Bart Erhman was a former evangelical turned agnostic after learning that the Bible wasn't literally true as he was taught growing up. He's a widely respected New Testament Scholar. He's published quite a few book concerning facts that many theologians know about the Bible but don't openly discuss with people and does so in a way that easy to understand.

I might have to look him up, next time I am in the book store... I do love that the myth people are called mythicists... lol
