolved around what used to be a bad tempered ghoul? He couldn't say for sure, but at least there weren't a hundred beady eyes staring back at him. That was a definite plus!

"Err umm... Is it a bad time..?" He asked, still trying to look past her for any signs of the stuffies. It was only when he was sure nothing was going to surprise him did he actually stopped and looked the ghoul in the eye. "Truth is, I'm looking for a sparring partner... and I was... kind of hoping you'd be that partner..?" He mumbled the last bit, looking just a little sheepish.

To think, he'd be asking this ghoul a favor.

Mei narrowed her gaze at the boil as he seemed to be checking out her room. Why was it, whenever she opened her door, something like this always happened? Did they do this with every dorm? Or just hers? Honestly! "Ahem!"

Sighing, she opened the door wider to allow him passage. "No--yes..well..just one of those days were you want to tear your hair out after working on school papers non-stop." Those days seemed to be every day now, but what could she do? Moving from the doorway to her bed, she stretched out before allowing herself to fall back onto the mattress. Watching and waiting, she was curious on what brought the boil here. This was the first time he had actually ventured all the way to her dorm, rather than just send her a quick text.

"Hmm..?" A sparring partner? And he wanted her to be that partner? Their rocky friendship had been slowly improving, but she was surprised that he had come as far as this to actually request her help on this. The doll couldn't help but smile. "You sure you want me to be that partner? Not that I'm objecting. I'm just a little surprised that I would be your first choice." Assuming she was his first choice for this anyways.

Tybalt straightened a little when she cleared her throat. Maybe he had offended her?

Oops.

"Ah... homework is it?" He asked, thankful he had already finished his for the day. Funny that. When he first came here, he was quick to avoid any and every lesson if he was given the chance. Now? Now he took almost all of it seriously. Though, perhaps serious situations did that? Make them wake up and start taking life seriously.

"Yeah, actually, I asked a few others, but yeah... since they were busy they told me some other time." He admitted. Not that she was last on his list of those to ask, it was more, he didn't want to pile favors onto someone who had only recently started getting on friendly terms with him.

"But you're interested, yeah? Could catch up a little too. Haven't had a decent conversation, or fist throws from you in a while. How have you been?" He asked, leaning on the door frame. The idea of having a civil conversation with the broken doll was still kind of a shocker, but it was a welcome thought. She had actually started to grow on the black dog over the years.

"Mmhmm." She nodded tiredly as she looked over at the papers left piled on the desk. How she wished she could just set it all on fire and be done with it. But, she figured the teachers would be less amused over the idea. Nah, better she just get it done and over with, hand it in and be done with it..until the next round of papers came anyways.

So she wasn't his first choice. More like a last resort since his other options bailed on him. "Ah, I see." Clicking her tongue, she stood to her feet, folding her arms again. It would be a nice distraction from school work..but then again, would it really be wise to spar, and then get back to work with a pounding headache and other injuries..? Probably not. But still..

"I don't know. I really have a lot of work to get done.." Tugging at one of her ponytails in thought, she glanced back to the black dog. "Been better really." Pausing, she looked from the black dog, to the pile of papers and back to him again. "Aw, hell. Fine. But if my head is pounding when I have to get back to these papers, I'm going to murder you." A funny thing to say to a ghost, but there it was.

Tybalt hid a smile. For some reason he figured Mei would have finished her homework long before he had. Then again, for all he knew, this could have been an entirely different class. One he would likely fail. Yes, it was better not to get an ego over something like this. That was when you ended up looking the fool.

"You know it! Best way to get rid of your pent up aggression and frustration is to beat someone up. I say this is your lucky day, no? Since I'm practically volunteering for the job." He teased, pushing himself off the door frame once more.

He hoped she'd say yes, he was really looking forward to spar with her. Even if he lost, which he hoped he wouldn't, he wanted to do something that felt like he was getting somewhere and sitting around on his a** just didn't cut it. But it all depended on her answer...

The black dog held his breath as she mulled it over and to be honest, he thought she was going to be like the others and decline his little invitation, but instead surprised him with a yes.

"You will!?" He almost hopped on the spot, tail wagging with glee. "Awesome! Meet you at the gym!" He said so quickly, that he almost slurred his words together before he ran off, leaving the broken doll to herself.

"Well.." She smiled wryly at the boil. "I am always in the mood to hit this one annoying little black dog." Which was half true. Many times, she had wanted to beat the black dog into oblivion, but lately..he was becoming more tolerable.

She watched as he jumped up and down--he looked like an overjoyed child. Whatever he said, all she caught was 'awesome' and 'gym'. It was enough to know where she needed to go. Obviously, they would be meeting at the gym, because well..that's where everyone fought.

Walking over to her desk, she straightened out her papers, leaving them in a neat pile to come back to after they had finished their little spar.
